The first rays of sun were already falling through a window when I woke up. I still felt tired and drained, but I wasn't used to sleeping late. The mattress beneath me was unusually soft and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. A strong arm was wrapped around my waist and I didn't have to turn around to know who was behind me. Cyrian. A name as mysterious and special as its owner.
I still wondered why he hadn't just killed me. He was a wolf and I was a human, actually I should have been dead a long time ago. But who knows what the wolf has in store for me. Even if he hadn't hurt me yet, it was surely only a matter of time before he showed me his wolfish, bestial side. I definitely had to get out of here. Far away.
As gently as possible I tried to loosen the arm around my waist. I flinched when a dissatisfied murmur sounded right behind me, but the wolf continued to sleep. I gently peeled myself out of the stranger's embrace. It took a while but finally I managed to free myself.
As quietly as humanly possible, I swung my legs out of the huge bed. The cold marble floor felt surprisingly good under my feet. I paused briefly and looked at my face in the mirror-like tiles. To my surprise, I didn't look as terrible as I expected. My reflection in the mirror was a bit disheveled, but otherwise I almost seemed to be beaming. There were no dark circles under my still tired eyes. My hair was shiny and didn't look as dull and dry as usual.
I shook my head in irritation. I could always deal with my appearance later.
I tiptoed to a large dark wood door. I tried not to focus too much on the decor of the room, because the charcoal gray walls with dark red accents almost made me stop and admire everything.
I cautiously reached out for the gold doorknob. Just as my fingertips touched the cold metal, I felt an arm wrap around my stomach again.
"Where do we want to go?" an incredible voice whispered in my ear. The morning seemed to make his already deep voice even darker and deeper and the rough tone made goosebumps run down my spine.
I felt Cyrian's lips against my ear and desperately tried to focus on something else.
I breathed a sigh of relief as his lips pulled away from my ear. I didn't even realize I was holding my breath.
But the next moment I had to gasp for air when I felt his lips on my neck.
A soft sigh escaped my treacherous body.
"How I would like to tag you, my little darling." Cyrian purred. "Everybody should know that you belong to me. That they have to stay away from you. But I'm afraid we have to talk first, I can't leave you completely in the dark, otherwise you'll apparently run away from me at the first possible opportunity."
I didn't miss the accusatory tone. The grip on my stomach weakened a bit and I pulled out of Cyrian's arms as fast as I could. His touch made me tingle, making it difficult to focus on anything else.
"What's all this about?" I asked as accusingly as I could, but I even heard my curious tone myself.
"Our conversation still has a little time, you're going to take a shower first and I'll see to it that we get something to eat, then we can still talk." returned Cyrian. I heard exactly that my curiosity amused him. What did the well-built guy expect? That he could just take me with him and I wouldn't care why?
"You said we'll talk!" this time I managed to sound accusatory. I crossed my arms in annoyance across my chest and stared stubbornly at the man who was two heads taller. My patience was now over and I finally wanted to know what was going on here.
"First you go take a warm shower." Cyrian retorted just as stubbornly.
"I just took a shower yesterday!" I noticed myself that I sounded like a small child, but I couldn't help my stubbornness. That's how I was.
Cyrian's silver eyes darkened noticeably. The next moment he was already leaning down to me and again his lips were dangerously close to my ear.
"The only problem is, my pretty, you still smell like other people. Especially other boys and it drives me crazy. So if you don't want to take a shower I'll have to find another way to get rid of that annoying smell from you. "
The big grin on his face gave me bad suspicions.
"There's the bathroom." he had pulled back a bit from me and was pointing to another, smaller wooden door. "I'll get you something to wear."
I still stood stock still and didn't move.
"Come on, my little one or should I come with you?" the mischievous grin on Cyrian's face made him look like a little boy, but his words didn't fail to have the effect. With hasty steps I ran past him towards the door behind which the bathroom had to hide.
I felt Cyrian's eyes on me until I closed the door. Finally I heard a suggestive: "Too bad, I would have liked to accompany you."
