Chapter 7 Targeted
"Huh? Don't want to do it, do you? Starting to get angry?"
Bane looked at the manager and said, "Did I do something wrong?"
"How did you get in here? Ron's company doesn't raise waste. Can you do it or not? You can't just go. Why all this nonsense? !"
Bane knew very well that he was messing with her, but she did not know why. Was it Bert's orders? But if it was him, why didn't he just fire himself?
She knelt down and slowly picked up all the papers, ready to carry her back to her seat and start over.
But there were so many papers that she could not see under them. She did not know who had put out a foot and tripped over her.
Bane fell straight to the ground, lying flat on her stomach, her ankle twisted, the pain so intense that her mind went blank.
The papers were scattered again.
One of them laughed, and then there was more laughter, and all their faces were full of sarcasm.
Bane tried to get up, but the fall was too heavy, and he got up a little and fell down again.
No one helped her up, one by one to see her joke.
Bane's heart was full of anger. She had never been a bully, but the five years in prison had taken the edge off her.
Now there was Sophie, who still needed her, who had to endure it anyway. Bane kept hinting to herself, her eyes reddening with anger and grievance.
She tried to get up, but her feet were so painful that she could not get up, and the sweat began to break out on her forehead.
Slowly, the people around began to talk about her.
"I say this person how so withdrawn, entered the prison of also no wonder, and also just come out not long!"
"Really don't know this kind of person how enter of company, think of me all afraid, you say she come on whether want to kill again?"
"This woman hit people but also escape, the most important is all in prison still trying to seduce our president? Point your face!"
"And besides, she didn't even go to university, she doesn't know how she got her face in Ron's circle or what she's done with it!"
"......"
Hearing this, Bane's heart went cold and froze.
How did these people know? She didn't!
Bane turned pale. She looked up and saw a face that he knew very well. Mill Sigrid!
The year she went to prison, this man testified against her!
This was her once bestie!
Startled, perhaps, by Bane's fierce stare, Mill took a step back and put on a harmless face. "Bane, so you're in the company, too," she said. "They asked me, but I didn't notice, so sorry...
How to do?
Everyone knew she had been in prison, and no one wanted to work with an ex-prisoner, just like she had lost her job.
Bane fought back her tears. She didn't want to cry, she didn't want to cry in front of all these people. She bowed her head and didn't say another word.
How would she stand it?
How could anyone believe her? She had been convicted just six years before, and there was no excuse for that.
Even if she was not guilty!
Just then, a man walked up to the office and silence fell instantly.
In front of Bane was a pair of black leather shoes.
'Stand up!’
A familiar voice sounded overhead.
Bane slowly raised his head to meet Bert's gaze.
She froze and did not move.
Bert frowned, and repeated what he had just said.
Reacting, Bane quickly supported the ground to get up, but her feet couldn't hold up, causing her to fall to the ground again.
At the moment of the fall, Bane unconsciously closed his eyes and did not want to land in Bert's arms.
Bert took her in his arms at once, and found her pitifully light.
When he looked down, he saw that his high ankle was indeed twisted.
Bert lifted the man to one side of the chair in a rather ungentle, customary gesture, and said, "Fell?"
Bane came to his senses and wiped away his tears. "I'm sorry, President," she said. "I'll pick it up right away and I'll try my best to do the job."
Bert pressed her shoulder, his face darkened. "Since when does Ron's Group need wounded people to work?"
Bane froze, her face blank, her eyes still red.
Her little face was also very pale and very attractive.
Bert swallowed his strangeness and looked around him.
The men bowed their heads quickly.
The manager, who was bullying Bane, rushed forward and said, "President, calm down and I will deal with this employee immediately."
A smirk appeared on Bert's lips. "Well, then, pack up and go!" He said.
The manager was instantly stunned. "President, are you, are you wrong?"
"I don't need employees with perspective eyes at Ron Group!"
It was a dig at the manager, who had seen what the man had just done to Bane.
Bert had come for a look, but he had not expected this.
He had always paid close attention to the company's system, and he would never allow such behavior to exist. He did not mean to defend Bane.
The manager panicked, "President, you give me a chance..."
'I don't want to say it twice!’
Everyone was scared and no one dared to say another word. After all, they didn't know if the president had just seen everything and they just hoped they were OK.
Bert turned and looked at Mill Sigrid. "You needn't come either!" he said.
Mill fell to her knees, but she did not dare say another word.
"Not going to work?”
One word from Bert sent everyone scattering.
And Bert went away with all the frightened eyes.
Bane's cold heart began to warm a little.
The pain in my feet disappeared a little, and I suddenly felt that life was promising again.
After that, the office was quiet, and no one dared bother Bane anymore.
After putting a simple bandage on his legs, Bane looked at the lunch box set aside, gritted his teeth, and climbed into the elevator for the CEO's office.
The office was exceptionally quiet, and the secretary didn't seem to be there either.
Bane opened the door, but there was no Bert.
"Who?"
There was a young voice in his ear, and Bane turned his head to see a small boy sitting on a couch with a computer in front of him.
She paused for a moment when she saw the little boy's face.
The boy's resemblance to Sophie made it possible, at first glance, to admit it.
