Eulandia: My home
[This is a start of a beautiful, romantic arc we've all been waiting for!]
I must hate planes.
I have a jet lag for which I can't understand why is it still evening around here. Aaron was quite alright, giggling and indulging in impulsive purchases all around the airport stores. Even if we came from the private lounge, we still had to mingle with the decent public around in the airport.
Talk about being humble even if you're a princess of this kingdom.
Today, I chose not to wear my goggles and scarf. I had nothing to hide in here, like the American society. I was safe. The safest I can be compared to any part of the world.
Slowly, whispers started to fill in.
"Doesn't she look like our lost princess?"
"What's with the lost princess thing, Eugene? She's our princess! I can see it in her eyes! And who's that with her?"
"Maybe her boyfriend." The couple behind us talked, thinking they were whispering pretty low. I was amazed to know they don't know who Aaron was yet. When I see his disappointed face, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh my goodness, She's so pretty! I want to take a picture with her—"
"You may!~" Saying, I turn around to watch them squeak in morbid fright.
"Come on now, pull out your cellphones!" Oh Jesus, my European accent was flourishing here!
Even Aaron stood struck by my change of accent.
We take a few pictures with the commoners. They weren't pushy and respected our space.
As we made it to the outside, there were three royal cars all parked in a line.
When we appear, hand above our forehead to block the sun of 7pm, I wave in the air enthusiastically.
Gerrard walks towards us, a bunch of security behind him. Throwing my bag of clothes below, I run towards him who lifts me in the air with ease and twirls.
"So good to see you, princess! Ah~ I can't believe I'm watching a Skiez, in flesh and blood!" Gerrard says, Aaron introduces himself. Purposefully, Aaron was using his tone an octave lower than his usual speaking voice. It doesn't take a genius to guess what's going on in his silly head.
"Careful with growing too close to my girlfriend, Gerrard. I'll pluck your eyes out like petals." Aaron warns him in the softest way possible for him. Smirking, Gerrard and I put our hands across each other's shoulders. Gerrard performs his infamous smolder, he teases my man.
"I wouldn't be too worried of being too late, buddy. When we were younger, we planned on getting married together. You're too late in the picture, perhaps." Aaron squints his eyes and his reaction was priceless.
"Yeah right. Let's see then." The man towers over both of us.
"Okay, okay! Stop it you two! Let's go back home and continue this. It's embarrassing to let people see who's fighting over the princess." My words make the two boys cut their staring competition.
Anyway, Gerrard and I were seated in the backside while Aaron was forced to sit in the front, beside the driver. I felt sad for doing that to him, especially with the blinders which separated the royals sitting behind and the driver.
I can hear him murmuring curses at us already. But what can I do? I had too much to talk with my best friend. 10 years worth of tea.
As we reach the premises of the palace, we see many people living around the citadel. Eulandia and its kingdom was as old as time. Their roots with ancestors would never fade, even if they had adapted pretty well to modernity too.
"Wow, the city's changed so much." I briefly remember the sight from my departure from here, 12 years ago. (I just remembered Ravine is 25 now ksksksk)
The wells and ponds still remained, nothing changed much except for the fact that car tyres didn't go through mud and dirt anymore. It was a cemented road, just this one which connected to many important and royal places like guesthouses and other facilities of the royals.
My heart was pounding out of my chest. We were nearing to the palace.
To my surprise, all my royal relatives were stationed outside. Gerrard might have informed them. After all, Gerrard is the royal advisor to the whole of Eulandia. People ought to have immense respect for him.
Some faces were sad, some were happy to see me come back home. And some... were disappointed towards me.
I get down the car, walking empty handed towards my parents. The huge mahogany doors standing 5 meters tall and 3 meters wide was held open. My parents, the King and Queen of Eulandia stare at me while walking towards them. The stairs felt incredibly hard to pass today. A million thoughts roamed in my head, which I couldn't get rid of.
"My lovely daughter..." Mother held pain and longing in her eyes. I can't say it was for show, there were no media here for her to fake her tears.
"It's good to be home." I say, accepting her holding my cheek.
I look to father. He was only staring at me.
Without a word said to me, he walks away into his castle.
I don't understand his thoughts at all. They're absolutely irrational.
But... I don't hold any grudges against them now. Somehow, everything I had against them for the past 12 years began to fade away.
I suddenly realise... that my failures were because of my own decisions.
Having a toxic relationship in the past was my decision. To stay with him was worse.
But getting into the literary side of pornography... was the bets decision I ever made. I don't regret that at all.
Preparing myself to face father, I begin to walk inside the palace.
Nothing's changed.
The tall throne in the middle of an elevated space was still the same. The twelve chairs were the same, six on each side of the king's throne. The two doors on either side were the same light brown in color, one for the common library for the people and one for the residence of the royals all inside.
If magnificence was a structure, it would be this palace.
It belonged to both, the royals as well as the commoners.
This... is the Kingdom of Eulandia.
My home.
