Chapter 37: Just Kiss The Girl

As soon as I get her home and in bed, I tuck her in and kiss her cherry red lips. She looks exhausted and her face is as pale as a ghost, so I leave it at that. Hopefully, the cold hasn’t chilled her literally to the bone and doesn’t cause her to catch pneumonia.

After making sure she is comfortable, I pull my clothes off and slide in behind her before lying my head down on the pillow. When I hear her softly snore, I smile because it sounds really cute when she does it. Hell, everything she does is cute, even when she yells at me.

Tomorrow, I am going to take her over to the doctors and make sure she isn’t getting sick. The last thing we need right now is her getting sick with those pups inside of her. As I lay here struggling to fall asleep, I remember to check the windows and the door.

After climbing out of bed and checking each one twice, I finally feel safer now in knowing that everything is locked down. I can’t believe that this all happened just because another rogue group wants to take the throne. Matter of fact, I know damn well that someone in the castle had a hand in this and tomorrow I will find out who.

Once I close my eyes, I start to dream of Arabella dancing in front of me seductively. She entices me to watch, as she runs her fingers up and down her gorgeous body while demanding that I stay put and not touch her. When she parts her legs and lies back so I can see everything, I can’t handle it anymore, so I grab her hairbrush and tease her with it. The moans I get are enough to make me explode in my pants before I even get to feel her warmth wrapped around my erection.

Waking up in a cold sweat, I realize she isn’t next to me and I immediately bolt up in bed and scan the room. At first, I don’t see or hear her and that alarms me greatly, until I hear the water running in the bathroom. Sliding out of bed, I make my way to the bathroom to check on her and see that she is washing her tears from her face.

I cock my head and ask right away, “What’s the matter? Are you alright, baby?”

Realizing that I sound overly concerned, I try to make light of it by continuing with, “Do you realize you look so fuckable right now?”

She turns to me and then I see it. There is a thin stream of blood flowing down her thigh, not a lot but enough. She clearly has seen it and that is why she is crying. Is she about to lose the pups?

Rushing to her side, I scoop her up and then run into the bedroom with her. After placing her on the bed briefly, I grab a blanket and wrap it around her before pulling on my clothes. Once I have my shoes on, I scoop her back up and continue to the doctors.

It is 3 a.m., but this is an emergency. It doesn’t matter what time it is when my baby is scared, and my pups are possibly dying. So, the minute we get to the door, I kick it open and yell at the top of my lungs, “Help me now. Please.” Looking for anyone at all, I scan the room and then finally the doctor runs out with fear in his eyes.

“What has happened?” He asks quickly while preparing a bed.

When I place her on the bed, she looks up at me with a terrified look in her eyes and I know that she feels exactly what I do. We both know that it could be the end of all of them, especially if she miscarries now. The doctor shakes his head when he looks from Arabella to me and then back at her.

I answer finally when I calm down with a slightly higher pitch voice than I normally sound like, “They kidnapped her today, but I found her and took care of them. I thought for sure she was fine when I brought her back, but I was going to bring her over this morning anyway to get her checked out. However, now this has happened.” When my voice trails off, I feel a tear fall from the corner of my eye before I can catch it and wipe it away.

Unfortunately, Arabella sees it and then panics. It only makes things worse, because now she starts screaming, “It hurts!”

The doctor rushes over to her side and then states, “I need to give her a shot or she will miscarry right now. Hold on, this will hurt.”

He produces a huge, long needle and then he plunges it into her stomach slowly at first and then once he is about to the end, he thrusts it the rest of the way in. Pushing the plunger down till the fluid is completely in, I hear her scream again a blood curdling scream that hurts my ears and then she faints. Her face turns paler than a white sheet and then the machine he hooks her up to starts to beep weirdly.

Turning to the doctor, I hesitate because I am deathly scared of what he will say, then I ask, “Will the pups be O.K.?”

When he looks at me directly, his eyes show the concern that I was worried about. I know there is a distinct possibility that she will lose them before the morning light. Shaking my head, I raise my hand to run my fingers through my hair while sighing. I can’t believe we have come all this way just to lose them now.

I watch the doctor move back over to Arabella and run some smelling salts under her nose to bring her out of unconsciousness. The minute he does this, her eyes start to flutter and then open before she looks at me and asks, “Did I?” With tears forming in the corners already.

“No, baby. You didn’t. It is too early to know. We have to think positively about it though if we don’t want it to happen.” I fake a smile and force it onto my lips so she will think that I am not affected by this.

Taking her hand, I raise it to my lips and then softly run my lips over the back of her hand. Laying butterfly kisses down her arm, I lean down and then kiss her sweet lips. She looks so sad, that I am compelled to just kiss the girl. When I do, I hope that she knows no matter what happens, I will always love her.
