CHAPTER 29

Casabella's POV

It was late at night when my uncle arrived from the business trip.

"Casabella what are you standing there, go get your uncle water to drink."

"Okay aunt." I uttered and left for the kitchen and returned back with the water and handed it to him.

"Honey are you alright and how did the business deal go?"

"I'm in no mood to talk right now." He lashed at her and gulped down the water.

I guess the business deal didn't go as planned. Karma is already catching up with them.

"Dad, you're back. How was your trip?" Annie uttered running into his arms.

"It was good, baby but I couldn't get the business contract and I'm afraid the company will soon crumble before my eyes.?

"Don't ever say that, honey. Nothing of such will happen except success." Lora cut in.

"Does that mean I can't work in the company with you?"

"I'm afraid, yes. I don't know how to grow the company again. It just seems like someone is working against me."

"I knew it. It's all this witch's bad luck into our lives. You won't believe what she did to me and Annie when you left. She caused a rift between me and my own baby."

"Is that true, Bella? Did you really do that?" He growled.

"I didn't do anything. She was the one who went with his demands, not me while Annie grew jealous about it."

"What's she talking about Lora?"

"Don't mind the trash she uttered. I forgot to tell, Jace came over to the house the day left for the business trip and ever since then he has been coming to check up on us."

"He's back?"

"Yes, I was surprised just as you are but there's something else."

"What is it?"

"All of a sudden, he developed interest in this bitch and asked to take her along to a business party and I couldn't reject his wish knowing how badly you wanted to collaborate with his father's company and make a great success out of it."

"You did the right thing. I'm proud of you sweetheart, this is an opportunity to make a move on his father."

"This bitch took it to her advantage and made fun of us because he got her an expensive dress for the party making our daughter feel bad."

"How could you do that after my warnings?" He questioned.

"I did go against your words because Lora was the one who started everything." I talked back to him for the first time.

"Did you just talk back that way to me?"

"That's what she did to me as well. She challenged me and called our daughter all sorts of names. I wonder where she got the spirit to talk back to us."

"How dare you talk that way to me and how dare you challenge my wife?" He bellowed and stormed towards me.

He gave me a resounding slap at first while Lora hit a glass cup on my head as blood began to gush out.

Dear God! I didn't plan for this misfortune. If I had known,I would have gone with godfather's words and never had insisted on coming back to this hell but my ego right now is to make them pay for everything they have done to me.

"Don't give up easily, remember the reason and purpose why you had planned to stay for a little while." My inner voice gushed out.

I clearly know the reason. It's to make them pay dearly for all these ill mannered treatment and I must see to it that they suffer greatly. Today is theirs to enjoy but tomorrow belongs to me because I have got what will break them completely.

"You're nothing without me and will never be. How dare you talk back to me in that manner? I shouldn't have taken you in if I had known you'd bring nothing but bad luck into my life." He roared, hitting me repeatedly on the face while Lora and Annie just stood together smiling devilishly.

I'll make you two lives miserable just like you did to me and if I don't do so then I'm not the daughter of my father.

Madison's POV

I was still lost admiring the view of the hotel when a knock came across.

"Who could it be?" I wondered and headed to check.

The moment I opened the door, I recognized the person. It was one of the bodyguards that came to pick us up when we landed here.

"Good day Ma'am. Sir asked me to bring your luggage. Where can I drop it?"

"Okay, thanks. You can drop it beside the bed." I replied and opened the door for him to get in.

"One more thing, Ma'am. What would you like to have for breakfast?"

"I'm not feeling hungry for now but in less than an hour, you can check back."

"Okay, Ma'am. I'll inform the caterers when you're ready."

"Sure. Thank you." I answered and shut the door the moment he left.

I walked back inside and placed the box on the bed and opened the bag and picked a long purple dress along with a bra and panties before heading to the shower.

In less than an hour I was all done with the shower and dressing up and was just drying my hair when an unfamiliar knock came across the door.

"Come in." I gave in and continued what I was doing when I heard his voice called out rudely.

"Do you have a dress for the party, Miss Williams?"

I wonder how he addresses someone so close to him in a good manner or he just sounds rude as well.

"Yes, I got one Mr Clinton. Thank you for asking."

"I'll send some people before the party begins."

"Okay." I answered and he walked out, shutting the door behind him.

Sometimes I wonder if he's really human. I didn't even ask him why he's sending some people to me?

~EVENING~

After having my lunch, I took a long nap and forgot the party was about to start until one of the room service cleaners woke me up for cleaning and the moment she finished cleaning up the room, I walked into the shower to take my bath.

And in a couple of minutes, I was done and ready to get dressed when I heard a knock at the door and checked out to see about eight ladies with makeup boxes in their hands and remembered what Mr Clinton said.

"Good evening Madam. We're sent by Mr Clinton to get you prepared for the party. He also asked me to hand this box over to you." The lady in the front said and gave me a big box which I took from her and let them in.

I dropped the box on the bed and opened it to see a long red dress with a pair of silver heels and a purse along with a short note.

"Wear this for the party and let the makeover artists do the rest. I'll come pick you up at exactly 7:30pm." I read the note to myself and closed the box.

"Are you ready Madam?" The same lady asked.

"Yes." I answered and walked over to the chair right next to the bed and let them begin their work to my face.

"We're done Madam. You can check yourself out." The lady whispered to me and I opened my eyes to see how beautiful I look.

"It's beautiful."

"Thank you Madam. You can get dressed now while we leave you to it."

"Sure." I responded and they packed up and left.

They did the makeover perfectly and professionally matching the colour of the dress.

I took out the dress from the box and wore it on and further out on the heels and sprayed my perfume all over the dress and stared at my reflection.

"You're good to go, Madison." I smiled at myself and picked up the purse and just then the door opened to reveal Mr Clinton in a red suit with his hair gelled to the back making him look handsome like a Greek god.

"I guess you're ready?"

"Yes."

Okay, let go. The party has already started."

"Okay." I uttered and walked towards him as we made our way out.

The moment we arrived at the party, he told me to lock hands with him and shouldn't talk to anyone even when I'm approached, which I accepted and abided by the rules.

If I had known something of sort would happen, I would have turned the offer down right to his face but because of Alex, I just had to agree to it since he's a good man and knows how to request for something in a nice way.

"Here you go, Miss Williams." He uttered and handed me a glass of wine.

"Thank you."

I was staring around as some couples were dancing to the slow music being played when an outbreak of light occurred which got everyone surprised but after a minute it came back on.

"Who can do something like this?" I conceited as the music came back on and everyone continued with what they were doing.

"I've a call. I'll be back." Mr Clinton said to me and walked away.

"My love, you look stunning and elegant." I heard a voice compliment someone from behind.

It wasn't the compliment that hit me, it was the person's voice that made me turn around and behold it was the person I dread to see. It was Joseph, my ex boyfriend with a pregnant woman a few inches away from me as they both were laughing so joyously.

"Why did fate have to make me meet with this betrayer again?" I thought as the flashes of the moments I had with him came back running like a virus to my body.

"Miss Williams, are you alright?" I heard Mark's voice calling out in a whisper to me.

"Oh...yes, I am." I managed to reply, trying to fight back the tears in my eye lid.

"I need to attend to something important. I'll be back shortly and I'll send one of my bodyguards to watch after you." He stated and I nodded in response with my head down.
