Chapter 59 Lost
Chapter 59 Lost
"Lucy, where are you?"
I whispered as I keep on dialing her number. She's out of reach, I badly want to talk to her. Lourd didn't get along with them and I needed to talk to him. She's not okay, I'm her friend and I feel like there's something wrong with her. I was about to leave the bed but Levi quickly stopped me. His eyes are still shut. His palm is on my stomach.
"Levi, I have to go pee." I hissed.
"It's so early, why are you so upset?"
I pulled the blanket to wrap around my body. His massive body is flaunting on his king sized bed.
"We have to go to work."
I could feel him groping for me, he didn't say a word when I entered his bathroom. Fortunately, I also have no intention of answering his questions. Even in the bathroom I still tried to call Lucy. When I gave up, I just texted Lourd and told him to call me if they had talked.
"Let's have some breakfast first."
Levi said to me seriously. I didn't lose because I couldn't find him. He values our health the most, and it is also wrong if I contradict him. I focused on the cellphone as I waited for him to finish what he was cooking. I checked some common notifications I received. Ethan's message also caught my attention.
Ethan: I'm in Manila. Let's catch up? I have to report some things for the non-profit orphanage.
I typed. I felt Levi's stealthy stare at me.
Me: Really? Alright, let's meet this afternoon.
The last thing Levi landed was a glass of milk. He sat down and I immediately put down my cellphone.
"It's Ethan. We'll meet this afternoon for the orphanage."
"I'll tell it to my secretary. If ever I can do something about it and asked for some sponsors at least."
He said putting some bacon on my plate. My eyes lit up at what he said.
"Really?" He smirked.
"That makes you smile, huh?"
I snorted and pretended to be sad again.
"You're so anxious early in the morning."
"I can't contact Lucy and Lourd. I'm just worried."
I noticed his glance. We were quiet again. But when I was restless, I also voiced the content of my mind.
"You know that we can't get married this year right?"
His eyes nailed on me. I was nervous about whatever he was thinking.
"Come here."
He compass in his hand and patted his thigh. I was upset to stand up, I was still staring at him and he himself pulled me so I fell on his thigh. His arms encircled my waist and his nose touched my cheeks. My cheeks flushed.
"Can we do it today?"
I sighed at what he said. I gently slapped his arm and his laughter exploded.
"Tomorrow?"
He insisted more. I hissed and looked at his face.
"Seriously. Lourd first."
"What if ... he wants you to get married first?"
I was silently stunned by the glass of milk. I shook awake in trance.
"That's not gonna happen."
I heard his soft chuckle in my ears. I bit my lips and played with my fingers.
"Whatever you want baby. It's all up to you. As long as I'm the one you're gonna marry."
He kissed my neck and he rested his face in it. I sighed. I felt a mixture of sadness and joy when he said that. So all day at work my mind is divided into things I should think about and things I need to do at work. I cannot focus. Fortunately and I'm going out early because I need to meet up with Ethan.
"We have a prospect place for this. I think you also need to personally see that." Ethan said arrogantly while sipping his coffee.
"Is it urgent?"
"No. It's all up to you. But it's still better if you have approval."
"And my brother?"
"Well, yes." I nodded.
"Can you just give me the address, if ever."
I immediately thought about when I could go there because I didn't want my approval to be delayed. I want to finish immediately so that the purpose of this project can continue.
"It's okay then. As long as there's a need, tell me right away. May it be financial or so."
"I can handle this." He raised an eyebrow.
"No, you've done so much already, you're hands-on unlike me. That's the only way I can help."
We've talked a lot more, the rest isn't so much about the orphanage.
"How about your brother?"
"Maybe I'll just tell him when we meet. He's kind of busy, but don't worry, he's very cooperative about this." He nodded.
The day was going down when we finished. I can't hide that even though I'm no longer part of the modeling industry, my name continues to make a lot of noise. Ever since Levi and I got back together there have been speculations.
As Levi's family is one of the prominent people in this country as much as possible I don't want to include his name in this kind of issue. And besides, I'm also considering my brother.
The complicated situation of the three of us can even create trouble in their family so that is one of the things I avoid. Weeks passed and I still had no news of my sister or even Lucy. There's just this one moment that started to open a gateway for a life that I didn't expect to I'll own.
"Aunt Matilda?"
I asked in shock when I saw him, one night when Levi and I were having dinner. I'm delighted to see her again! I could see he seemed surprised as well but I thought it was because of the same feeling we both had. Moreover, she look shock, afraid and nervous at the same time.
"How are you?" I kiss him.
"I'm great."
He turned to me. He turned to the restaurant behind us and I nod.
"He's inside. Rest room." I say sparingly. She smiled.
"You look happier now than before, hija."
"I am, aunt. How's the agency? Is it okay? I kind of miss work."
"It's never the same without you." She said sadly.
I also smiled sadly and hugged him again.
"Since I stopped touching you, your brother has changed everything. I consider you my own child."
"Yes?" Of my brother? We both seemed confused with each other.
"What do you mean? There's still Lourd." I laughed.
"Oh, don't you know hija?" My forehead furrowed.
