43. The chapter where no one feels jealousy
Rose
Leaving the group behind, I rushed to class, figuring I had gotten rid of the worst part, but in the end, research was not my biggest concern. Phillip decided that we would work on an observation drawing that we had been developing in the last few classes and nothing was ever right for him. He constantly corrected me and made me start from scratch, and we hadn't even begun to illustrate it yet!
When I left class at the end of the day, I felt irritated and exhausted, to tell you the truth, I was only willing to stay in my room for the rest of the night, but a message from Liam telling me that he would wait for us in the movie theater later showed me that I had no alternative.
Snorting, I sidestepped my colleagues, wondering what clothes I would wear as I walked to the villa. I was almost reaching the stairs to go up to my room when I saw Christian approaching.
" Looks like someone had a bad day," he commented, starting to walk me up.
" You have no idea," I murmured, walking with obstinate steps, "what about you? Did you return your new friend's notebooks?”
We finished the flight of stairs, starting to climb side by side to the second floor.
" No, she said I could stay until next week, so I'll be able to finish everything in peace," he explained.
If possible, that explanation made me even more irritated. Why does he need to take a girl's notebook, if his roommate has the same subjects? Doesn't he realize how inconvenient he is?
" Come on, tell me what happened. You look like you're about to explode," Christian insisted.
That's when I began to relate everything that had happened and how many times I had started the same drawing again that afternoon, taking the opportunity to get something off my chest while we went to my room. As soon as we arrived, I opened the door, throwing my bag on the desk while Christian closed the door behind him, seemingly amused by all my irritation.
" I swear, that crazy man is going to drive me crazy! It's the third week I've been working on the same drawing and he always makes me change something at the last minute," I threw myself on the bed after getting rid of my shoes.
Christian laughed at my expression and got rid of his shoes and sat down slouchy on the end of the bed, next to my feet. I was not in the mood to accompany everyone to a movie night after spending the afternoon listening to Phillip Black criticize every stroke I made.
" It can't be that bad," he tried to cheer me up.
" Campbell, this trace is not like the model. Campbell, this curve doesn't exist in the model. Campbell, this is called an eraser, and it looks like your best friend, erase and start over. He has to correct me on everything! " I imitated Phillip's annoying voice, making the boy laugh.
" Oh no, he dares to correct a rare talent like yours. Who does he think he is? Your professor? " he sneered.
I glared at him angrily, he was supposed to make me feel better, not make fun of me. But what did I expect? It was Christian I was talking about. And as he himself made sure to remind me, if in doubt, he would always be making fun of me.
" Sometimes you're a real jerk, you know that?”
Christian gave me a small smile in response, straightening himself before picking up my foot, causing me to raise my head to look at him with a questioning expression.
" I know a foot massage always cheers you up," he explained, starting to make circular motions with his thumb on the sole of my foot.
" Are you copying Van Derr Waal? " I teased him, laying back down again.
He was great with his hands, I couldn't deny that, and I knew this would help me forget all the frustration caused by my professor.
" I guarantee you that I can give you a better massage than Van Derr Waal," he applied a little more pressure, making me sigh.
" Is this some kind of competition? " I returned, closing my eyes to enjoy the massage.
Christian pulled my socks off, causing me to feel his warm fingers on my ankle, running his fingertips up my calf.
" It would be an unfair competition, Rose. I'm better than him," he declared in an arrogant tone.
A smile came to my face as I felt his hand running up my calf in an almost non existent touch.
" I can't judge that clearly," I countered as he continued to move his hand up to my knees and massage my thigh.
Leaning over me, he brushed his lips against mine in an almost nonexistent kiss as he pulled off the tight fitting sweatshirt I was wearing, removing my panties at the same time without ceremony, having abandoned my mouth and concentrated on the sensitive skin of my neck.
I caught my breath at the first contact of his fingers on my clit, moving over it in a slow rhythm as the tip of his tongue ran the length of my jugular.
" I doubt you'd get that wet with a massage from him," Christian whispered in my ear.
No, I wouldn't. Not even close, but I wouldn't give him the pleasure of hearing me confirm it.
" Maybe I will, there's no way of knowing," I glared at him, smiling at his expression.
One of his characteristic smiles appeared on his lips before he trailed his kisses down my body, still covered by the sweater I was wearing. Christian nibbled on the part of my breasts that was exposed by my cleavage, not wasting much time there, continuing his advance southward, gradually increasing the rhythm of his finger movements.
I could no longer contain my moans when his mouth joined his fingers, spreading an indescribable sensation of pleasure through my body. I ran my nails along his scalp, feeling the soft texture of his hair under the palm of my hand as his tongue worked ardently to guide me to paradise.
