Suddenly I was in the front part of my mind and I could feel my eyes start to flutter open. I was blinded as the light hit them. I started to wiggle my fingers, I heard mumbling and I couldn't recognize them that well. I opened my eyes slowly again and let them adjust. Once I could see properly I saw that I was in a hospital room. I looked and around and locked eyes with beautiful blue eyes. "Hello, beautiful, welcome back." I couldn't help the smile that crept onto my face. His voice was music to my ears. 'You see what I mean?' Hetty said. 'Yes, you were.' I tried speaking to Jedidiah but my throat was insanely dry. "Shh, don't try to speak. It's been a while since you have spoken. You need to rest." He said grabbing a cup of water and bringing it to my mouth for me to drink. I leaned back and laid there as Jedidiah stared at me. I raised my eyebrow at him hoping he gets what I am trying to say.

"What? I have been away from you for months. I almost went rogue not having you near me. I just want to look at your beautiful face. All-day, all night, every day. If that's okay with you." His eyes were staring deeply into mine and I was so happy. This is what I wanted from him the moment we met and now it's finally happening. I nodded at him and smiled. I was enjoying this moment of the two of us together, but it was like as I said a moment. The door opened and in walked my mom and dad and then Dr.Oliver my uncle. "Oh, my baby! You're awake!" My mom said pretty loudly running toward me and hugging me. I hissed in pain and she backed away. "Oh, I'm sorry love, you are still pretty bruised up." I raised my hand letting her know it is fine. "Good, you woke up. I can see you are in a lot of pain still. That's what happens when you went through what you did. I have some medicine for you to take to your room. I will submit your discharge papers now, and you are free to go. As long as you stay on bed rest for another week. Jedidiah can watch over you, alright?" Dr. Oliver said. I nodded and smiled, and he walked out of the room.

"Glad to have you back sweetheart." My dad said and hugged me softly. "I will let you two have your alone time." Both of my parents walked out of the room and I was left with Jedidah. "Jed..." I coughed trying to speak, he tried to hush me again but I wanted to talk. "Jedidiah." Was all I said. A huge smile appeared on his face and it was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a while. "Was that all you wanted to say?" He asked me. I nodded to embarrassed to say anything. "I am going to see if you are discharged now and while I do that you should get dressed. There are some clothes in here for you already, your mom brought them a couple of days ago." Jedidiah grabbed my hand and lifted it to his lips. He gave a light kiss and yet lit a fire in me like never before. This was going to be an interesting week that's all I have to say. He got up and walked out of the room.

I got up slowly, and that's when I realized I could still barely move. I was going to need help getting dressed. I sat at the edge of the bed and waited for Jedidiah to come back to the room. "Hey, why aren't you dressed?" He asked walking to me. "I'm very sore, I can't move too well. I am going to need your help." I could see the panic in my eyes and I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. "Or I can ask Dr. Oliver to send in a nurse to help me," I said shrugging. I went to press the button for the nurse but Jedidiah stopped me before I could. "No, I got it." He walked over and grabbed the clothes from the dresser and came back to me. He slowly started to undo my hospital gown. "Uhh before you take it off, I think you should know I'm only wearing panties." My cheeks started to blush and Jedidiah's face went completely red. It was very cute. As he was taking the gown off I started to wince in pain. It was rubbing on slight bruises and cuts that were still healing. Once it was off I got extremely self-conscious, this was the first time he was seeing me and I was disgusting. His eyes went straight to my chest, but not in a sexual way.

He was running his fingers over my bruises, his touch was light as a feather. His eyes showed care, hurt, and anger. I could hear him start to growl lowly as he continued to look. "I'm so sorry this happened to you." He grabbed the sweatshirt and slipped in on over me. Then the black leggings and stood me up. There was a pair of fuzzy socks the hospital normally gives and I put those on. Jedidiah walked away and I saw him grab a brush and walked back to me. He stood in front and took my hair out of the ponytail it was in. He did that thing I least expected, he started to brush it. "What are you doing?" I asked him. "I'm taking care of my girl." Was all he said as he continued to brush my hair. A huge smile was plastered on my face at this gesture and what he said. I'm his girl.

We made it back to the castle and I was currently laying in my bed and Jedidiah was sitting on my usual spot on the windowsill. I was happy to be back, to say the least. "Since you know I don't have Leaves anymore I don't have that terrible curse, which means high school is a possibility now," I said to him. I was excited about the opportunity to go and meet people and have friends. And just be a normal person finally. "Yeah you are right, but I don't know if I want you there by yourself..." Jedidiah said. "What do you mean? No one is trying to get me anymore, Leaves is dead and back where she belongs. I'm safe." I shrugged. He stood up and came and sat at the end of my bed. "Just because Leaves is dead, doesn't mean your looks went away." I burst out laughing. "Are you jealous?? Don't be, no one is going to be paying attention to me." I said trying to calm his nerves. "You haven't looked in the mirror recently then." I blushed when he said that, his eyes were boring into mine it was too intense. This new side of him was refreshing and charismatic and loving. "If I had known that me being taken away, pushed to the back of mind for months, and beaten, to get you to finally be this way with me. I would have done it sooner." We both started laughing at all that I said. "Geez, when you put it that way it really puts everything into perspective." He scooted up next to me and laid down, his scent taking over.

"But seriously, high school is what I want to do. I really want this." I looked him in his eyes and basically begged him. But, if Jedidiah didn't want me to go because he thought I was in danger. "Okay. If this is what you want, who am I to stop you." I smiled and leaned into his chest. He wrapped his gigantic arm around me and I snuggled into him. His scent was calming and having him around made my healing process go by faster. "Rhen." I tilted my head up to him. "Yes." I waited for his answer and leaned back into his neck. "Will you go on a date with me, you know once you are all healed and gotten settled in school. If you want." I could hear his heart starting to beat faster, he was nervous. "Of course." He pulled me closer to him and gave me a kiss on the forehead. This right here was the life.
