Threaten

Rita entered Danica's room angrily when she regained her strength.

"Don't show me that attitude. Remember, you won't want to make me mad." Danica rebuked her.

"I want to make sure you're not doing anything bad to Nicole and Natasha. Call your henchman now so I can see they're still alive." She boldly commanded Danica.

"And why should I grant your wishes?" Danica asked arrogantly.

"You choose, to get your plan ruined right now or fulfill your dream to marry Brother? I'm not afraid to die anymore, Danica. I'm ready to risk my life for them!"

Danica glared at Rita. She was hurt by what she said and she hated her. She had no choice but to call her henchman to show her that the two were still alive.

"Rita? I'm glad you came home safely." Nicole's eyes watered and she smiled while staring at Rita.

Rita hardened her emotions to stay calm in front of Nicole. She was grateful and she had no bruises or signs that she was hurt.

Danica quickly ended the call because she didn’t want to hear drama from the two.

"That should be enough." Danica said teasingly.

"Natasha, where is she?"

"Let me just remind you that she's separated from Nicole. Because I know you will find a way to save them. If you disobey me, you have to choose which of them you will save first. But I assure you that you will never see the corpse of one you do not choose."

Rita clenched her fists in anger. She wanted to hurt Danica to get revenge, but she can't.

"Once my henchman couldn't contact me, I ordered them to immediately kill the hostage. So don't make the mistake of pressuring me just to save them."

"You devil!"

Danica pulled herself away from Rita and laughed crazily.

"I want to see Natasha!"

From his seat, the phone Steven was holding was almost shattered. He could watch the entire scene in Danica's room from there. He wanted to strangle her to death out of anger. When he heard from her that the two captives were in different places, he quickly contacted the detective.

"Don't act first, you need to find my daughter's whereabouts."

"Copy that, Sir." Detective Mauro replied to Steven. His co-worker was already stationed at the spot where the man Danica met at the mall was.

"You need to get close to the enemy's house and find out who's there as their hostage."

"One of my subordinate is already working on a way that they won't suspect."

Steven breathed a sigh of relief at the fact that one of his loved ones had been found. He cussed Danica several times in his mind because of her skill in planning so that she could continue to deceive him. Once he knew the whereabouts of her other captive, he would immediately hold her by the neck so as to stop her from committing any more evil.

Danica was very happy because she and Steven will get married soon. She agreed to have a civil marriage first. He wanted to give her a fancy wedding in another country. She liked it because she dreamed of getting married in Italy.

"Brother, you can just get married one time in Italy." Rita questioned her brother's decision.

"This is different in our country and in other countries, Rita. I don't want a divorce, so we will get married here next week before arranging the wedding in Italy." Steven said indifferently to his sister.

Danica felt like she was floating in the clouds because of sheer bliss. She tightened her grip on Steven's arm and leaned her head on his shoulder. She looked at Rita and she inwardly laughed at her.

Rita couldn't bear to see the two happy, thus she left without saying anything. She knew her brother and grandmother were confused about her current behavior. She wanted to cry because she felt she was not a good friend and sister.

Danica was too happy, she decided to visit Nicole to personally tell her about her upcoming wedding. She wanted to see her hurt expression. But before she could leave, Brando called.

"Ma'am, Toby called, the child is sick and has a high fever."

"Shit! What are they doing, letting that damn kid get sick? You know she can't die yet because she's the reason Rita obeys me!" She shouted at Brando.

"I'm going there to—"

"Never mind!" She interrupted what the man wanted to say, "I'll go there."

Sean quickly left his hiding place and hurried out. He had a strong feeling that the woman knew where his mother was, so he would follow her. He got in the back of Danica's car and hid himself in a bag that was there.

When Steven heard that Danica had left, he did not leave his office. He and the detective were both focused on locating the place she was going to. Someone also followed Danica and hopefully the woman won't notice that.

Danica bought medicine at the pharmacy before heading to Laguna. The two hostages were only a district apart, so it was not difficult for her to visit the two on the same day.

She was in the middle of the trip when she noticed a vehicle that had been following behind her. To make sure if she was being followed, she stopped at some stores and pretended to buy something.

"Sir, it looks like Danica noticed she was being followed, so I told them to stop." Detective Mauro informed Steven.

Steven sighed because they failed. "She shouldn't notice, so that's good. What's important now is to know where she's going."

Danica breathed a sigh of relief when she never saw the car following her again. Perhaps she was just mistaken. But she still had to make sure that no one was following her.

Sean was dizzy the whole ride. He did not know where they were. He was relieved that the woman didn't notice him every time she opened the compartment and put what she shopped in there. He endured heat and sometimes had difficulty breathing, but it was for his mother and sister.

Danica quickly got out of the car and picked up the groceries. She didn't bother to close the car because she was carrying stuff in both hands.

Sean peeked out and saw that Danica had turned her back on him. A man greeted her and helped her carry her groceries. He hurried out of the car before the woman could return and someone could see him. He looked around to see where he could hide.

"Why did she get sick?" Danica asked the man. The two of them were watching and one allegedly fell asleep because he was tired of watching over the girl.

"She doesn't want to eat, and doesn't stop crying. She's looking for her grandmother."

Danica sighed angrily and entered a room. The child was hot and was just lying down.

"Is my grandmother with you now?" Natasha's voice trembled.

"When you're stubborn, your grandmother won't visit you. So if you want me to give you back to her, eat and take this medicine." Danica dropped the medicine on the table.

Natasha squirmed and was scared of the woman she thought at first was kind. Because of her threat, she was forced to eat even though she didn't have an appetite. She also took the medicine and was scared of what the woman said.

"I'll let you die when you don't take medicine. Stop crying too, if you don't want to get hurt, will you?!"

Natasha closed her mouth and nodded. She trembled with fear and felt weak because she was sick.

Sean felt bad as he watched his sister secretly. From what he had heard earlier, the partner of the male guard was asleep, so he could be sure that there were only two of them there. He won't have much of a hard time rescuing his sister when Danica left.

"I'm leaving, I don't want to hear that kid is still sick, okay?" Danica instructed the man.

"All right, Ma'am. I'll take care of her."

"Also, don't go to sleep because someone else might wind up here," Danica ordered again before she left. This hideout was isolated, so no one can see the child or hear even if she cried.

Sean squeezed himself into a corner when he saw the two exit the room.

Danica halted when she noticed the bag inside the compartment. She pulled it out and looked at what was inside. Because of her preoccupation with the idea that someone was following her, she did not notice that thing.

"Why is it still here?" She patted her own forehead when she remembered the bag. That's the bag where the money Steven brought. Fortunately, no one else was using her car.

If only Brando was in front of Danica, she would have beaten him. He didn't throw the bag away when he got the money. Annoyed, she hurried to get in the car. She wanted to slap Brando in the face with that bag.

Steven stood up quickly when Mauro confirmed the location that Danica went to. Together with his subordinates, he rushed there to personally save their lives.
