Captured

Madame Asuncion cried when she saw her granddaughter in the hospital. She was very happy and she was safe, but she noticed something had changed in her. She was quiet and she refused to speak even when asked by the police.

"Don't force her to speak now. I understand how she feels because I also experienced what happened to her." Danica said sadly.

Rita averted her eyes from Danica and she might not be able to control herself. If a stare can kill, she was certain she would've died.

When Gaven heard that Steven was in the same hospital, he went to them. He still can't contact or find Nicole, so he's worried.

"Sir…"

Gaven turned to the man who called to him. When he recognized him, he quickly approached him.

"Sir, don't come near Sir Steven for now." Tony whispered as he looked around.

"What do you mean? Why can't I approach him? Do you know Nicole is missing and she can't be contacted anymore?"

"Let's go somewhere else, Sir. Please follow me." Tony did not wait for his response. He led the way and made sure no other eyes were watching them.

"Do you know what's going on right now?" Gaven asked the man again.

"Yes, Sir Steven just recovered his sister from the kidnapper. But Nicole is being held captive by them and used against Rita to force her to submit."

"What? Why did that bastard let the criminal abduct Nicole? And he's not doing anything to—"

"Calm down first, Sir." Tony interrupted as he spoke. "Danica is crazy and she won't hesitate to kill everyone who knows her secret. She just released Rita so that her marriage with Sir Steven can proceed."

"He's going to marry that devil? What kind of joke is this?!"

"That's the only way Sir Steven thought to have plenty of time to find and save them."

Gaven sighed deeply and his anger at Steven lessened. "Then he knows the truth." He said the obvious fact, he didn't need to ask.

"I told him. You can't speak out against Danica in front of Sir Steven's family because it might ruin the plan."

"I've got what Steven wants to happen. Let him know I'm willing to help as much as I can."

"Yes, Sir."

Gaven left first and still went to Steven's sister's room. He wanted to visit her and if possible, talk to her.

"What are you doing here?" Danica asked Gaven rudely when he came in.

Gaven looked around the room. Steven was not there and the patient was obviously pretending to be asleep. He stared at her face, she obviously kept hatred in her heart. He felt sorry for her because she had to keep quiet for Nicole.

"I just want to say hello to Mr. Scout's family and also ask where Nicole is because I can't contact her." Gaven replied calmly.

"Don't tell me that you don't know what that woman did?" Danica asked the young man angrily.

"Watch your words, Miss." Gaven glared at her.

Danica just rolled her eyes and glared back at him. "She's the prime suspect of the kidnapping. She's hiding now, so don't ask us about her."

"She can't do what you're accusing her!" Gaven angrily grabbed the woman's arm.

"Let her go!" Steven sternly ordered him.

Gaven glared at Danica. He looked again at the woman lying on the bed when he noticed that she had opened her eyes. He could read the message in her eyes, pleading him not to create a mess.

"What you heard from Danica about Nicole was the truth. So from today on, I'm cutting off anything that connects you to our family. I'm also taking away your right to my children, so you can't get close to Sean! "

Gaven's jaw clenched and he showed his dislike for what Steven said. If Tony hadn't just informed him earlier, he would have definitely punched Steven. He could see the joy on Danica's face because the latter protected her.

"I can't let you take Sean away from us! Prove that your accusation against Nicole is true. Because if it's the opposite, I'll sue you!" Gaven angrily threatened Steven.

"Honey, get that man away and don't let him get close to Rita. He must be Nicole's accomplice." Danica acted afraid and she clung to Steven's arm.

"Leave now if you don't want me to call the police." Steven coldly told him to leave.

Gaven grinned when he caught Danica looking at him. He gave her a meaningful glance before turning away.

Danica fumed inwardly as she watched Gaven leave. She didn't like the way he glanced at her. He seemed to pity her and she knew it was because she had to use other people for her own gain.

"Are you okay?" Steven asked the woman worriedly.

"Yes, thank you for coming. He's scary. Looks like he wants to hurt me because his family's true color has been discovered."

Steven took a deep breath and held the woman's head to let her lean against his chest.

Rita just avoided looking at the two, so that she wouldn't have to bear with it.

Steven smiled at Danica, if anyone else saw what he did, they would think that he was possessed by a good spirit. It was not his job to smile, especially at a woman. He intended to keep Rita in the hospital, so that the person he ordered at the mansion could work properly.

