Chapter 100 The Father Wakes Up
Father, are you awake?
My father, who had been asleep for six years, and who had been dying many times, woke up?
She did not know when the noise had stopped. She remained frozen like a stone, and how long she would have remained frozen had Sophie and Norton not given her a tug.
Norton raises his hand to touch his mother's forehead. Unfortunately, he's not high enough to touch it. He asks anxiously, "Mom, aren't you sick?"
Sophie clutched her mother's hand anxiously. "Mom, aren't you feeling well? Why are you crying?"
Bane touched her cheek. Her hands were full of her own tears. She quickly wiped them away and smiled.
When my father finally woke up, she could not wait to rush to the hospital to hear the good news.
Even when Rosa sent her to prison, Bane loved her father, who had come to the country to take her home after her mother died, paid for her education, and always encouraged her.
Her father was put into the hospital because of a car accident. After rescue, she picked up a life but became a vegetable. This fact made Bane sad for a long time, and she always believed that her father would come back one day.
Unexpectedly, wait six years.
After she came out of prison, her father was taken to another hospital by Rosa, and she did not let her know which hospital, so that she could not visit her father at all. Fortunately, his father woke up.
With Norton in his left hand and Sophie in his right, Bane makes his way to the living room. As he reaches the sofa, he sets the baby down. He crouches down and says, "Norton, Sophie, your grandfather is waking up."
The children's eyes lit up and their little faces were filled with surprise when they heard they still had their grandfather.
"Mother, let's go and see Grandpa."
Bane was about to say yes, but his face froze.
What had happened over the years was unknown to her father, and most of all, she had no idea how to explain the existence of Sophie and Norton.
She has a baby before she gets married and has a close relationship with her brother-in-law...
Bane's face went pale.
Bane had been out of sorts all day and had cut his finger while cooking.
And when Bert came back, he saw the delicious meal on the table, and Bane's fingers, all wrapped up.
"Dad! Now you're home!"
Sophie rushed forward and took Bert's hand in hers. Though she had been in the orphanage for so many years and had seen so much of the world, her innocence and her hope for home were still intact.
She was quick to accept Bane when he went to the orphanage to find her, so she was also quick to accept Bert as her father.
Because Sophie had been deprived of her father's love for years, she grabbed at any warmth she felt.
Norton does not run to Sophie, but sits delicately in his chair, but there is something in Norton's expression that shows how pleased he is to have Bert back for dinner.
Before that, Dad didn't come home very often. He spent most of his time with Myron. Now that he has a mother and a sister, Dad comes home more often.
At home, there is a father and mother, also have a sister, and then sit together for dinner.
Bert carried Sophie to the table, just in time to see Bane's cut finger.
Bane felt Bert's eye and winced.
I want to care, but instead I say, "How stupid!"
A look of embarrassment came over Bane's face, and he avoided Bert's eyes. "It's urgent," he said. "It won't be a big deal.
"If you can't cook, don't do it. Why are you so hard for yourself?"
Bert could not bear to see her hurt him-after all, he could afford a cook, but Bert looked impatient, and Bane twisted Bert's meaning again.
Bane did not speak, but his hands were clenching quietly.
Is he going to send her away?
Will she ever see Sophie make a full recovery?
Bane didn't enjoy the meal. She was so preoccupied that she had no appetite at all.
Bert, rarely in a good mood, joins Sophie and Norton to play with Lego.
The big corner of the living room, where Sophie and Norton like to go when they're not doing much, is stacked with Legos.
Norton and Sophie are obviously having more fun than usual because of Bert's presence, and Norton, who usually likes to cuddle up to his computer, has put it down and let it radiate like a child should.
After setting the table, Bane sat on the sofa and watched the scene.
This picture looks so sweet.
Moreover, Bert, who was usually so cold, was now extraordinarily gentle, and radiated an air that was even more fascinating.
With his head down, he would listen to Norton's advice, he would encourage Sophie to do this, and watching this, Bane knew that Bert might not be a good husband, but...
As a father, absolutely qualified.
From Bane's point of view, Norton and Sophie would have been well taken care of by Bert even if she hadn't been here.
Heart again hit a sense of frustration, let Bain's mood could not help but low.
In the evening, after bathing, Bane put on his nightgown, and after a long time of thought, he braved himself and went out of his room.
The light in the study was still on, and even at the chateau Bert still attended to the business of the Company.
She knocked at the door and went in.
Bert looked up. "What's up?" he said.
Bane tried to calm down and said, "Can I ask you something?"
Bert dropped his pen directly from his hand, and there was a look of surprise on his face. It was rare for her to ask him.
He was in a happy mood and said, "Say it."
Bane walked up to him, bowed his head and said, "I'd like to go out tomorrow if that's all right?"
If anyone wanted to come in, he had to ask Bert's permission, and of course he had to ask Bert's permission if he wanted to go out.
Bert paused, and an automatic picture of himself and Ward in each other's arms flashed into his mind.
You can't wait just a few days?
The sight of Bert's face sinking was not good for Baynton, for the speed with which Bert's face turned was disturbing to her.
"What are you going out for?
"I, I want to get out... Take care of some business..."
"Deal with what?
Bane thought for a moment and did not intend to tell Bert about his father.
