Sunday and a familiar house!
“So, who’s your soulmate? Mine is the mirror.”
Apart from teaching that little things matter, family is important, friendship is a gift, teamwork pays off and to never give up; cartoons in almost every episode have something to make us grow into better humans. Few which I remember, because one cannot mention everything, they taught us. We spent the day watching these shows and ordered some Italian food for lunch. Soon evening rolled in as Isabella was fast asleep in Aiden's arms, who was also sleeping as their heads rested against each other, while Isaac was sleeping in my lap as I caressed his face.
Checking the time from the wall clock, I saw the hour hand ticking at five o'clock. I picked Isaac carefully in my arms and took him to his room and laid him down on the bed. It was good that they were sleeping, and I could get ready without their bickering with each other.
When I turned around to walk into the living room, I found Aiden entering the room with Isabella in his protective embrace. He did the same with her as I did with Isaac.
We walked into the living room as Aiden collected his keys from the counter, saying, "Linda will be here in an hour and I'll be back at seven." Said Aiden to which I nodded. When he left, I closed the door and walked towards my room.
Standing in front of my full-length mirror, I fixed the spaghetti straps of my blue full summer gown with a slit starting from my left knee to the ankle, pairing it with my white braided ankle strap flat sandals and applied minimum make-up, black eyeliner, mascara, blush and cherry lipstick.
I left my short strawberry blonde in their natural waves, wearing white matching earrings, I was ready to go.
By now the kids woke up and they were bickering over a topic which I think I don't know. The bell rang and I walked to answer it, "Kids! Stop fighting!" I yelled when their voice grew.
Answering the door, I greeted Linda with a smile, "Hey Linda! Thank you so much for coming at the last moment." I hugged her to which she huffed and said, "C'mon Rose, you know how much I love your twins. They are adorable and also, I was free." Answered Linda as she walked in.
Smiling at her, "Thank you."
Before she could say anything, "Linda!" My kids yelled and ran towards her while she crouched down and opened her arms to welcome them in her embrace.
Totally a cliche moment! But what could I say, she always does this.
Well, her petite body could not handle the force which my kids imposed on her, resulting in them falling onto the floor, while they giggled along with Linda. I was happy to see them together.
"How are my favorite twins?" Asked Linda, trying to get up as I pulled my kids from her. I didn't know how, but three of them were stuck together.
"Good…."
"Me too…" said Isabella, softly.
"Okay kids, listen here." I said, turning their small frames to my side. "Mommy is going for dinner with Addy, Linda will take care of you. Okay?" I asked.
"Okay!" They replied in unison, again.
A car honked beneath my window, and I knew who it was, "Mommy is leaving." I said, leaning down as one by one they kissed my cheeks, and I did the same.
Collecting my wallet and phone from the counter, I said, "Be good for Linda and no more flights." To which they replied, "Okay." And I knew they would definitely fight no matter what.
Shaking my head, I left my apartment as Linda locked the door behind me. Descending down the stairs, I saw Aiden leaning on his car.
When I looked at him intently, stopping in between I burst out laughing which perhaps caught his attention. He looked at me, raised an eyebrow, asking, "What?"
I guess, I was standing in the dark and he could not make out what I was wearing, so I stepped forward and when he looked at me, specifically at what I was wearing, he started laughing too.
"You wore it on purpose." I stated, amusedly.
He was wearing a white inner tee with a blue half sleeved open shirt, pairing the combination with khaki pants. Well, he looked dashing.
"Nope." He answered and opened the passenger side door for me.
"Then we are matching, coincidentally." I said, chuckling as I got into the car and buckled myself up.
Walking around the front of the car, Aiden sat into his driving seat, saying, "Totally a coincidence." He said and we both burst out laughing.
We talked about different themes for Marcus' wedding as I always believed we should always be ready, and everything should be planned before any meeting. The whole ride went quickly and after half an hour, Aiden pulled in front of a beautiful beach house.
"We are here." Announced Aiden as he got down and I did the same.
Why does this house look so familiar?
