Unexpected visitor

"REMEMBER that woman's face, you shouldn't approach her if you're not with me." Danica sternly instructed the child as she stroked her soft hair.

"Why, Mommy?" Daniela asked her mother in confusion. She got a feeling that the woman from earlier was actually kind.

"She's evil and she wants to snatch Daddy from us. She's the reason why your daddy and I didn't get married yet."

Daniela was suddenly sad for her mother when she saw that she was sad. She hugged her tightly. "She's bad, I will tell Daddy to stay away from that woman, Mommy."

"No!" she strongly rebuked the child. "Daddy will get even angrier with me and get upset. Do you want Daddy and I fight because of you?"

Daniela shook her head a few times as an answer to her mother. She did not want her mother to be angry with her and she did not want them to separate. Because Danica had always told her that if they separate, she would leave as well, and she would never see her father again.

"Good girl!" Danica smiled up to her ears before giving the child a kiss on the cheek.

Danica orders Rochelle to look at where Nicole is now. When she made sure that she was in her own office, she developed a plan with Daniela. A demonic smile was on her lips as she led the little girl to the elevator.

"Come in," not raising her head, Nicole let in the person who knocked on her door.

The door opened, but Nicole heard no footsteps enter her office so she looked up. Gradually, a smile formed on her lips as a cute girl appeared before her eyes.

"Hello, what are you doing here and who are you with?" Nicole stood up and approached the child. She wanted to hug her, but was stunned to notice who was the person standing behind her.

"I want you to stay away from my dad. I don't like you, so stay away from my daddy. He will get married with my mommy soon."

It was as if a dagger had pierced Nicole's heart when she heard what her daughter said. She could sense the child's dislike for her and openly dislike her because she thinks she was a stealer. She gritted her teeth and turned her gaze to Danica. She clenched her fist that was hidden behind her. She wanted to slap Danica's face, but she has to restrain her emotions. She will not let her know that she was hurt or affected by the child's feelings for her.

Danica carefully examined the expression on Nicole's face. But she was good at hiding her true feelings. When Nicole straightened her posture, she grinned at her. She looked at her teasingly and she knew she was being laughed at.

"At first, you used your friend to tell me who you are in Steven's life. And now?" Nicole shrugged.

Danica clenched her fists and felt insulted by what Nicole wanted to convey to her.

"I never thought you were that weak," Nicole chuckled. "Are you that desperate? How I wonder why you're not married yet even though you have a child?" She laughed.

Even Danica's ears were red with anger. But instead of going crazy and hurting the woman, she smiled at her. "And do you think Steven will have an interest in you besides being your business partner? I'm the one who became pregnant with his child and yet I haven't been able to get married with him because of business, can you?"

Nicole approached Danica and whispered to her, thus Daniela could not hear. "We'll see! I'm the type who loves challenges."

"Don't you dare, Bitch!" she hissed.

Nicole quickly pulled herself away from Danica and turned her attention back to her daughter. "Princess, you're too young to talk to me like that. Besides, me and your dad are just good friends. Don't take it seriously, whatever your mother says, because she was just hallucinating." She gently explained to the child.

"How dare you to say that to my daughter!" Danica's voice rose slightly because she was irritated with Nicole. Fortunately, they are far away from other employees and they are not noticed.

"And who is such a good mother to teach her child to act like this toward her elder? You're selfish, why would you plant anger in the heart of a naive child?!" Nicole's tone became sharp. And if only stares could wound a person, she was sure that Danica would have bathed in her own blood.

Danica didn't know what to say because of the fact Nicole stated. She was right, she became selfish, but she never admitted that to herself.

"Who's going to come here next just to tell me that I don't have a chance to get into Steven's life?" Nicole asked Danica sarcastically.

"I hate you! Don't talk to my mom like that!" Daniela angrily pushed the woman in front away from her mother.

Danica made her expression sadder for the girl to see. So that she will be angry with the woman in front of her and it will seem like Nicole bullied her.

Nicole raised both hands in front of the child and stepped back. She was hurt when she pushed her away, but her face remained emotionless.

Danica quickly took the child away before anyone could notice them there. She didn’t want Steven to know that she went to Nicole’s office, particularly that she even brought his daughter with her. She didn't want to repeat what happened with Rita.

Nicole let out a deep sigh when the two were no longer in front. The tears that had been wanting to fall could not be stopped from dripping from her eyes now. She decided to call Sean to alleviate the sadness she felt because she misses him.

Mang Kanor was the one who answered her call and was worried because her voice was hoarse.

"She's really doing everything to destroy your image with your daughter. She's even using Daniela to discourage you." Mang Kanor made an angry comment after hearing Nicole's story.

Sean frowned as he secretly listened to his mother and grandfather talk. He was sure that his sister who is in their father's care was the one they were talking about. He can see the sadness on his mother's face because of his twin.

Nicole felt a little better after talking to her foster father. She told him she didn't want to disturb her son's sleep.

Sean went back in his room when his grandfather dropped the call. He can also help his mother get closer to his sister the next day. It will be time for school and he is going to make sure he gets to be friends with his sister.

Madam Asuncion became interested in her grandson's new business partner. She already knew that she looked like Daniela's real mother, thus she had a glimpse of a new hope that their clan would have a male heir.

All the employees who passed by the old madam quickly bowed their heads. Even as an old woman, she still has the reputation of a strict and dominant member of the Scout family.

"Why would she visit her grandson's new partner?" an employee whispered to her companion when they saw where the old woman was going.

Some of the colleagues also asked each other. It just so happened that the madam personally visited an employee of the company.

"Ma'am, Madam Asuncion is coming," Nicole's assistant, Brenda, informed her.

Nicole quickly adjusted herself and thanked Brenda. She prayed to herself that she would not be like Rita who is quick to judge the character of others even if they didn't really know her.

"Good afternoon, Madam!" Nicole bowed her head to greet the old woman as she entered her office. She couldn't help but feel nervous by the way she looked at her.

"I read the news involving you and my grandson." The Madam looked straight at the young lady, it was intense.

"I am sincerely sorry if your family had a problem because of that." She immediately apologized to the old woman.

"I'm here to tell you something. Not that I'm happy with the issue, but I want you to know that I don't care about that."

Nicole wanted to raise an eyebrow and was a bit confused by the pace of the conversation between them. She was shaken by her cold stares, but she feels that she was not mad at her at all.

"What do you think of my grandson?"

"Yes?!" Nicole's eyes widened slightly and she couldn't believe the other person's direct question.

"I just want to know what you think of Steven as a man and not as a business partner."

Nicole swallowed her own saliva and her heart beat faster because of the old woman's question. She was like that when she remembered the young man's kiss on her.

The corner of her lips lifted when she noticed the change in the color of the young lady's cheek. "When you kissed him, what was his reaction?"

Nicole's eyes widened and her cheeks grew redder because of the embarrassment. "How did you know there was a kiss between us?" the scene in Josh's office rubbed off her lips.

"So, it's not just the kiss in the news that happened between the two of you."

Nicole covered her own mouth with one palm when she got what the old woman meant. She wanted to smack herself for betraying herself like that. She was surprised when the old woman laughed and she even looked happy.

"A-Are you all right?" She asked the old woman nervously because she looked possessed by an angel by the way she laughed.

"Nevermind, Hija. I'm just happy because you get along with my grandson." She said meaningfully.

With lips parted, Nicole's gaze followed the old woman as she left her office. She was still confused by her action. She thought that she would also order her to stay away from Steven like Rita did.