"Thank you, I know I can count on you to take care of Rita and you won't leave her. I'm leaving first because I have an important meeting with a person about business."

"Thanks for the trust and be careful!"

Steven didn't stop Danica when she kissed him on the lips. He responded to that and made her feel that he loved her.

Steven had left, but the smile on Danica's lips remained. She turned to Rita and grinned.

"Aren't you happy to see that your brother and I are getting along well?" She softened her voice as she caressed her cheek.

Rita averted her face from Danica, as if disgusted. "I believe there is karma and goodness always prevails over evilness."

Danica angrily pinched Rita's cheek. "If karma is real, your grandmother should have been dead already because she tortured me!"

Rita laughed bitterly and did not show her former friend that she was hurt. She needed to get better, so she didn't waste any more energy to talk back to her. She knew she wouldn't harm her right now because she still needed her. She had to find a way to talk to Gaven. She was certain that he knew Danica's true colors.

When Danica made sure that Rita was asleep, she hurried out of the room. But she paid a nurse to watch over Rita and made sure she won't talk to anyone while she was away. She needed to meet Brando, but Steven's men were keeping a close eye on her for fear that the kidnappers were still around. To escape them, she went into the comfort room first and changed her clothes.

"What are you doing here?" Danica was surprised to see Steven's driver next to her car.

"Good afternoon, Ma'am. Sir Steven left me to be your temporary driver." Tony replied politely to the woman.

Danica sighed because she had no escape from Steven. She was happy because he was overprotective of her now. But it was also troublesome and she could not move freely.

"Where do you want to go, Ma'am? I'll drive you."

Danica did not have a choice but to unlock the car and let Tony drive her. "I'll just buy something at the mall."

Tony was quiet while driving. He noticed the woman was busy typing on her cell phone.

"Just stay here, I'll be right back." Danica stopped the driver when he tried to get out of the car as well.

"All right, Ma'am, be careful!"

Danica smiled at Tony before turning away. She texted Brando earlier and they agreed to meet there.

Tony quickly called Steven when Danica disappeared from his sight. "Sir, I’m already in Danica’s car."

"Good, do what I ask you to do." The aura of Steven's face was dark as he watched Danica walk inside the mall.

"I assure you, Sir, that we can follow all her moves now." The detective guaranteed to Steven.

It was not difficult for Steven to access the CCTV at the mall that Danica went to because he was the owner of it. He made sure that wherever she went, they could trace her. They needed to secretly install a tracking device in her car and a CCTV camera in her room. Danica can't suspect Tony, so he asked him to do the work.

Steven's attention was again focused on another monitor.

"Your man had properly placed the tracking device in the suspect's car, Sir." The detective said to Steven and pointed to the other CCTV that could tell them wherever Danica was going.

"Very good, the safety of my family depends on you and I don't want you to fail."

"Capture his face." The detective ordered the staff when a man approached Danica.

Steven stared at the man's face as he zoomed it in on the screen. He did not know him and was not familiar with him.

"He's the man I saw earlier enter the coffee shop, next to you," the detective said.

"They can't know that I know what's going on." Steven's jaw clenched.

"Don't worry, I'll let someone follow the man she's talking to."

Danica looked around because she felt like there were eyes staring at her.

"Is there a problem?" Brando asked Danica when he noticed her looking around.

"No, maybe I'm just hallucinating. Here's the extra money. I want you to recruit another person to kill Gaven."

Smirking, Brando accepted the money.

"When you've finished all the work I've tasked to you, expect you have a bonus." A charming smile flashed on Danica's lips and winked at Brando.

Brando suddenly felt excited when he read what the woman wanted to convey. It seemed that not only can he hit the jackpot with money, but also with the woman he secretly admired for her brilliance and beauty.

"All right, you go away and I need to go home now." Danica dismissed him.

When Steven saw that Danica was leaving the mall, he hurriedly left to return to the hospital. Along the way, he called Danica.

"Tony said you're at the mall, are you okay there?"

Danica smiled because Steven was apparently so worried about her. "I'm coming back to the hospital now, so don't worry."

"You can't tell me not to worry. I don't want you to get hurt again."

"Thanks for worrying, Honey."

"I'm also on my way to the hospital because Rita's doctor called. She can get discharged now, Rita also wants to go home."

Danica was in favor of taking Rita home to the mansion.
