Kissing someone was one thing, but kissing someone like Cyrian was quite another.
There were no fireworks in my stomach or electric shocks in my body. The kiss with Cyrian was different. He was better.
It felt so incredibly right, like I was finally complete. All the thoughts and worries of the last few days moved further and further into the background until they finally disappeared completely. The only thing that mattered was Cyrian's lips on mine.
In one of the books I had read that this tension and the desire attacked both mates and they usually attacked each other after a few hours. Until now I had thought that I wasn't that affected by it, but now I realized how wrong I was. I might have been able to suppress it for a while, but that was over now.
I got up from the chair I was still sitting in to be even closer to Cyrian.
My hands ran down his back. The purring sound he then made drew goosebumps all over my body.
His hands cupped my waist and pulled me even closer to him. An unbelievable heat spread inside me.
A sigh escaped me as his tongue slid through my mouth and I willingly gave way to him.
The kiss grew faster and more passionate.
Cyrian took a few steps forward until we reached the table. He pushed me against it dominantly while still exploring my mouth.
We could have stayed here forever because of me, but after some time Cyrian broke the kiss. Maybe that wasn't such a bad thing as it made me gasp frantically, but it still felt wrong.
But I didn't have much time to breathe anyway. Cyrian now took care of my neck. My knees went weak as he began sucking on a particularly sensitive spot. If he weren't still pinning me against the dining table, I probably wouldn't be able to stand.
His hands slowly left my waist and wandered into deeper areas. My hands also wandered forward and under his shirt. I rubbed his pecs and made a nagging sound because his stupid shirt was making it difficult for me to do anything.
Cyrain didn't purr now, instead he let a small moan slide over his lips.
"We have to let that go, otherwise I can no longer guarantee anything." Cyrain murmured, but after each word he suckled on my neck again. His words were almost lost in my sighs.
"Maybe we should." I retorted softly while catching my breath. But even I couldn't keep my fingers off his muscles and so I slowly left his chest muscles and ran over his abdominal muscles which were suspiciously close to his waistband.
We both paused for a moment and looked into each other's eyes. I gasped and somehow tried to catch my breath. His hair was disheveled and he too seemed to be replenishing his oxygen.
I briefly considered whether I should say something, but I wouldn't have known what, and this pause didn't last long either.
It was like we were catching up on the days we had known each other, clinging to each other like drowning people to a lifebelt.
The next moment I was picked up and placed on the edge of the tabletop. Almost automatically my legs clung to his hips and we moaned synchronously when my already aroused middle hit his also aroused member. All of a sudden I didn't care that he was still wearing the shirt and the pants became my new enemy.
"Let me tag you." Cyrian eventually murmured against my lips, bringing me back to reality from cloud nine.
"What?" I asked confused, ending the kiss.
"Let me tag you." Cyrian repeated, looking at me desperately and pleadingly at the same time. "It hardly hurts, really."
"We should talk." I interjected.
"About that..." I meant our snogging, which was extremely close to sex
"... and above everything else." I meant that marker thing and my brother.
"What do you want to talk about. We're mates, we belong together. So sooner or later I'll tag you too, why not now? Then I'll always know where you are. We would be even more connected and I could protect you better."
I looked at him in bewilderment. I found it shocking how we had just reacted to each other, how could I ever resist him if this bond between us was even stronger?
That's exactly what I told him.
Cyrian looked at me, shaking his head. "You shouldn't be able to resist me, and neither should I be able to resist you. We belong together, that's how it's supposed to be. We can wait with everything, but please let me tag you."
I rubbed my face in desperation and tried to think clearly again. Cyrian made me unfocused and clouded my senses.
"It's not that easy for me. I don't understand it between us even now and you want to reinforce that?" I shook my head resolutely. "I don't want that yet, Cyrian. I still hardly know you and everything else that wolves do is foreign to me."
Even though I hadn't said anything against him, Cyrian looked hurt. It was really hard for me to stand my ground, but the thought of Cyrian digging my teeth into my throat made me persevere.
Now he got angry.
"All right." he hissed. "Then not. Then I'll just take my stupid Mate tape and go."
"Cyrian!" I shouted energetically and caught his wrist to prevent him from storming out of the room. "I'm sorry, but I can't do that yet. I don't even know who I am or was. There are so many things and questions in my head that I don't know the answers to."
Cyrian's gaze softened. "I know, my heart." He murmured and planted a kiss on my forehead. "That's why I'm going to go and bring your brother to you."
"You said yourself that I'm dangerous and that they can defeat whole groups of werewolves." I replied shocked and worried. I didn't want him to go.