" Damn it, Christian, how can you be so good at this? " I groaned, squeezing my eyes shut as I arched my back, moving my hips against his lips.
The urgency grew in me with each second, and to my displeasure, he pulled away, again capturing my lips in an urgent kiss, again manipulating my clit with his fingers.
" Tell me you have an easy condom," I whimpered, running my hand up the inside of his shirt, clinging his body to mine.
" If that were the case, I'd be inside you already, Campbell," he nibbled on my neck, and I felt pressure as he sucked on my skin.
It didn't take long before my insides began to contract and spasms spread through my body. It took a few seconds before I recovered from my orgasm, feeling Christian slide his hand up the inside of my sweater, cupping my breast, before whispering in my ear.
" I doubt Van Derr Waal is any better than this.”
Still panting, I opened my eyes, turning my face to face him.
" I don't know, I'd have to try it to compare," I blinked at him before reversing our positions, climbing on top of him, feeling his erection.
Before I could finish my sentence, a knock on the door caused us to freeze in that position. Christian motioned for me to stay still, rising to kiss me. But the knocking became insistent, making me snort.
" Rose, it's Brook, I need to borrow a jacket, come on, I know you're there, I heard you talking " a girl from a room down the hall called from the other side of the door " Rose…”
" I'm getting changed, I'll be right there," I yelled in frustration, getting up from the bed while Christian took a deep breath, as frustrated as I was, "wait for me in the bathroom, it'll be weird if you're here while I get dressed.”
I warned, grabbing my sweatpants that were lying on the floor, putting them on anyway while Christian locked himself in the bathroom. Checking that everything was in place before opening the door, he let two girls into the room.
" Sorry, I was changing after class," I said, trying to get rid of them both quickly.”Which jacket do you want?”
" I'll wear it with that flowered dress you like," she warned, "I thought of that turquoise one.”
" Okay, you can borrow it," I opened the closet door, reaching for it among my clothes.
" I heard that you're going to Brittany's movie today, is that true? " Ellen, the girl who was accompanying Brook, probed me. Probably wanting a chance with Liam.
" Yes, we're all going" I finally found my jacket, taking it off the hanger.
" Even Davis? " she insisted, making me hesitate for a second.
Why does she care about Christian when Liam will also be there? I forced a smile, turning to her, trying to disguise my discomfort.
" Yes, he will. Why? “
" Do you think he would agree to meet me? I think he's so…”
" Wow... I don't know," I interrupted her, not feeling comfortable talking about the guy who had been in my bed a few minutes ago.
" Can you introduce us? I know most girls want to meet Van Derr Waal, but Christian seems to have a lot to offer, if you know what I mean," she insisted, making me squirm inside, knowing that at that moment I couldn't make up any excuses, not to mention that he is gay!
" Ahh sure... I'll introduce you " my tone was forced and uncomfortable " but now I need to take a shower to get ready.”
" Thanks Rose, I'll tell you all the details later " she hugged me.
" I really don't need details," I forced a smile, saying goodbye to both of them.
As soon as I closed the door, Christian came out of the bathroom with a smug smile on his face.
" So, is she pretty? " he asked, approaching me.
I stared at him for a second, controlling the temper that threatened to dominate my answer.
" You'll just have to wait and find out, Davis," I winked at him.
Christian stepped closer, wrapping his hands around my waist, pulling my body into his, bringing his lips to my neck, clearly wanting to continue where we left off, but the mood for me was over.
" You know, you'd better save all your energy for Ellen, her expectations are high, you'd better not disappoint," I sidestepped his touch and walked over to the desk, where my purse lay, starting to take things out.
" I won't disappoint, thank you for caring," Christian crossed his arms, staring at me with a questioning expression.
" It wasn't me who was complaining earlier, Davis. In fact, we agreed this would never happen again, remember? " I returned in a petulant tone.
Christian just stared at me, trying to understand what was going on there, and this reaction only irritated me more.
" I'll see you later? " he probed me.
" Sure, after all there is someone I need to introduce you to," I returned.
I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous. I repeated mentally.
" Okay, see you then. See you later then." He said goodbye in a hesitant tone.
I waited for him to leave the room, closing the door behind him before I let out all the pent up irritation inside me. I picked up my can of paint brushes from the desk and threw them hard against the wall, holding back the urge to scream.
I AM NOT JEALOUS!
I sat down on the floor next to my bed, still feeling irritated.
That wasn't jealousy. It was just hoping that the person would be sensible enough not to talk about another girl when in bed with me!
