Jedidah

Two weeks later

We are currently in Uraguay with the pack that neighbored the border. The potion has been made but we had to put our plan to attack hold because we had intel that Leaves had figured out our plan.

My wolf Alaric was getting restless and so was I, I missed Rhen with my whole heart.

"Alpha Damon I just got intel from the wolves on the border. Alexander is having a meeting and plans on having every one of his warriors there. That is when we will attack and send in my sister to kill Leaves." I said to him handing him the file.

"Great, I will tell the troops and get them prepared. Jedidiah I really appreciate you helping as much as you are. I know this is hard for you seeing as you barely had time to spend with your mate in the first place. But when we get her back then when she is in a coma would be the best time to bond and talk. Have her wolf recognize your voice. And when her new Lycan appears then you need to be the first face she sees." Alpha Damon said.

"I understand. Thank you, sir." He patted my back and walked away. I can truly say during this time his and my relationship has changed. We have grown closer and it felt like he was a father figure to me.

I walked around the field trying to find Kailani and see if she needed anything.

"Kailani, how are you feeling? Are you prepared?" I asked her.

"I am a bit nervous and my mate isn't making it better. He is worried that Leaves could somehow persuade Athena and won't come back. It's crazy to think that, she is on our side." She was talking and Prince River, Rhen's brother, walked up and stood beside Kailani.

"What can I do for you?" I asked him.

"Oh nothing, just checking on my mate." He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. My hands balled into fists in anger and jealousy, wishing I was holding Rhen like that.

"Oh, I see. Congratulations." I said. Deep down I wanted to growl, my vision lately has been starting to go red. When a wolf is gone from their mate for long periods, they slowly start to go rogue. I have been fighting it, Alaric is strong.

"Excuse me, I need to go sit down." I walked away and sat on the bench.

This wave was hitting harder than usual, my eyes were getting blurry and my fangs kept extending. I clenched my hands as tight as I could but nothing was helping.

"Jedidiah! Are you okay?" Kailani ran over to me with River following behind, which caught the attention of Alpha Damon as he too came to me.

"I can't fight it anymore. I need her now or I'm going to go rogue." I said through gritted teeth, I was slowly losing control and Alaric was fighting for his life.

"River what do we do? I don't understand what's happening?" She was frantic.

"He is slowly going rogue, he has been away from his mate for too long. I wish I had known that this was going we could have sped up the mission. All that matters is that now we need to find Rhen quickly or else Jedidiah will be gone too." Alpha Damon leaned down in front of me.

"I just need one more day Alaric. Jedidiah just close your eyes, deep breaths. Unclench your fists and relax. Just one more day." I did as he told me and closed my eyes and focused on my breathing.

The world started to stop spinning and my heart was going to its regular beat pattern. I kept repeating in my head. Just one more day. Just one more day. Just one more day. I opened my eyes and everything was normal and I locked with Alpha Damon's.

"I'm ready."

We were in the deep forest near the edge of the border. Alexander's meeting was in a building rather than outside which made it to our advantage. I slowly crept up behind a huge oak tree and looked around who I had with me.

Kailani was with me and River, Alpha Damon, his beta Trey and Delta Robert was with us. I let my fangs extend and my muscles bulk up way more than they already are showing that Alaric was here. I didn't want to go full wolf only because I have an advantage in my human form. I looked behind the tree at the building to see there are two guards at the front not paying attention.

Perfect.

I grabbed Kailani's hand and nodded at her. She understood and closed her eyes when she opened them again they should Athena was present.

"Do you have the potion?" I asked her.

"Of course." She pulled the vile out of her pocket. I nodded and we slowly approached the building surrounding it with our fellow warriors. We needed to keep this silent, only because if the rest of the country found out then we were all dead.

"You need to stay out here," Athen said to us.

"What? No. I'm not letting you go in there by yourself." River protested.

"You will be my backup if something goes wrong but right now this is something I have to do on my own. Sister against sister. Stay at the border they can't get you there, and I will signal IF I need you. Understand?" Athena said in a very commanding way. We had no choice but to obey.

"Okay, be safe," I said and we all fell back into the woods watching and waiting as she walked into the building.

I just hope Kailani gets out well but Rhen too. I don't think I can make it another day without her.

Leaves

Alexander and I had called a meeting with all of our warriors to discuss tactical plans. We knew that there was no way King Damon would attack so soon and we made sure we were discreet.

"Alright everyone settles down! Let's talk about business." Alexander started talking but then all of a sudden the door opened and I suddenly couldn't breathe.

There was a girl that walked in with silver hair, I knew exactly who that was. Athena. All the warriors stood up and headed toward her. That wouldn't do anything though because she waved her hand and everyone froze including Alexander.

"Athena, how?" That was all I was able to say as she walked closer to me.