"I know, but I'm not just any wolf I'm the alpha and I won't go alone either. You won't be alone either, I'll have the house secured until I get back. You need answers to your questions and I understand that . I will do everything for you to get them. So that you can close your past and start a future with me."
He smiled at me again and kissed my lips. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment.
When I opened my eyes again, Cyrian was gone.
In the next few days I learned how relative time really was. seconds, minutes or hours. Everything was incredibly long. My thoughts kept circling around Cyrian and Thomas. I tried to distract myself several times or to find an activity where the time passed more quickly, but I failed.
So most of the time I just sat and thought or stared at the big clock in Cyrian's private library. It was shockingly quiet in the house, even though I wasn't alone.
When I got up the table in the dining room was already set. As soon as I left the dining room for even a moment, my table was cleared and the dishes refilled. It was really scary.
Around noon all sorts of warm dishes were suddenly on the table and towards the afternoon it was more cakes and other pastries.
Once during the night I felt thirsty and so I went downstairs. Even in the middle of the night, dishes piled up on the long table. What a waste of food.
Cyrian obviously kept his word and didn't leave me alone. I was still lonely. I longed so much for his closeness, his warmth, his kisses. Sometimes it annoyed me that he had wrapped me around his finger so easily, but then it annoyed me again that I hadn't given in sooner and therefore only had this one incredible moment between us.
I didn't know how long he would be gone and that made it worse. Why hadn't I asked him how far it was to Hellsbrook? Then I would at least have an idea of how much longer I would have to wait for him. But now all I could do was sit around and wait, ignorant. Patience was definitely not my forte.
And so time passed. I watched the sun climb up and down the horizon.
It took a whole 5 days until finally something interesting happened. It was mid-afternoon. I was usually in the library at this time and I was bored because I just couldn't concentrate on the books. But this time I strolled through the property. And for the first time, it wasn't completely quiet. My first thought was that maybe Cyrian was back and I happily quickened my step, but of course I was wrong. Instead of meeting Cyrian's beautiful silvery eyes, two pairs of children's eyes beamed at me.
I looked at them both in surprise and they both looked back just as surprised. The younger of the two was probably only 6 years old and his big brown eyes reminded me of a teddy bear. Again and again he had to blow his messy, honey-blond hair out of his face to see anything at all. I would have guessed the older of the two to be about 10 years old. His raven hair was a lot shorter and his eyes were an incredible ice blue. Although the two were very different, I assumed they were brothers. They had a similar face shape and the same nose.
I stared at them both and she stared back for a few seconds. It was so unfamiliar to seeing other people that I didn't know what to do at all.
"Hey" I just said at some point.
The two were still eyeing me critically. At least the older one seemed critical. The blond still looked like innocence personified.
"Who are you two? and what are you doing here?" I tried to ask in a friendly way and realized once again that I wasn't very good with children.
"I'm Nero." replied the dark-haired. "And this is Joffrey. Our mum works here."
I nodded and smiled at him. "Hello you two. I'm Alexandra, but Alex is enough."
"Then you are Luna?" the smaller one stated with shining eyes.
"Seems so." I replied.
"Will you come and say hello to our mom? She really wants to get to know you," the blond boy asked me enthusiastically.
"Never mind Joffrey, she sure has enough to do, she's Luna." the older man scolded. "Sorry Luna. We didn't want to disturb you. We're going back to our mother's."
Nero bowed his head respectfully.
A look into Joffrey's sad dog eyes made the words just flow out of me. "That's no problem, I'd like to get to know your mother."
Even though the thought of meeting strange wolves again, and this time without Cyrian, made me uneasy, I couldn't help but follow the two. Besides, it must have been nice to talk to someone again.
The kids seemed to know each other well. Quick and experienced, they slipped through the corridors and happily jumped down the stairs.
"What does your mum work as?" I asked, realizing we were in a part of the building I had never been to. I thought I knew everything now.
"Downstairs. In the laundry." explained Nero.
I nodded. So this is where my clothes always disappeared before they reappeared in the closet in the morning. That was definitely even scarier than the breakfast thing.
Nero opened a heavy door at the end of a dimly lit hallway. Joffrey grabbed mine and, beaming with joy, pulled me through the door.
I winced when the door slammed shut behind me. Joffrey's hand fell away from mine and the darkness left me completely disoriented.
The next moment a cloth was held over my mouth and nose. I tried to resist but someone grabbed my arms and held me tight.
The strong medicinal smell made my eyes water and at some point I couldn't hold my breath anymore.
The moment I gasped for air, the smell made me foggy and black dots danced in front of my eyes. A few seconds later, the black dots had spread across my entire field of vision and I lost myself in the darkness without wanting to.
