I wake late in the night. Kendra is asleep still on top of me., her head resting sweetly on my chest. I seem to have stopped growing. I know I must be a foot taller. No one has come back to check on me. If they did and looked on us sleeping, I know they would not dare come in.

I open the cabin door for her to go out. The vampires are outside with a small army of vampires and wolf hunters. Mother and Chuck are both outside talking to them. Chuck waves us over.

“How are you feeling?” Chuck asks.

“I feel okay, other than I have grown a foot. I am going to need clothes, that is for sure.” I say.

Chuck looks up to me for the first time. It feels weird being this large. Andrea comes over to me. He is a colossal vampire, but now we are on equal footing.

“Damn, you know you will probably getting even bigger when you turn for the first time,” Andrea says.

“It is a little late for that now. You will probably turn on the next full moon. Make sure you are somewhere safe and chained until everyone knows how you will react. The first time will be the hardest. You need to get in touch with some wolves to help you learn to turn on command. There is a pack that we work with some, they are not far from here. Good pack, the Alpha is a good man. I will help you get in touch with him,” Andrea says.

“I thought you guys hated wolves?” I ask him.

“Not all of them, just ones like the moon pack,” Andrea says.

“Did you get all of them tonight?” I ask.

“We got everyone except the Alpha. All of the women are free. Your mother is finding them a place to go,” Andrea says.

“Alpha is still out there?” Kendra asks.

“Yes, but there are a lot of people here to protect you, don’t worry, you are safe,” Andrea says.

The look on Kendra’s face breaks my heart. I know he is a brutal wolf.

“Stay close to me; you will be fine,” I say to her.

“I do not want to be alone until the vampires find him,” Kendra says.