"Well, big sis knew what you were up to, and as soon as you left two years later she sent me. You should have known better." She was getting closer and I couldn't help but walk backward. I was strong but she was stronger.

"You don't understand, I did what I had to do. I was in prison." I yelled.

"You killed our parents! What else were we supposed to do? You were selfish and manipulative and had no right."

My heart started beating fast and I backed into the wall.

"Please. Athena, you don't understand." I put my hands up in surrender.

"It's over." I couldn't take it any longer. I blurted out laughing right in front of her. Her face was priceless, I should have taken a picture.

"What? Did you think I was going to give up that easy?" I think she did.

"Oh, Athena. You poor naive thing. I killed our parents because they deserved it, you have no idea what happened to me because of them. I was the black sheep and you both never understood. Why can't I just be happy on earth? Why does my life have to be so terrible?" I yelled it is about time I let them know how I felt.

"Alexander and I just wanted a life together! We love each other. He is my mate and why is the thought of me being happy so terrible." Athena walked closer to me and we stood only inches apart.

"Because you can't."

Before I knew it she grabbed a knife and cut my arm and blood started spilling out. She grabbed it and brought it to my face.

"Your blood is black Leaves. You're not a Lycan and you know that. You know what you are...stop pretending." I snatched my arm away from hers and walked away.

"Leaves, you need to go back. You can't be here and you can't love anything. It is impossible." I could feel my heart start to beat again but in rage instead.

"Athena stop." I could feel my nails start to extend and my inner self starts to transform.

"You are not a Lycan, you are not a werewolf. You know what you are and why you will never be."

That threw me over the edge and I transformed into my true form. She was right I wasn't a Lycan, I was more.

"There you are. The real Leaves." I barred my sharp teeth at once I got used to my old body again. I was what they called a black being. I was a monster.

"Are you happy now!" I yelled.

"Very."

Before I knew it she grabbed the knife and cut off one of my tentacles and I screamed out in pain. I used my other one and wrapped it around her neck and threw her across the room. She grunted in pain and stood up slowly.

"Let the games begin."

She ran across the room faster than lightning and had her hands wrapped around my throat. I used one of my other tentacles to punch her across her face, and she let go and fell to the floor. I kicked her continually in the stomach, and she grabbed my ankle and pulled me to the ground. I slammed my head into the ground and started to feel dizzy.

She got up and straddled me then grabbed my throat again and continued to cut off each of my tentacles. Black blood was spilling everywhere and I was in too much pain to push her off. I was losing too much blood.

I gathered as much strength as I could and used my last tentacle to wrap it around her neck. We were in a stand-off neither of us stopping or giving up. Somehow she mustered the strength and cut off my last one and I fell to the ground. I slowly went back into my human form. I looked down and saw many cuts and bruises all over my body. I lay there coughing up a storm of blood falling out after each one.

"Leaves, it didn't have to be this way." She said as she hovered over me. She went to her pocket and pulled out a small vile and I knew exactly what it was, she was going to kill me.

"You know the drill, open up," Athena said pulling my mouth apart, there was barely anything I could do but lie there. Every part of my body was numb.

I tried my best to keep my mouth locked but she pried it open and poured the liquid down my throat. It burned as it went down my throat into my stomach.

I could feel myself start to fade back into the abyss.

"It didn't have to be this way." Athena sat next to me and held my hand. I was coughing and hyperventilating and in blinding white pain. My vision started to get blurry and felt life slipping away.

"I'll see you on the other side." That was the last thing I heard, then my vision turned white, and back to my prison I go. Goodbye Alexander, forever.

Jedidiah

It has been 20 minutes since Kailani went into the building and I was getting nervous, and so was River.

"We need to go get her. Now." River said.

"She said to wait until she called us. I want to go in there just as much as you want to." I said crouched behind a tree.

Just as I said that I heard screaming, it sounded like Leaves. Which was a good thing? I don't know yet. My heart was beating unusually fast and I couldn't help but feel like time was running out. Just then the door opened and there she was, Athena was carrying out Rhen's bridal style.

As she got closer I went and grabbed Rhen from Athena as River grabbed Athena. Athena was badly bruised and bleeding but Rhen was worse off.

Her usual beautiful skin was deeply bruised and bleeding everywhere. "

Hurry we need to get back onto Uraguay territory before they realize she isn't there anymore," Athena said weakly.

River picked her up bridal style and carried her through the woods. There was an uproar of howling from the building I assumed they realized she was gone.

I would have to ask Kailani later how she was able to get in there without being noticed. I looked down at Rhen and I couldn't wait to see her beautiful eyes again. It's over, finally. We can be at peace in the world and I can finally have my mate.

"Don't worry love, your safe now. I am never letting you go again." I said as I moved her hair out of her face. With the scars and all, she was still the most beautiful thing I have ever laid my eyes on.
