CHAPTER 30
Madison's POV
I found all the courage I could get and stopped the tears from falling off my ears. This isn't me because I'm not a weakling to ever give up that easily. I'm a strong woman and pain only makes me even stronger and bolder.
I can't let a mere man determine my life. I've moved on a long time ago and forgot ever knowing someone like him.
I was about to take my eyes off them when he sighted me and whispered something to the lady who in turn frowned.
I just wish the ground would open up and swallow me than to face such a man who broke me and yet I still can't get the hurt out of my head.
Men are always the same to me and nothing can change that. They only get attached to you for a reason and once they accomplish their aim then, they will pour out their true intentions to you after using you.
He smiled devilishly at me and walked towards me. I just wish I could take this anger and teach him a lesson but we're in a party and I won't want to tarnish Mark's prestige for a heartless man like him.
"Hello Maddy baby. Long time no see." He uttered the moment he
"What do you want?"
"Come on, why the cold attitude. I'm just surprised to see you after we broke up and shocked to see you here."
"Do you think I haven't moved on? Oh, please don't be a dickhead and get out of my face."
"Really? How come I don't see you with any man."
"My business ain't your business so it best you stick to your new life and let me be."
"You're still the same little old Maddy who is so innocent." He chuckled.
What a son of a bitch? He thinks I still have feelings for him. I was about to give him a mouthful piece when a bodyguard I recognized to be Mark's special bodyguard walked up to us.
"Ma'am, is he disturbing you?"
"Yes, please."
"Leave her alone or I'll have you thrown out." He said to him which made him leave quietly.
"Thank goodness!" I muttered with a sigh and thanked the bodyguard.
Mark's POV
I understood the reason for the outbreak so I didn't react. Instead, I waited for Jonas to give me a call which he did after the light came up.
After heading back to inform Madison to give me a minute, I saw she wasn't herself and wanted to know but since I had a mission to take care I left her and told Jonas to check up on her and head to Charles' room.
The son of a bitch is a dead meat today or should I say won't he won't live to enjoy this earth anymore.
I walked straight up to the elevator and immediately I arrived at the floor of his room. I removed my suit and rolled my shirt sleeve up and walked into his room to see him blindfolded and tied to a chair while Leo was standing.
"Boss." Leo called out and took my suit from me while I head towards Charles and gave him a punch on the face but the mother fucker begin to laugh.
"I was hoping when you'll show up. Why don't you let me see your face and stop acting like a coward." He spat out and I signalled Leo to take off the blindfold.
Seems like he doesn't know who he messed with but I'll make him know before his death.
"Oh...it even the cold hearted business tycoon, Mark Clinton and my worst rival."
"Yes, it is."
"Let me guess, you're the one who set up my warehouses on fire, right?"
"I did and what will you do?"
"Why the fuck will you do that to me?" He yelled and I shut him up.
"Why did you attack my wine plantation?"
"Because I hate you so much."
"I wish you had known who you messed up with earlier because if you did, you wouldn't have done so."
"I bloody know you so what else do you want to proclaim?"
"I'm sure you have heard a lot about a heartless Secret Mafia king whose identity isn't known to anyone."
"And what has that got to do with my situation here?'" He laughed sarcastically.
"It has got to be because I'm 'The Mafia King!" I bellowed to him.
"Yo... you're kidding right." He laughed which got me angry and brought out my gun and shot him in the left leg.
"Sshhit...it hurts." He cried out.
"That's for taking my words not serious."
"Fuck you man!!!"
"Enough of the games. I've got questions I need you to answer or else you're not going to like what I'll do to you."
"You're really a monster."
"I know so tell me who do you work for or should I say, 'WHO IS THE DEVIL'S EYE?" I inquired and his eyes showed evidence of fear.
"I...don't know who you're talking about. Also, I don't work for anyone." He stammered.
"Is it or do you want me to send a bullet to your throat?"
"Hahahahaha...Even if you'll give millions of money, I won't tell you who or what you need to know about the devil's eyes because he's the devil himself and will hurt you if you kill me."
"Tell me or I'll wipe out your entire family."
"You can go ahead and do it but I'm saying nothing about him and it final and talking about family, I heard the terrific incident of your father been killed and your little sister getting raped, it such a pity for her."
"Not a word about my sister!!!" I thundered and shot him in the hand.
"You've gone crazy! I guess you were too foolish to notice who planned it under your nose."
"Tell me who planned it and I'll spare your life and your so-called master."
"Come on Mark, the devil's eye is no match for you and the person who brought up the idea is someone who you know."
"Talk or I'll fucking give you a straight bullet to your mouth."
"You're already a loser. Hahahahaha..." He kept laughing and I shot him up with a bullet to the head.
I'll find all means to know who planned the murder of my father and Rosy's rape and the so called 'THE DEVIL'S EYE' and end their chapters for good.
"Clean up the mess, Leo." I ordered and walked to the bathroom and washed my hands.
After washing my hands, I walked inside to see Leo untying Charles' dead body from the chair.
I drew down my shirt sleeves and swore my suit and walked out of the room heading back to the party.
I won't back down until I find out who was involved in my father's murder and who the devil's eye is.
The moment I walked back to the party, Jonas saw me and approached me.
"Boss, there is a man who has been bothering Miss Williams but I think she knows him."
"Alright, I'll take care of that. Go join Leo and clean up." I replied and he nodded.
Madison's POV
"Miss Williams, I heard a man was bothering you?"
"Yes, it's someone I know but it's fine." I answered and saw Joseph staring at us.
"Is that the man?" He inquired, looking at the direction of Joseph.
"Yes, he was my ex."
"Interesting but why do you seem down?"
"I'm not Mr Clinton, I'm just shocked to see him here."
"I understand what you mean Miss Williams, I know what to make you feel better and make him less of a jerk for breaking your heart."
"What's that?"
"A dance."
"But..."
"Don't take it to heart, Miss Williams. It's to make him know you're better off without him."
"Thank you."
"May I have this dance?" He inquired and I took my graze to see Joseph and his so-called lady staring at us.
This is an opportunity to show him I'm not a weakling and let him know I've already moved on with my life.
"Sure." I replied to him with a smile and placed my hand on his as we made our way to the dance floor.
Even before we could start the dance, we heard some people whispering words to themselves.
"They look cute together."
"They're perfect and made for each other and even putting on the same colour of clothes?"
If they knew I'm only trying to get back at my ex. Never will I ever fall in another man's trap like I did with Joseph.
The whispers kept going on and on as the background music was changed into a slow romantic music for just the both of us to dance to it.
"Put in your best Miss Williams and let him know you've gotten over him." He whispered to me and I nod as we begin to dance.
We danced for a long time and went in a perfect rhythm with the music giving everyone a great performance.
I got a glimpse of Joseph staring at us with anger and pain. He lost his chance with me the moment he broke and shattered my heart.
We gave in the last performance as he held onto my waist while I held on to his neckline as everyone applauded us.
