Chapter 19
Thea's Point of View
The loud ring of my phone and what Megan said made me drop the capsule I was holding. Megan took the phone from the table and answered it herself when she saw that I wouldn't pick it up.
She pressed the green button, and turned on the speaker.
"Where are you?" The first question Craig asked me.
I said nothing. What is going on hurts my brain. I don't remember recalling any of my memory. Is it because of this pill?
"Thea, please talk to me." I could tell by the way he spoke that he was anxious.
“Why?” I said it with reluctance. As he sighed, I could hear his relief on the other end.
"I'll come to get you. The event is over." Even though I didn't care, he told me.
It's unfair. With those unassured words, it felt like all the anger I had been holding in has gone.
Is that how things really are? Why did he seem to have to kiss another girl in front of his wife? Even if I just happened to catch them that way by chance, still, why wasn't his wife's name called on the day they were both supposed to be the most important people because it was their companies?
Why...
Why didn't he do what he said he would do? 'I'll tell the whole world how beautiful my wife is. Of how kind and thoughtful she is.'
Funny.
“What does it mean? So, you didn't notice I wasn't in the hall until the event was over? Or maybe you didn't notice I was gone because you were going to be comforted by someone else...”
I thought about telling him those things, but I didn't. It makes me feel like I'm walking on an eggshell that could break at any time and kill me. My chest gets tight when I have different feelings, and I get headaches when I don't know what to think.
"Today I'm not going home."
The only thing I told him was that. Just in case he was going to follow me, I double-checked my phone to see if it had a tracking device or GPS.
“Babe, what? Why?” I can imagine him making another frown. He always seems like that.
Just a simple expression... I know about it.
"Are you really my husband? You should know where to look for me, right?" I put a cloud over what I said because, even though he's my husband, I can't say I don't have my doubts about him. Even more so now that Megan knows what medicine Joana is giving me.
I hung up and turned off my phone so that he couldn't call me again.
"Why don't you go home?" Megan asked, putting on a sly smile.
“No.” I sat back in my chair and put my arms across my chest.
“Let's go then! If you can't go home, wouldn't it be better to have fun to pass the time?”
I narrowed my eyes because I thought she felt bad that Craig was upset.
It was impossible to say no to her idea, so I asked, "Where are we going?"
She smiled wider and her eyes sparkled. "Don't be worried! I'll take care of you!"
After she said that, the server came with the food she had already ordered.

After we were done eating, we talked for a while and then took a break. It's already dark when we leave the restaurant. Maybe the owner of the restaurant was upset with how long we stayed there.
When we went outside, there were two guards waiting for us. A white Mercedes-Benz E-Class that he was in charge of.
She called them when? I didn't know she called or texted anyone because she kept telling me stories about when we were classmates and friends.
And at the very least, I can say that I can count on someone. Even though my brain doesn't remember her, my heart does. I feel comfortable around Megan, as if I've known her for years.
The key was thrown at her by the bald guard. The young guard slid the door open for the driver seat. Once Megan was inside, he opened the other door. I went in, and he shut the door.
As I put my seatbelt on, I asked Megan.
"Can you tell me where we are going?"

Thea's Point of View
"You'll soon find out."
I furrowed my forehead before she continued, "So, what are you thinking? Aren't you only worried about Joana? Why do you avoid Craig too?"
"..."
"I know you don't trust him, but I'm not sure why you need to stay away from him," she shrugged. "You should have taken his heart to find out more."
The Mercedes-Benz was already in her hands. I turned side to face her. My eyes got bigger because she gave me an idea that answered all of my questions.
"So, what is it exactly? Why do you avoid him?"
At first, I didn't want to answer, so I didn't say anything while she drove. But after a while, I spoke up. I can always count on Megan. "I saw him kissing someone else."
I was looking out the window when she stepped on the break all of a sudden. I hit my head on the car's front window. I was lucky that I had my seatbelt on. When I turned back, I saw cars in the back honking.
"Are you out of your mind?!"
Taking a break on the highway when there are a lot of cars around? Because of what she did, we might have an accident.
“What?!?” She made an "O" with her lips, as if she was surprised.
"Do you know how to drive a car at all?! Do you want me to forget all the new things I've learned again? I already have amnesia, and I still don't remember what I forgot." My eyes rolled.
She gave me a smile and honked the horn to annoy me and the people behind us. If there was a class that taught how to tease well, this woman should sign up and get a Bachelor's degree in teasing with a major in fooling.
"You should be feeling a lot better now!"
"What the hell?! How could I?! I almost died!"
"No! I'm talking about Craig. It's no longer cool to be a martyr. Shouldn't you show him that you can do the same thing he did to you?"
“Huh? Are you nuts? I'm not that low-class that I would do something like that. I'm married to him." I don't agree with her idea.
She put her attention back on the steering wheel and kept driving. "I didn't tell you to kiss other guys, that's for sure. Why not make him jealous? Demonstrate that you can do what he did. You'll just frighten him."
I didn't say anything back, I just put my head on the window again.
When we got off the freeway, Megan drove her car down the dark road. We moved quickly through it until we got to the end and could see a lot of light.
She parked her car next to the road, just like everyone else. People are loud, there are a lot of sellers, and people are walking around and shopping, but the name of a big bar stands out the most.
The name is "Wild Rover Pub".
"What are we doing here?"
We already took our seatbelt off.
"Is there anything else? Have a good time!" She shouted with joy.
"If we were dressed like this, would they let us in?" I kept an eye on everyone outside the bar. Air tubes and skirts are too short and they don't hide much of their skins.
I also looked at the dark part and saw two people kissing. The woman's dress was torn, her legs were up on the man's waist, and both of her hands were around the man's neck.
"I already have a husband. I have to leave. We should go home." I said, not quite sure what to do. I'm afraid that someone will know who I am.
Craig's reputation will suffer, and his image will be hurt. How will he respond about this? Or do people react?
'The wife of the new CEO of the Coalesce Nova Group walks into a pub full of free men and women.'
"Don't worry, I won't let anything bad happen to you."
I didn't agree, even though Megan had already told me that. Even though she knocked on the window over and over, I didn't get out of the car. I didn't leave.
As she knocked again for the last time, my phone lit up.
A number of unknown person has shown up.
'+373739 sent a picture.'
I was mad because I had solely given Megan my phone number. Also, Craig is the only one who has my phone number. When I first opened it, the picture was still loading, and the message above it was just an emoji of a heart. Since I think my internet was broken, I went out to talk to Megan.
“What? Will you come with me?" She asked happily.
“No. Please, let me connect to your mobile data. I got a picture from a number I don't know, but I can't see it." I told her this while still clicking on the picture in case the content showed.
She took her phone out of the pocket of her torn jeans and connected it to mine because she was irritated. I refreshed the message when the data connected, and the picture slowly showed up.
I held my phone tighter because of the picture I had seen. In that picture, Craig was laughing and talking to Felicity. At the event, the picture was taken early in the day by someone. I'm right about what I think. Since he's busy with other things, he won't notice that I'm not in the hall. Almost certainly, he gave the sender my phone number.
Megan looked at my screen and grimaced at what she saw. I gathered my courage and gave her a smile. "How can we show what you have planned? That I'll show him I can do what he did?"
