44 - The chapter with the green jujubes
Rose
I spent a few minutes there before getting up, deciding to take a shower and get ready for the show that night. If he wants us to go out with other people, that's what's going to happen!
Wearing tight pants and a green sweater with a nice neckline, I let my hair down in an attempt to hide the purple mark Christian had left on my neck earlier and went downstairs to meet everyone.
Ellen didn't wait for me to introduce her to Christian, sitting down on a futon next to him. Liam was with Brittany in a prime spot, ignoring Harry and Skyller who were in the background. Theo hadn't arrived yet, but just ahead of Christian I found an empty seat, and I didn't mind taking it. What I least wanted was to spend the evening having to watch him and Ellen make out.
" Hey, mind if I sit here? " I caught the eye of the red-haired, blue-eyed guy who was sitting alone on a futon that would fit two people.
I felt Christian's gaze on me, but ignored it, settling down next to the guy, whom I knew from somewhere. Yes, he was Taylor Ashford, Harry's friend, and he seemed surprised by my decision to keep him company.
" Not at all, it would be my pleasure," he smiled before taking something from beside him, then offering it to me.
I took the bag of candy, smiling fully as I observed the boy, he was handsome and the little contact I had with him was pleasant. I wouldn't take the risk of ending up in a hole like Anderson.
" I love jujubes, the red and purple ones are my favorite," I whispered when the lights were turned off, taking one of the jujubes and popping it in my mouth.
With my peripheral vision I could see Ellen with her hand on Christian's thigh, saying something in his ear, but if she was having any success, he disguised it well, as he kept watching me. Little did he care about the attention of his companion or the movie that was unfolding on the screen.
But as for that, hardly anyone was willing to pay attention to the movie, since most of the people there were in company.
" Red and purple? You eat anything that isn't green, Rose," Christian leaned forward, teasing me after a few minutes.
I turned my face just enough to look at him, offering him a provocative smile, moving even closer to Taylor.
" You're right, when it comes to jujubes, I hate the green ones, thanks for reminding me, Davis," I returned.
" I can keep all the green ones, no problem," Taylor assured him, taking the bag from my hand, choosing a purple one before handing it to me.
I noticed Christian turning his attention to Ellen, whispering something in her ear, causing her to stifle a small giggle. Trying not to be irritated by this interaction, I turned my attention to Taylor, who was watching the movie.
" Hey, Ashford. I have a Green Jujube here" I caught the boy's eye.
He looked in my direction, raising both eyebrows at the sight of me clenching the candy in my teeth before a smile came to his lips. His hand came to the back of my neck, pulling my face toward him. His lips pressed against mine as I pushed the jujube into his mouth with the tip of my tongue.
His free hand went up my thigh, pulling my body closer to his, his tongue dancing next to mine for a few seconds before he pulled away with a satisfied smile on his face.
" This is an interesting way to eat jujubes.”
" You know, if we ever get out of here, I can show you some even more interesting ways," I winked at him, and he didn't hesitate to get up, holding the bag of bullets in one hand and my hand in the other, looking as if he couldn't believe his luck.
Not resisting, I gave Christian one last look, seeing the boy with his attention fixed on the movie and a serious expression on his face, not paying attention to the fact that I was leaving there with him.
