Chapter 18
Thea's Point of View
"Sorry, boss!" The horrified man said as Rayleigh was still holding his clothes.
"Are you their leader?" Rayleigh asked Megan with his cold tone, so much different the way he talks to me.
“So?” Megan raised her one eyebrow.
"If you can get a bunch of trash together, you should also know how to keep them in line."
Rayleigh pushed the man away and the man quickly ran away, hiding to Megan's back.
"Forgive me, your majesty." Megan acted like she was giving respect to a royal person.
As Rayleigh tried to get over Megan's mocking, he tightened his jaw and gawked at her.
"Enough already, you two!" I laughed at how picky Rayleigh was. "You can go back now, Rayleigh. Don't tell anyone where I am, please."
“No. I won't just leave you here, to this..." He took a moment to scan the whole area and continued, "Kind of place."
"Don't worry, Your Majesty. I won't let anything bad happen to Thea, so go. Shoo!” Megan gestured her hand like she was making him leave like a dog.
He looked at me worriedly, and I just nodded. Megan put her arm around me and talked to him, "I told you, there's no need to be concerned about it."
"..."
When he couldn't think of anything else to do and say, he sighed and pinched my nose. "Alright. I'm going to go now."
He peered at Megan with suspicious demeanor, "When bad things happen, at least I know where I'm going."
He took his phone out of his pocket and pointed it at us. Before we could react, I already heard the shutter click.
"As evidence." He smirked and then went back to his car.
"That fool!" Megan was about to chase him but I stopped her and laughed even more. They're like cats and dogs who could not be alone.
After a few minutes of blubbering about how she hated Rayleigh, she finally calmed down and asked me. "Why did you agree to meet me?"
"I'm curious about something. Only you can help. I'm really confused about—"
“No! I'm not going to!" She put her hand around herself like she was trying to cover her chest.
“Huh? What are you doing exactly?" I'm puzzled.
"Don't you want to find out who you really are? Or if you're lesbian?" She answered my question with a puzzled look just like I did.
"What in the hell are you talking about?!?" I looked around to see if anyone had heard what she said. "I don't mean it like that! What the heck is with you?!"
"Oh! Then, what is it?"
"Craig's mom had already talked about arranged marriages. I don't know if that's true or not. I think she said that because she's just mad at me."
"Whose marriage?"
“Me.”
“What? How?”
"I'd like to know that too. Didn't you ever meet Craig when we are still always together? Didn't I open a topic about him to you in the past?" A series of hopeful questions came out of my mouth.
“No. We're together all the time, but you've never told me about him."
I stared intently at Megan but it seems like what she said is true.
My feelings of intuition, fear, and suspicion grew stronger. I didn't want to believe what mommy Lily said because I knew that the things Craig showed me were real. So that can't be true.
Impossible.
Impossible.
I'm hoping...

We went into a cheap restaurant and found a place to sit. We kept talking until the topic went to Mason and aunt Joana.
"When the accident happened. What did Aunt Joana do for me? I found out that she was my dad's mistress."
"What could be the reason? She must have take care of you because of the company."
“Huh? What do you mean?"
"Of course, Mason is your half-brother, so the inheritance will have to be split!" She wandered her eyes around the people and brought her face close to mine and whispered. "Didn't you know? When you got into an accident, someone said that they were to blame. The paparazzi said they wanted to run your business for themselves!"
My heartbeat sped up. Why do I think bad things are going on behind me that I don't know about?
Megan got even closer to me and whispered even more quietly. "I really think that's why they're taking care of you in the hospital: so no one will suspect them!"
Everything Megan says makes sense. When we went to the party, the paparazzi asked us about this issue. I just didn't notice because Craig led me right straight to the hall. And the fact that their name is being called out on stage when I should be that person!
When I think about it, my head still gets hot and my blood is still boiling.
"Help me!" I said.
The waiter or waitress came up to us and gave us the menu. I waited for Megan to decide what to eat before moving on.
"Help me!" I repeated.
"What's that?"
"My thoughts are full of questions. I'd like to know each one individually. I'm suspecting them all, including Craig..."
"Suspecting?"
"Yeah... From Aunt Joana to Craig... my husband."
"Care to share?"
"Craig has done a lot to make me not trust him. The first was in the garden, when he talked to someone. The second was when Aunt Joana called. The third was when he kissed Felicity, and the fourth was when she didn't call my name when my company merged with another. I am the head of the company. I'm his wife..m"
"What kind of help do you need? I can't help you with money. Even though I'm pretty, I don't have any money," she laughed as she bit her nails, which were clean. Even though Megan is rich, I don't know why she lives the way she does now.
"I want to discover everything. I'm scared that if I am finally able to learn everything, something bad will happen to me."
When I thought about the medicines my aunt Joana had given me, Megan did nothing but listen.
'Start with something that makes you suspicious to find the truth.'
I took it out of my bag after rummaging around in it. There are still three more capsules. It's the same drug my doctor usually gives me to help me remember things more quickly.
"Aunt Joana gave me these."
Megan took it in her hands and held it up to look at it. She moved it up behind me because the sun was shining there.
"Wait..." She said while focusing.
I was surprised when she put her hands down on the table and opened a plastic bag that only had medicine in it. She picked one up and put it backup to the sun.
When she looked at me, her eyes were filled with fear. As she slowly and shakily opens the capsule, there is another capsule in it.
My heart beat ran faster.
It is red at the top, white in the middle, and red at the bottom. Megan gave it to me as her hand was shaking.
"These are benzodiazepines," she said nervously, with a shocked look on her face.
"What does it mean?" I replied, "I have no idea.
"This is known as amnesia pills. It is a drug that is not prescribed by a doctor. Most of the time, people use prescription drugs like this because it can make them forget. If she gave you these. Only one thing makes sense. She wants to keep your memories from coming back."
As soon as Megan said it, I dropped the pill I was holding, and then my phone rang.