"He left the agency. I convinced him to stay, but I think his plan is really complete. What can I do, I'm just a manager."
My eyes widened and couldn't believe what he said.
"Are you sure, tita?" He nodded. He had many more questions but my mind was left with what he had left behind. I've never been more imperative to focus attention to the others he said. Up to the car I was especially not very comfortable. I contacted Lourd for God knows how many times but still, he's out of coverage.
Me: Where are you? Please, I'm worried.
"Ava, what 's wrong? "
I ignored Levi and my full attention to the phone. I called Lucy. "What did your manager and you talked about?" He asked again.
"This is getting serious ... this is ..." I
couldn't finish what I was going to say because Lucy's line was ringing.
"You're freaking me out, baby. Please tell me what's the problem."
"Lourd quitted his job! That so unlike him, he will never do that without any reason."
I explode. My tears were welling up and I didn't know what to do. I was almost sneering at the ringing of the line. I could feel his gaze on me, he touched my legs soothing me with his touch.
"And I haven't heard from him since when? He is not okay, and I don't know what's the matter!"
"Ava ... calm down, please."
"Lucy!"
I immediately answer the answer line.
"Where are you? Do you know where my brother?"
"I-I don't know, Cy." her voice rasped and I could feel her crying. I'm especially weak, if it weren't for maybe because of Levi's calming me down I wouldn't have known.
"How about you? Are you okay? Where are you? Did Lourd tell you anything?" I kept asking questions due to extreme nervousness and anxiety.
"I-I don't know, what's going on. He told me that he wanted to be alone. The last time I tracked his phone he's around Bicol and I'm thinking he's going back in Mar De Vena." My head lighted up. I hanged up as soon as possible.
"Levi, let's go back to Mar De Vena."
I said tremblingly as I b-booked a flight online.
"Right now? What-"
"Yes. Right now!"
"Can you tell me what's happening first, you're freaking me out."
"I think that's where he went."
"Then, maybe we should give him some space first if that's what he wants?"
"No ... no, you don't understand. Please?" I begged.
I leaned my tired body on the passenger seat. He glanced at me and touched my tighs. He said nothing and picked up his phone with one hand before putting it to his ear.
"Get the chopper ready." Tension of his jaw.
Things are moving fast. Immediately, too, that night we made it home to Mar De Vena. I regardless of surprising because I did not know its own chopper family.
Levi decided to stay at their hotel. I expected Lourd to be there, but he's not around. No one saw my brother. Almost midnight when Lucy called me and said she's on her way to the hotel. I was still shocked but also woke up later. I know she's also worried as I am.
"Levi, do you think we should call the authorities now?" I asked Levi. He looked at me and seemed to be estimating what to answer me.
He cupped my face in his palms and gently kissed my lips. I sighed. I'm wrong to be confused, I'm sure nothing bad happened to him. And another, no amount of good being anxiously.
"He's fine. He'll be fine."
He simply told me. The next morning I'm still anxious about it. Ethan called me and asked if I really went home to Mar De Vena because it was my chance to see the orphanage. Although a little reluctant, I just agreed.
I thought it would be a good idea to divert my attention while Levi is doing something about Lourd's sudden disappearance.
"I'll pick you up, message me if you're done. I'll just visit the casa."
I smiled as he kissed myforehead. I also don't want him to wait here. The place for the orphanage was almost a work of art. It is only a small piece of land and when you look at it it is obviously old and neglected.
Beside the history of it being a convent it's still aesthetically beautiful. It sits on top of a plateau and from here overlooks the vast plains and the lofty mountains. I didn't know that there's a hidden gem here in Mar De Vena.
"This place is so nice, Ethan. How did you find it?"
He just winked at me and continued talking about other matters for the orphanage. Just now I was so excited, because I knew few kids would be molded by this place. This if for the children who grew up like me, like my brother.
I want them to feel loved and to feel whole even they've lost something. When we finished I sent a message to Levi to tell him he could pick me up. Ethan and I first rested by the old fountain in the middle while gazing at the beautiful view. The green surroundings are calm, if you look up the waves of clouds will meet you.
"There's your pick -me -up." I looked around for the car to arrive and thinking Levi was the one I would see coming down there it was Lourd I saw. I quickly said goodbye to Ethan and ran to the place where he was.
"Where do you come from? Some day we call why do not you answer?" I shouted at him. In her appearance nothing has changed. He's wearing a white button down shirt and a casual black shorts.
He removed his dark glasses from his eyes and stretched out both arms as if to greet me for a hug. I looked at him wickedly and slapped his hand. He chuckled and came to me. He held me in his arms and gently ruffled my hair.
My white dress flew everywhere because of the strong wind. I burst into tears as I looked into the distance. I hugged him back and slapped his back. He laughed there and let go of the hug.
"Sorry to keep you worried. I just needed some time for myself." "You could have at least texted me!"
He folded his arms and smiled at me. I stared at him once wiping a tear from my cheek. "Have you met Lucy yet? How about your brother?"
He nodded. Obvously, that's why he knew I was here.
"Look, let's go home and talk to us. Do you expect Levi made a home on the island where we were rather our formerly" I was about to get in the car but he stopped me.
