Chapter 51: The little girl
"What are you doing here!?" Edward was enraged when he saw the woman who was fueling all of his misery.
"Please, Edward, let's talk; I'm so sorry I just did that because I love you so much," Sofie says.
"You don't need to explain anything to me because I don't care about your f*cking love, so get out of here now!" he yelled at her as he was trying to hold his anger to not hurt her.
"No, please listen to me, Edward, I love you—"
"Juan!"
"Yes, sir?"
"Get this slut out of my sight right now," he demanded.
"OK fine! no need to escort me, I'm going to leave on my own," Sofie said angrily as she walked out.
"We're not done yet, Edward," Sofie said quietly.
~
Anthony and Anastasia haven't spoken about their fight last Saturday night because they don't want to think about it. They're fine now, and that's all that matters, aside from Anastasia's plans.
She had already risen before he could. Anthony was exhausted from his flight the day before, and the kids were happy to see their father again.
"Wake up, honey; you promised me and the kids that we'd go out later," she said as she roused him.
Anthony groans and stirs and she looks up at him, waiting to meet those perfect eyes. He opens his eyes and stares at the ceiling for a bit. He then looks at her.
He laughs. "You're always up so early," he says, smiling.
"I'm just looking forward to our family date," she explained.
"Come on," he says. She smiles and leans in to kiss him on the lips. He says, "Your lips taste so sweet," and she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.
"We still have 15 minutes, honey, so go back to sleep," he says.
"But I'm no longer sleepy," she says, and he smiles.
"Then let's just lie down," he says, nodding.
They were just lying there when his phone rang and he answered it. Anthony then looked at her after the phone call. She turns to face him. He has this expression on his face. "What?" she inquires.
"Nothing, just get ready," he says. "Go take a shower, I'll follow you," he says, and she nods. She kissed his lips again, but he did not return the kiss. She pretended not to notice and got up to get ready.
She went into the bathroom and showered. Before leaving, she brushed her teeth, washed her face, and styled her hair. Anthony walks in, and she looks at him in the mirror. He takes a look at her. She spits out the toothpaste's remaining foam.
"Are you okay?" she inquires. He turns off the shower and ignores her. "What wrong with him?" she wonders, perplexed.
She then exited, removing the towel from her body and quickly changing. She was dressed in a puff crop top and high-waisted white pants. She chose white jeans with rips all over them. Anthony emerges from the house with a towel wrapped around his lower half.
"Change your pants," he tells her.
"What? Why?" she wonders.
"You have a rip on your thigh that I don't want people to see," he says. She simply rolls her eyes. "Change it right now."
"Honey, they're pants, and I'm not changing them," she says. He scoffs loudly and
leaves the room, slamming the door behind him. "What the f*ck is his problem?"
They ate a delicious breakfast. "Daddy, are we going to go to the movies as well?" the little boy asks, excitedly.
"Yes, baby," Anthony replied as little Eddie yelled with delight.
They quickly arrived at the nearest movie theater. Anastasia sighs as Anthony continues to ignore her. "Why is he so angry at me?" she asked, moving closer to him and kissing his cheek.
"I love you," she says quietly, but there is no response. "Daddy, did you two fight?" Ana inquires, noticing her father's silent treatment of her mother. Anastasia sighed and was about to change her seat when Anthony grabbed her. "You don't need me to change your seat, honey. I love you too; just behave and stay beside me," Anthony said as he kissed her on the forehead, while Ana giggled at his father's sweetness towards her mother.
~
"Daddy, hurry up or we'll be late for the movie theater," Akia exclaimed.
"Honey, it's still early," Edward said as he fiddled with his shirt.
"I'm sorry, daddy," she apologized, laughing.
"Mommy will be happy too if she's here," Akia added. Every time he hears her name, Edward feels guilty in his heart as jow he regrets letting her go so easily. Edward misses Cassandra terribly.
They finally arrived at the movie theater after a few minutes. Akia is ecstatic. "Stay here, I'm just going to get some popcorn," Edward told the young girl as she nodded to her father before leaving her in the corner.
Akia looked around with joy in her eyes; this was their first outing with her father in five years. "I miss my mom," she said quietly.
"Ana, don't run," a woman's voice said as Akia hurriedly looked around, a big smile on her face when she finally recognized who that woman was.
"Mommy?" Akia muttered, jumping in delight. "Mommy is here," she said as she rushed after the woman.
"Ana?? didn't I tell you not to run? if you hurt yourself because of that, your father will be angry," Anastasia said to Ana as they walked to the comfort room, while Akia followed them silently, believing Anastasia was her mother. They were about to enter the restroom when a lovely little girl unexpectedly hugged her.
"I miss you so much, Mommy," Akia said as she hugged her tightly.
Anastasia was taken aback when this little girl addressed her as "mommy," but she knows she is not her mother. "Are you lost, baby girl?" Anastasia inquired of Akia.
"What's wrong with you, Mommy? I'm not lost because I'm with you," Akia explained.
"Hey, she's not your mom! she's my mommy!" Ana exclaimed angrily as she noticed Akia tightly hugging her mother as if she didn't want to be away from her. As a result, Ana pushed her, causing Akia to cry.
"Ana! what did you do!? you don't need to push her," Anastasia exclaimed as she rushed to pick up Akia.
"Shhh, hey baby girl, don't cry. Where's your mom?" she asked the little girl, but Akia just sobbed more, believing her mother didn't recognize her.
"Mommy, it's me Akia," she sobbed as she hugged Anastasia once more. Anastasia felt something in her heart as if she wanted to believe this little girl, but she knew she wasn't her mother.
"How about your father? Where is he?" she asked again as she wiped Akia's tears.
"He's in the popcorn section," Akia said.
"Did he know that you were here?"
"No."
"All right, let's go. I'll help you to find your father," Anastasia said as Akia nodded.
"But Mom!" exclaimed Ana angrily.
"Ana, stop that attitude. Let's find her father first," Anastasia said to her daughter, as she couldn't believe that she was acting like that. "Don't feel sorry for her; she's lost because she mistook me for her mother." Anastasia said to Ana, "Okay, fine," Ana said as she secretly rolled her eyes and followed her mother.
~
Akia?? Where are you? " Edward looked worriedly at her daughter.
"F*ck this is my fault, why did I just leave her here alone?" he bemoans.
"Daddy!! Daddy! " Akia yelled to her father as she dashed up to him and hugged him tightly.
"Where have you gone?" I was very concerned about you. Please don't do that again. " Edward said, kissing her on the cheek.
"I'm sorry, daddy. I simply followed mommy. "I saw them here, and she was with me," Akia exclaimed cheerfully.
"What exactly did you say?" You're with your mother? " Edward checked with his daughter to make sure he heard her correctly, and Akia responded with a nod.
"Where is your mother? You said you were with her," Edward asked as he looked around, expecting to see Cassandra.
"I'm sorry, daddy. Mommy was just there, and I never thought she'd leave so quickly," Akia said, her eyes welling up.
"Shhh, don't cry, honey," Edward consoles her daughter as they walk into the movie theater.
