Chapter 97 Releasing
He started, raised his head, and met Bane's eyes.
Bane shook his head. "I don't need it," he said. "I make my own money, not everything."
"Bain! Don't be silly anymore, Bert Ron is really a terrible man!"
He was the bastard of Ron's family, the man who had climbed out of hell and had the whole Ron clan in his hands. There was no more simple description for him!
Bert Ron had no idea how much blood he had been through, how many lives he had on his hands, and Bane with him would be falling into the abyss!
Bane was not at all angry or embarrassed to see Ward like this. She was all calm and calm now.
"Ward, let go of your hand."
"Bain......"
'You've scratched me!
Ward let go quickly, his face apologetic.
"I know you're doing what's best for me, Ward, but you've done so much."
She sighed, releasing the words she had been carrying around for so long. "You don't have to feel that you owe me anything. You really don't owe me anything."
Ward's eyes widened wildly.
Bane looked at him with a smile. "Ward, you should live your life well. You shouldn't dwell on the past."
Ward turned a bitter corner of his mouth. "Bane, am I bothering you?"
Seeing Ward's cautiousness, Bane made up his mind and nodded gravely.
Ward turned pale in an instant. He barely stood still. Bane couldn't look and quickly looked away.
"Ward, don't waste any more of your time on me. It's unnecessary and unworthy."
"But Bane, you said we could still be friends. Can't we just be friends?"
Bane hesitated, then said, "Then I hope you really only consider me a friend."
She had suffered too much kindness from him, too much decisiveness for her to say.
Ward smiled wryly. "I'll try to think of you as just a friend, but it's all right if you don't want to be with me, Bane, but you shouldn't get involved with Bert Ron."
"I'm discreet."
The man was reassuring to her sometimes, but she was too quick to resist.
Above all, he could keep Sophie safe.
"I don't understand, Bane. Why do you insist on getting on with him when you are not a snob at all? Bert Ron is engaged! And he's engaged to someone..."
The words "your stepsister" were not uttered by Ward.
Bane nodded calmly. "I know Bert is engaged to Betsy Reed," he said.
"Then how did you..."
"Ward, don't ask. It's better not to ask, even if you're a friend."
Ward knew now that Bane had some unspoken grievance, that he had pushed it too far.
"That all right, you have what use get my place, make a phone call with me, don't total a person hard support."
Bane smiled, didn't agree or refuse, just said, "It's getting late, so I'm leaving."
Sophie and Norton are at the chateau, and they'll be worried if they don't return.
Ward stopped Bane this time and said, "Bane, I'll treat you like a friend. Please don't try to avoid me anymore."
Bane nodded faintly.
"Then I'm no longer your admirer. I'm your friend. Give me a hug. It's time to leave the past behind."
Bane smiled at this, hesitated, and, seeing Ward's relief, walked up to him and gave him a hug, while Ward whispered in Bane's ear in the intervening moments.
"Be happy, Bane. Always be happy."
Bain has some acerbity, way: "also wish you happiness."
Bert, however, happened to see Bane and Ward in their arms.
Bert's face was as ugly as it could be, and he rolled up the window to block out the sickening picture.
As soon as she was gone, he called to fetch Bane, but Bane had already left, and so had the driver who had brought her.
Knowing that Bane didn't come out with his phone, Bert came out and started looking for someone in his car. Without thinking about it, he didn't look long before he came across this scene.
Bert snickered, and comprehended why Bane had offered to send him food so readily, but, not remembering that Lakeen & Company was there, he thought that Bane was using it as an excuse to date his first love.
It was an eye-opener for him to see the man he was sleeping with the night before go out on a date with another man.
All the tenderness and delicacy that Bert had come to be so proud of vanished in that moment.
Bane shook his hand, said goodbye to Ward, and looked around the corner. Nothing was there.
She had just felt someone's eyes falling on her, perhaps by illusion.
Bane went home in a much happier mood because of Ward's relief.
But as soon as Bane walked into the house, he saw the last person he wanted to see, sitting on the sofa.
"Bert Ron?
Bert saw Bane's smile solidify at the moment he saw him, and his anger grew much stronger, but he did not show it.
"What have you been doing?
Bane looked a little uncomfortable and said, "Went outside."
"With whom?"
Bane sensed something was wrong, but still kept quiet about Ward. "No one," he said. "You're in the office, aren't you?"
"How? Can't I come back?"
Bane began to feel uneasy. She could sense that Bert was in a very unstable mood, but she did not know why.
"That's not what I mean."
"The farm is mine," said Bert coldly.
It meant, obviously, that Bane's place was his and he could come back whenever he wanted, and that she was just staying there for a while.
Bain will be in the heart of acerbity pressure go down, voice hoarse: "I'm sorry."
Sure enough, he asked himself to send food, just want to let people see her laugh.
Bert was in a better mood by Bane's low brow, which he had seen so clearly. Bane was smiling brightly in front of Ward.
And is a relaxed manner, but here he is, but a look of low eyebrows.
Almost instantly, the temperature in the living room dropped.
Myron looked nervous and worried. He didn't know why Mr. Ron had come back so suddenly, and he could tell that Bert was in a very bad mood.
