It was damn hard for me to get out of the shower again. Apart from the luxurious appearance that the bathroom was given by the high-quality black tiles and the glass sink, the warm water in particular held me here. In recent years the water had only been hot in midsummer, when the sun had warmed it. In the winter, on the other hand, it was freezing cold, if it worked at all.
Being able to precisely adjust the temperature of the water was pure luxury for me. The water made me forget everything else for a moment. My family, my life as a fighter and even the definitely crazy wolf that kept me captive here. All this was carried away by the pleasant warmth like footprints in the sand are carried away by waves.
For the first time in years, I felt clean, warm, and safe. But at some point this balm for my soul and my body had to end. It was even harder for me because the warm water never seemed to run out.
When I finally turned off the water, my skin was already slightly wrinkled. My body gave off a pleasant, flowery scent, which unfortunately I couldn't identify more precisely.
To my surprise, everything in the bathroom seemed to be there for a woman too. Although I shouldn't care, the hair on the back of my neck stood up just thinking about Cyrian with another woman.
I wrapped the large, soft towel around my athletic body as best we could. Then I quietly unlocked the bathroom door and opened it a crack. I only stepped out after making sure there was no one else in the room.
I wasn't very prudish, no wonder after so long with so many guys in a small space, but I didn't really want to face a stranger with just a towel wrapped around me.
I was relieved to notice some clothes neatly folded on the bed. I looked at the underwear, which definitely showed more than it covered. I decided to wear my old one instead.
The other clothes were better. The black trousers fit me like a glove and because of the stretchy material I was able to move very well in them. The dark blue sweater was much too big for me, I only had to smell it briefly to know why. The sweater clearly belonged to Cyrian. Since I didn't have a big alternative, I slipped into the dark sweater. I sucked in the smell and couldn't even resist a smile.
The smell was difficult to describe. On one side he smelled of rain as fresh as summer air, but there was something else. A rough, masculine note that almost took my breath away. I forced myself to focus.
Now for the first time I could look at the room in peace. Except for the large bed, the room was decorated with large bookshelves and some plants. But my attention was drawn even more by the large window front. I slowly groped towards it.
The view was incredible. Thousands of houses lined up. Only when I narrowed my eyes could I roughly make out the people on the streets and how they scurried about like a group of ants. The house I was in had to be huge if it towered over everyone else like that.
I suddenly realized that my chances of escaping this house unnoticed must be close to zero.
Shaking my head, I turned away and headed for the large wooden door for the second time today. This time no arm stopped me from opening it.
I stood disoriented in a hallway for a moment until I decided to follow the familiar voice coming from the right.
The voice led me to another large wooden door, which I opened without thinking twice. As expected, I found Cyrian behind and he wasn't alone. Another man, who could only be a wolf in physique, stood opposite him. The completely unknown man spotted me first because Cyrian had his back to me.
He gave me a friendly smile before bowing his head, "Luna." I smiled back, a little overwhelmed.
"Don't smile at her." Cyrian suddenly growled at the stranger. "She's mine, you have no right to smile at her!"
For the umpteenth time I wondered what was going on with this wolf.
The stranger bowed his head again in respect and apology. "Sorry Alpha. I'll leave you alone."
In the next moment he was already gone.
"Come my little Luna, I'll explain everything while you eat." Now Cyrian's voice was soft. He held out his hand invitingly and without thinking I took it.
Smiling with satisfaction, Cyrian led me out of the room. After a very short time I had completely lost my bearings and only followed Cyrian like a lost puppy.
Just as I was about to accuse him of getting lost, he opened a door and let out the savory smell of food.
At first I assumed there was a kitchen behind the door, but it was a dining room. There was probably more food piled up on a long table than I'd otherwise had in a whole year.
Cyrian led me to one of the chairs and pushed it out for me to sit on. He sat across from me and watched me.
"I won't start talking until you start eating." he explained to me.
So I helped myself to the dishes in front of me, most of which I didn't even know what they were supposed to be.
"So my love, where do I start? Well, I'm a wolf, as I'm sure you're aware. All wolves have a soul mate. A person you love dearly and bond with once you finally find them And I found you. You are my..." he paused when he realized I had stopped eating. I hurriedly stuffed some orange pulp into my mouth.
"You are my mate, my soul mate. I will protect you from everything and everyone in the world, I will always take care of you, you are my greatest treasure. I promise that I will read your every wish from your eyes and do everything for it will to fulfill him there."
My mind was desperately trying to process all of this, but even though it was a logic explanation for his actions, I just couldn't believe it.
"And this Luna? Who is that?" I asked because I couldn't think of anything better. I hadn't forgotten what the stranger had said. Who the hell was Luna?
Cyrian looked at me in amusement. "Well you. I am the Alpha, the leader and king of the wolves and you are my mate. The Alpha's mate is also called Luna. You are my better half and you rank above all the other wolves. You are their Luna , their leader, their queen."
The glass I let go of in terror shattered on the floor with a clatter. Please what?! Queen?!
