Chapter 26 The Brother- in-law
After a bit of pestering with Rosa, she was really late.
"Sorry, something just happened."
"Sit down."
Bane pulled out the chair in front of him and sat down, feeling very uneasy.
"I already ordered it for you. Try it."
It was the first time Bane had ever seen a man like this, ordering people out without even asking about their taste.
Bert seemed to guess what she was thinking, and said, "If it doesn't suit you, you can order it again."
Bane shook her head. She was here to explain that, not for the coffee.
"Mr. Ron, I apologize for my behavior, I have now transferred all those shares back, without keeping any money, these three cards, back to you."
"And with that he handed the three cards to Bert.
Bert did not answer, but said directly, "Tell me why."
"What?"
"You won't be held accountable for saving me."
Meaning, if she took it all, he wouldn't say anything.
After all, it was nothing to Bert.
Bane wanted the money, too, but it was too much for her conscience.
"I wouldn't leave anyone dead, and I didn't know you were all right."
Taking money away from a seriously ill person, she couldn't be at ease with it.
"But that's when you need money, and so does Sophie."
Bane's face softened as he spoke of Sophie.
"Thank you, Mr. Ron, I can afford Sophie's medical bills now, and to tell you the truth, I've done a few selfish things."
A look of embarrassment came over Bane's face.
Of course, Bert knew what she was doing with the two hundred thousand dollars, but he never paid any attention to it.
Bert wouldn't say anything about the two hundred thousand, or the three hundred and one.
He was only beginning to notice the woman before him now.
Bane's face was not pointy, but oval, a little baby fat, with large, watery eyes, and long, bushy lashes, a little raised tail, which added a touch of charm to her simple, lovely face.
The person that is mixed with caresses in so pure, let a person move most, but she seems to be not clear from the bottom of oneself that unique charm, smile of her, eyebrow eye takes a smile, very easy to infect others.
Bert pressed his lips. Suddenly he thought of the night, and though he had seen nothing, it felt impossible to fake it.
The woman had a slender figure, but her loose clothes made her figure invisible.
"Mr. Ron?"
Bane called Bert in a low voice.
Bert's eyes were terrible now, deep as the water, and Bane's back was beginning to sweat. Bert looked like a hungry beast.
Bert's eyes narrowed, his lips moved, and he made a hoarse sound.
"Why are you in prison?"
Bane gasped.
"You investigated me?"
Bert calmly took a sip of his coffee before him. "Norton's very fond of you," he said. "I must watch out."
If Tom had been here, he would have shouted that Bert was lying! Obviously, he was curious about Bane, so he went to investigate.
Bane bit her lip, a gesture that Bert did not know was flattering.
Bane's pink lips reddened another degree, and she licked her lower lip unconsciously in nervousness.
Causing a gust of wind and waves to rise from Bert's calm heart lake.
He picked up his coffee and took a sip.
"Don't worry, Mr. Ron, I'll keep Norton at arm's length."
No one can be treated as a bad person without being angry, and she is very fond of Norton, after all, Norton is a smart and nice boy.
Besides, she could barely be called Norton's great aunt, even if her relationship with Betsy Reed was so bad that she could not change it.
Bert looked up slightly, pointed at Bane's cup of coffee, and said, "Not some?"
The speed with which the subject changed was remarkable.
Bane had not intended to drink it, but when Bert was watching him, he took a sip.
A bitter taste hit her taste and Bane covered her mouth to keep from vomiting.
This black coffee, without any sugar, is really bitter.
Bane disliked bitter things, and if it had not been for her pride she would have vomited. She swallowed with all her might.
"Not to my taste?
Bane's eyes were red with pain, and he gave Bert a look that was not only indignant, but rather aggrieved.
Bert croaked his mouth.
"I did."
Stunned by his rudeness, Bane got to his feet, saying, "Mr. Ron, it's my fault I took your wallet without permission, and I apologize, but I've paid it back! And I saved your life. How could you do this to me? !"
"I know, but the thank-you gift is that cup of coffee, the first time I made it to someone else."
Who wants your stupid coffee!
Bane almost blurted out the words.
"Well, thank you for your hospitality! We're done with what happened before then. If you want me to stay away from Norton, I'm not going to be around Norton anymore. Anyway, we're in the same league now, and I'm not going to disturb you and Betsy Reed! That's it, I'm going home!"
Bane didn't want to stay for half a second. He wanted to leave.
"Said Bert, who was sitting there.
"Do you want the case overturned or not?"
Bane stopped short.
"Noville Hotel, Room 306."
Out of Bert's sight, there was no color left in Bane's face.
Bert stirred the coffee calmly in front of him, and an air of grace pervaded him.
But Bane's idea was not to admire.
"I don't understand you, Mr. Ron," said Ron.
Bert put down his spoon, and said dryly, "Miss Reed's got a bit of a reaction."
Bane pressure under the heart of panic, way: "what are you saying?"
Bert's eyes were full of inquiry, and he was looked at as if everything in his heart could be seen.
Bert croaked his mouth and said, "It's getting late. I'll take you home."
"Say that finish, he stood up and went directly to the door.
Bane wanted to say no, but the man was all over his face.
This man is so bossy!
"Mr. Ron, I can get back on my own, I don't bother you..."
Bert looked at Bane with an unreadable look. "No trouble," he said. "As brother-in-law, I should."
