Chapter 98 Retrieving the Pendant
Myron had worked for Ron's family for decades, so he knew exactly what Bert was feeling today.
Both young master and young lady were now in lessons, and were sure not to come; so he wished only that Miss Reed would talk to master, and appease his anger.
Bane felt obstinate was no solution, so he volunteered to ask, "Are you hungry? What would you like to eat? I'll do it for you."
She had not been long in delivering the meal, but Bert came back before her, without eating, I suppose.
Bert's eyes grew very deep, and at last he said hoarsely, "Well, I'm hungry."
The tone was a little odd, but Bane didn't notice. "I'm cooking," he said.
Then she went into the kitchen.
In order to get Bert to eat quickly, Bane did not make anything complicated. He cooked three dishes at random, and then made a soup, which was a very ordinary dish.
Bert picked up his knife and fork, ate a few mouthpieces, and then laid it down, evidently without much appetite.
Bane did not say much, but did some for himself, and was about to clear the table, when Bert suddenly got up and said, "upstairs."
Bane froze and went white.
But Bert did not wait for her, and went up the stairs.
Bane's eyes went red and his body trembled.
Myron walked up to Bane and said gently, "You don't need to clean this, Miss. The babysitter came to clean it. You're not the babysitter."
But at this moment she really wished she was just a babysitter.
Bane cleared up the dishes and took them into the kitchen to do the washing.
Yeah, she didn't want to stay with Bert.
After that she had no reason to delay any longer, so she steeled herself upstairs.
She walked slowly for a long time until she reached the study, but when she looked inside, she saw that Bert was not there.
Isn't it?
She let go of the suspense and hurried back to her room.
When she went into her room, she found Bert standing in her room.
Shocked, she turned to slip away.
Bert turned quickly, and said, "Will you try another step?"
Bane stopped, her hand tight on the door handle. "You... What do you want?"
Bert took it out and threw it at Bane, who caught it quickly.
It was a sign with a key and a pendant on it.
She had lost them six years before, and the only thing her mother had left her was the pendant. She had been put in prison soon after she got home, so she did not have time to look for it. After six years in prison, she gave it up.
Her face brightened, and when Bert saw her smile, it made him feel less upset.
"Keep it. If you lose it again, I don't know if you'll find it."
He said it in a bad tone, but Bane didn't mind at all, and smiled at Bert. "Thank you."
The pendant was the only thing her mother had left her, and she blamed herself for losing it so many times that she never thought she could get it back.
After a while, Bain's face appeared a trace of doubt, can not help but ask a way: "you here, why can have my thing?"
Bert looked a little ugly and turned his head away.
It was with this that Betsy Reed replaced Bane six years ago, and Betsy made a fool of him for six years.
It was a shame he would remember for the rest of his life.
"You have fewer questions!"
Bane shut his mouth quickly and pulled back his smile, his brow low again.
Well, don't talk too much. You're not going to offend him, are you?
But when Bert saw her like this, it struck him that there was something wrong with her.
He reached out and squeezed her under the chin, forcing her to look straight at him. "What the hell were you thinking about?" he said.
Bane felt her jaw break. She gasped in pain. "I didn't think of anything."
'Humbug!
After being threatened several times, Bane could not stand it any longer and stopped, but her lips were bitten by her.
You look like you're resisting.
Bert had no idea how much Bane had resisted him.
Can't bear to even touch her?
Bert's eyes faded, and he said in a hoarse voice, "You seem to be in good spirits, then."
Bane's face went red at this, some in anger, some in shyness.
"No, I don't feel well."
"Really? But you don't look ill. '
Why is it so uncomfortable to have the energy to date your first love?
"Bert Rowan, Norton, and Sophie will soon be finished for the day."
She really doesn't want to right now, because she has two kids to deal with.
Her eyes were full of supplication.
Bert looked at her, took his hand back, said, "Not today," and went away.
Bane, on the other hand, simply crouched down, looking as if he had survived.
It wasn't long before Sophie and Norton finished their afternoon classes, and the family doctor came to check on Sophie after each class, and Sophie cooperated nicely.
Sophie has already experienced a side effect of the new drug, so the effect of the new drug is weaker for Sophie now. However, Sophie does not appear to be depressed. Sophie is still in good condition.
The sight of Sophie's twinkling eyes made Bane cringe.
When Sophie was not depressed, it was probably because she was happy. Before, she had thought she could take care of Sophie and keep her happy, but it was the first time she had ever seen Sophie look so content.
After the examination, Sophie took the medicine obediently and finally lunged at her mother, Shouting, "Mom! Didn't Dad come home this afternoon? Why did he leave again?"
"Father is always busy," Norton grumbled. "He seldom comes home."
Bane paused, then smiled and said reassuringly, "It's all right. Mom will be here for you."
As for your father, it would be better to come home less.
Sophie grabbed her mother's hand. "Mom! I've got something to show you!"
"Then he took his mother's hand and went to his studio.
Norton hastens to follow with a smile on his face. His sister is eager.
Pulling him to the door of the studio, Sophie stopped and said mysteriously, "Mom! Cover your eyes quickly."
