CHAPTER 44
AUTHOR'S POV
"I'm afraid the girl has slipped into a deep coma but the face transplant was successful."
"What?" Daisy yelled in shock, almost losing her balance but her husband caught her right on time.
"Do you mean what you just said?" Sean asked to be sure what he heard was correct.
"Yes, Mr Williams. We tried the best we could."
"How long will it take for her to wake up?
"I can't say that because the chance of her waking up is 40 out of 100. All we have to hope for is a miracle."
Sean was totally speechless and sad on hearing the news while Daisy was only shedding tears
She couldn't understand why fate was testing them in this way. First, it took away her only child and sent a replacement to use her daughter's face on but only to receive another shocking news.
"I will have her moved into a VIP room and make sure she’s given intensive care.” He added and Sean nodded in response and walked up to his wife.
“It’s okay my love. I’m sure she’s a strong woman. She will overcome the obstacle.” He consoled his wife, who rested her head on his shoulder sobbing in silence.
“I’m really sorry to break this news to you both. We tried the best we could but I believe a miracle will happen because she’s really a fighter.”
“It‘s alright, Dr Edward. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome Mr Williams.”
“Honey, you’ll hurt yourself if you keep crying. We’ve got to move on now.”
“I just can’t Sean. You don’t know how it feels to carry a child for nine good months in the womb. Do you know the gift I was planning to give to her before her death?”
“You have got to try, honey. I promise to take revenge for our daughter but if you keep acting this way. I don’t think we’ll be able to do it together.”
“It’s just hurt so much, you know. Losing her was one of my greatest fears which had come to pass and now she’s gone.”
“Come here, sweetheart. It’ll be alright, okay?” He consoled her and wiped off her tears.
“Look at me, baby. We need to be strong if we really want to find the monsters that killed our baby girl or her soul won’t be at peace with us.”
“Okay darling. I’ll stay strong for us to fight this battle together for our baby.”
“Yes my love. Come here.” He assured her and hugged her.
Mark’s POV
I was in the office when I got a call from Jonas of the so-called captain who works for the devil’s eye being held captive in the lite headquarters.
He must have answers as to why Rosy is being a target and who the devil’s eye is and where he is hidden.
I finally arrived at the headquarters and met Jonas, Leo and two other lite group men waiting outside.
“Welcome King.” They uttered in unison.
“Where is he?” I asked furiously.
“This way, boss.” Jonas stated as we took a route that leads to a basement.
“Did he make any confession?” I asked Leo, who was right next to me.
“Not yet boss. He’s just proving stubborn and demands to see only you.”
“And here I come. Let's see if he will still remain adamant by keeping quiet.”
We took a narrow path and arrived at where he was held captive. He was tied to a chair and his face was all swollen and covered in blood.
I locked eyes with the man as he wild his eyes in fear which got me curious why he was staring at me that way.
I think he knows something about my hidden Identity as the mafia king or something else is fishy.
“The boss is here. I hope you’re willing to confess now.” One of the men standing right next to me uttered.
“Untie him from the chair." I stated, staring at the man.
"Are you willing to confess now since I'm here?" I cleared my throat as Leo offered a chair for me to see close to the man.
He burst out laughing like I said something funny.
"I just wanted to know the man with the courage to stand up against the devil's eye men without him getting himself killed."
"I thought as much. If only you know who you are messing with, you will know the devil's eye is no match for me. I just have a simple question I need you to answer and that's all."
"No one has laid hands on the devil's eye so who are you to even compare yourself with me just because your men caught me."
"You will know soon enough. Why are you after my sister?"
"I was only given instructions to kill the woman. I don't know what her relationship with the boss was all about."
"And you want me to believe that? Your boss must have told you something about her or an accomplice with your boss."
"I don't know what the hell you're talking about." He grumbled looking away from my face which shows he clearly knows something but doesn't want to spill it out.
I signaled Jonas to get the weapons used to torture people who refuse to spill out the truth.
I got up on my feet and took off my suit, dropped it on the chair and pulled off my sleeves.
"Do you know what I do to people who always lie to me or try to prove stubborn when questioned on the truth?" I asked with a pause.
"I torture them until they spill out the truth to me or have themselves get killed. The goal is your court on how you want yours to be." I added as Jonas dropped the box containing the weapons.
"I can't tell you anything but you need to know the person who is after your sister is someone who you were once close to. That's all I can say but who the devil's eye is or the identity of the person, that I can't say anything on that even if you decide to torture me."
This is the second time someone is saying that to me. Who must have been close to me before?
"Is that person a male or a female?" I inquired trying to recall who I was once closed to.
"It's a woman but it's best if you don't know the person because she's the definition of the devil's incarnate."
Is there a woman I was once close to in the past other than my sister? For sure my sister isn't evil so who could it be? I think I know who she is.
"Tie him back to the chair." I ordered the men and picked up my suit walking out of the place.
AUTHOR’S POV
After Casabella was moved to the VIP room, Daisy and her husband went to check her up to see how she was doing.
She was placed on a life supporting machine with her face covered with bandages as it will take a while for the face to sit perfectly on her.
Daisy felt sad seeing how she was placed on a life supporting machine and hopes she wakes up soon to see her daughter’s face once again.
“How long do you think it will take for her to wake up?” She found herself asking her husband who was standing right next to her.
“I don’t know my love but I hope she wakes up soon.”
“Do you think she will accept us and the new face we have given to her?”
“Honey, we don’t have to be thinking about that. Let's hope she wakes up soon and has her memory intact.” He explained and she nodded in response.
After staying for some time, they both left the hospital and promised to check her the next morning.
On reaching home, they found some bodyguards securing their mansion just like before and walked inside to meet Norman outside the door looking sad.
Daisy became scared and thought the monsters that killed her daughter showed up.
“What’s wrong Norman?” She asked.
“I don’t know how to put it but I believe it best if you both listen to it as well.”
Sean was more confused of what his late daughter’s bodyguard was trying to inform them and asked.
“Listen to what?”
“It’s best if we both come listen to it inside.” He suggested which got Daisy and Sean stares at each other with confusion but trailed after him.
They walked into the living room and Norman asked them to give him a minute to get the item.
Sean couldn’t help but look worried that maybe something had happened again in their absence.
Few minutes later, Norman returned inside the living room holding his late boss’ phone.
“How did you get the phone? I thought I kept it in my room.”
“After you both left, I decided to take a walk outside since the doctor asked me to try and move my body around and that’s how I saw the phone laying on the sofa.”
“Okay but what do you want us to listen to?”
“Before Boss was killed she made a sound recorder of her conversion with the monsters that killed her.”
“WHAT!!!” Daisy exclaimed.
“Yes ma’am. You can listen to it.” He responded and handed the phone to Sean who played the voice note.

Daisy kept wiping after listening to the sound recorder of how her daughter was killed all because of the land her father gifted her on her business deal with the Clinton Corporation.
She couldn’t believe those monsters killed her just because she declined to sell the land to them.
Sean who was wiping silently couldn’t say a word but kept replaying the sound recorder and listening to how his daughter was coughing after being shot three times.
He stood up from his seat and quietly headed to the stairs to check his daughter's room. He believes there is more explanation of the whole situation she must have got with the people somewhere hidden in her room he has to find so as to know how it all started and who really is Ronald Dickson and Adams.
