Chapter 204 Something that Belongs to Her
Jack opens it up. Inside it is the crown that was not photographed before. It is beautiful.
In it, too, lay a card.
Up close, the crown looked so beautiful in the light that Bane could hardly move his eyes.
Bert picked up the card, and when he read the name, his face fell.
"Why, an acquaintance?"
Bane was surprised, too. Of course she knew someone else had taken the photo and given it to them.
"I'm going out." Bert went straight outside. Bane did not doubt it. He felt that it was someone he knew who should be grateful for such a valuable gift.
Bert walked quickly outside.
"Herbert......" Bane gave a cry unconsciously. Somehow, she thought he was a little strange today.
Bert looked behind him for a moment.
"Come back soon."
"Well."
With these words Bert left.
Seeing him go, Bane always felt the same pang he had felt before.
'Madam? "Cried Jick, seeing that Bane had been staring into space.
"Jick."
"What orders?"
Bane wanted to ask what friends of ordinary Bert came to such places, but after a moment's hesitation, she shook her head and asked nothing.
"Nothing."
"It's all right, madam. The boss just came back for a visit."
Bane nodded, trying to subdue his uneasiness and focus on the auction.
But she was so bored that when the auction was over, Bert did not come back, but had her taken back to the farm.
He simply said that there was something wrong with the company and said nothing more.
Bane told herself to trust Bert, but she kept feeling uneasy.
On the way back, she checked her phone all the time in case she missed his call, but she was disappointed.
She could hardly control the growing uneasiness in her heart.
She finally did not bear, or made a phone call to go back, but no one answered, again hit the past, was hung up.
After going back, Bane quietly suppressed the discomfort in his heart, lay down on the bed and fell asleep.
Perhaps because she was so tired with pregnancy, she slept almost through the night.
When she woke up, she only felt the temperature next to her, but saw no one.
The man must have come back, but he left early in the morning.
There was a strange, familiar smell in the air, but he did not think much of it.
I was a little nervous, but when I thought of him coming back last night, I felt a lot more stable.
By the time we got to the living room, the two kids were having a good time, because Sophie was about to have surgery, so they hadn't been to kindergarten either.
"Elder brother, look at this, it is too beautiful, these colors match, really good."
Norton looked at it very carefully, and he really couldn't tell the difference between it and a normal painting.
"Mmm, it's beautiful." But he couldn't bring himself to spoil Sophie's fun, so he had to play along.
Sophie was so happy to hear that she kept dragging him toward the painting, refusing to move her eyes.
Norton took some art lessons, which he really didn't understand, but it was okay to cheer his sister up.
Bane comes down and laughs at Norton pretending he's got a headache on his face and I can read it.
"Mommy."
At the sound, Sophie pounced.
She smiled happily, "Mommy, is this for me?"
Bane nodded. "It's from Mommy and Daddy."
"Thanks Daddy and Mommy, but Mommy, Uncle Myron said Daddy left really early today."
Bain was puzzled, but didn't say much, perhaps it was just that the company had been busy lately.
"Ma 'am, have something to eat, the doctor will be here to examine the little lady."
Bane nodded. She was up late today, so she hadn't had breakfast yet.
She simply ate something, and the doctor came to examine Sophie.
Sophie is going to have an operation the day after tomorrow, so no one can afford to be careless.
Watching the doctor examine her, Sophie looked a little frightened. "Mummy, am I going to have an operation soon?"
"Yes, Sophie is better now that she has had the operation."
But she did not know is that a lot of things, have had the end.
Sophie had gone to the hospital the night before the operation, and Anne had been there as soon as possible.
Bane had intended to stay with Sophie, but Bert felt that her health was too much for her. She had to rest and come back the next day.
As the surgery nears, Sophie is happy and comforting others.
The sight of her being so bright and lovely made Anne choke back the tears.
Bane was relieved to see the smile in the corner of Sophie's eyes. She was about to look for Bert when she found that he was not in the room.
Bert had put Sophie in the best room, with the best medical equipment and a doctor, who would be there at the first sign of trouble.
But now that Bert was not in the room, he felt something was wrong.
Bane quelled his discomfort and walked slowly out.
As she stepped outside, she saw Bert on the phone at the end of the corridor, but with his back to her and without noticing it.
Bane, with a touch of mischief in his heart, sneaked close to him, was about to frighten him when he suddenly heard him very gentle tone is answering the phone.
He seemed to be a longtime friend.
"How are you? OK... I understand..."
His words were simple and he didn't say anything else.
But his gentle tone, or can not help but let Bane stop pace, although know eavesdropping is wrong, but she subconsciously did not make a sound.
"I'm not married yet..."
Bane was stunned and did not react for a long time.
Although he said he had to trust him, a bad feeling arose in Bane's heart.
She slowly cast down her eyes and walked back to the room.
Only she did not hear what Bert said afterwards.
'I'll propose to her soon. I'm very happy now. Thank you for your blessing.'
I don't know what was said, but Bert didn't say anything.
After a long pause, he sighed resignedly. "There are a lot of things we can't predict, Blunn. Let bygones be bygones."
After hanging up, Bert went back.
"Daddy, you just went somewhere and didn't accompany me."
Sophie pretended to complain.
Bert smiled, stepped up, and gently coaxed Sophie.
When she saw Bert like this, the last fear Anne had had was gone.
Children are the worst liars, and Sophie really liked her dad.
