Would you call it bad luck or the worst timing, if you end up working with the same person you spent five years hating?
Evelyn Rose Williams, the girl that I loved with every nerve fiber in my being. But now, I despise her the most. Immature, materialistic narcissist who just cared about herself, who played with each and every person's emotion as if they were pawns in her life. The girl who could stoop down to the lowest, if it benefited her in any way. The girl once ruined my life, and I'd never let that happen again.
After five years of messing with my head, why the hell is she back? Why couldn't she just leave me alone?!
The frustration that was stirring inside me was driving me damn crazy. I saw her getting appointed as my secretary, all thanks to Chris. And after getting appointed as the secretary of the CEO of a multinational company, she had the nerve to ask me if this job was revenge.
Revenge! Like I would ever waste my breath on this self-centered, spoilt brat.
Fuck my life!
Well, she had changed a lot and looked wise, her face wasn't usually caked with make-up, her straightened hair was now styled in her natural waves and the dress that she was wearing on the day of the interview was decent and elegant. But her personality might be still the same as the little cunning fox she is.
Rose!
Groaning under my breath, I knew that working with her would take every ounce of patience left inside me. As I had expected, she is still a trouble for me. One glance at her stupid pretty face and boom, couldn't work even more.
The face I used to adore.
Her middle name had always suited her pretense personality when she was with me. Sweet, caring, innocent, humble, little Rose, my Rose! But how could I let it slip from my mind that this beautiful flower blossoms in the surroundings of thorns?
Spending the next two hours thinking about her, to a point that I was seconds away from pulling my hair.
Rose's presence, no, no, no, not Rose's presence! Damn! Evelyn's presence in the building was suffocating me, even though I had closed the curtains.
I needed to get the hell away from this girl!!
Leaving the office, I walked towards the parking lot where my driver was waiting for me. Once I sat inside the car, my breathing turned even as I let out a relaxing sigh.

Once my fourth drink finished, I asked the bartender to pour another one. Right now, my mind was a mess, and the only way to clear it was by drinking. I knew in the morning I'd be regretting this, considering I had to go to the office in my hangover state.
The bartender slid the glass towards me as I walked to the railing, giving me the sight of the crowd dancing on the first floor. The nightclub was packed for tonight and was already in its full swing.
It was evident to see that the crowd who was cheering and dancing, was showing its emotions. Some people were celebrating, some were drinking their miseries, some were here to forget everything and for some, it was their first chance to face the mad crowd.
Staring at the crowd when my eyes found the most beautiful pair of eyes, looking at my dark figure as she couldn't figure out who I was.
Moving a bit forward, I saw her honey-brown eyes widening in realization as she quickly turned around.
I knew she would look back, always the curious little kitten. When we locked eyes, I made sure that she felt my intense gaze wherever she went. She lost focus when her plus-one briskly pulled her away as they went to their booth.
Time for the show, darling.
When Jace our DJ for tonight announced my performance, I could feel her anxiety as I was dying to see her vulnerable state.
The guitar that I haven't touched in years would be my first tool to trap her in my misery. The tears that I saw gathering in her eyes on looking at the guitar was a sign that she remembered.
I made sure to look right into her soul when I sang the song that I composed for her years ago. I wanted her to feel every ounce of pain that she had given me. I'd never let her forget the moments we spent together as one.
My voice cracked a little in the end, and I saw her standing in a frozen state, closed eyes, and tears flowing down her cheeks.
Yes, Rose! Feel that pain, that guilt, that embarrassment. It is just a start; you were talking about revenge, right? Well, I'd make sure that happens. And I'd never fall for you again, never!
Walking towards her, I saw her asking the bartender for a bottle of beer. As I said, cunning Fox, she wanted to forget the pain. Well, that isn't going to happen.
Sliding my hand around her waist, I pulled Rose against myself. "Who do we have here?" As my breath fanned her ears, I felt her shudder under my touch.
I still have an effect on you little Rose.
She was about to escape when I swiftly turned her around to face me. Her honey-brown eyes elevated my anger towards her as I've known when and how her eyes changed their color.
Dark when she used to get angry, light brown when her eyes twinkle in mischief, and my favorite honey-brown when she used to get nervous or scared.
And right now, she was nervous as well as scared, as she was trembling from fear. Smirking a little, I leaned down towards her right ear, "Rose…", to confirm my theory, I did have an effect on her as I saw her melt into my arms.
Not so soon, baby. Not so fucking soon!
"I always had an idea you were that kind of girl, Miss Williams," I commented.
"W-What?" She stuttered and looked confused.
Acting like she was the most innocent girl in the world, angered me even more as I said something that wasn't supposed to leave my mouth. "I know you're pretty good at giving satisfaction for getting paid. So, what do you say? Want to get out of here?"
Fuck!
I knew my statement made her furious as her eyes turned into dark black and brown. Way too predictable little Rose.
Next thing I knew that she tried to slap me, but thanks to reflexes as I caught her wrist in midair and pulled her hard against my chest. The way her body felt against mine sent shivers down my spine. My lack of concentration on her resulted in me being pushed back as she escaped my grasp and walked past me, managing to hit me with her shoulder.
We aren't done yet, Miss Williams. I pledged to myself.
