Chapter 63: Gunshots
When they got to the end of the room, there was a hallway that led in two directions. Mark and Juan were closing in on Edward quickly as they moved forward.
At the far end of the corridor stood a massive door.
hallway.
"What exactly is it, Mark?" he inquired.
He stated, "There is a bomb on the other side of the door." "We have to be cautious," Edward said.
~
"What do we do now? The cops haven't arrived yet," Mark wondered.
"Let me think," Edward said after a brief moment of thought.
"No need, I've already found another way in," Mark explained as they followed him.
The shooting lasted about a half hour before all of the opponents were killed.
Edward's eyes scanned the area for anything suspicious. The vast area was strewn with blood and dead bodies.
Suddenly, a group of men appeared in front of them, followed by the one person he wishes to kill.
"Good day, Edward," he said.
"Hi, Babe," Sofie said, infuriating Edward even more.
"So, you're a part of this sh*t, Sofie. If only I'd known that leaving you alive was a mistake," he said venomously.
Sofie burst out laughing. "Oh, it was more than just a mistake," she exclaimed as she charged at him.
"It's all because of you, Edward," she said as she pulled the trigger on his gun. This would not have happened if you had chosen me at that time," Sofie explained.
"Sofie, my patience with you has already reached its limit." So I'm sorry for this," Edward apologized as he hit her as hard as he could with the gun in his hand, causing Sofie to fall, before pulling his gun from his waistband and aiming at her.
"You coward, fighting with women and playing with guns," Anthony chuckled. Edward then lowered his gun and discarded it. "All right, let's play fair, shall we?" he said, and Anthony jumped at him.
When Edward pushed him to the side, he fell. When he got up, they launched at him again, but he held his hand and threw him over his shoulder. He despises this f*cker. He despised the way he regarded his wife. "I'm going to kill him. I'm going to do what I didn't do before," Edward told himself as he ran up to him and kicked him in the stomach, causing him to fall away.
He punched him in the face with his collar and threw him to the ground. He hovered over him, punching him in the face until his knuckles were covered in blood.
Edward grabbed his throat and began choking him. "Where is she, Where is my WIFE?" he kept asking, desperate to be set free.
"Tell me, where is Cassandra?" Edward demanded, his grip on his neck tightening.
"Edward!" he heard behind him, her small and trembling voice. He turned around, and his gaze met those beautiful, tear-filled eyes. Her lower lip was bleeding from a cut.
Sofie had a gun to her head and was holding her forearm.
Seeing her broke Edward's heart. Her chaste wife. "If you don't leave him, I won't.
Consider it twice, "Sofie said, holding the gun to her head. "Ahh..." she groaned. Edward stood up and let go of Anthony.
"It's between you and me, Sofie, don't bring my wife into it," Edward said, but she smirked. "Oh really, Well, I don't think I'd want to let go of someone who stole you from me so easily," she said as she drew her closer.
Seeing this made Edward's blood boil. He yelled, "GET YOUR F*CKING HANDS OFF HER!" "Calm down, babe. Take it easy," Sofie advised.
"Let go of her RIGHT NOW!" he exclaimed.
tone. "Well, if that's the case, then let's make a deal, shall we?" Sofie smirked. "Oh, how badly I want to rip her throat," he thought to himself.
"What the f*ck do you want?" snarled Edward.
"It's really simple, Edward; all I want is for you to be with me and forget about this b*tch," she explained.
"Now, if you want to keep your pretty little wifey alive... You should agree with me." Sofie smirked.
"Please, Edward, don't listen to her," Cassandra said. His eyes met her pure ones.
"Be with me or else..." Sofie said as she removed the gun's safety. "All right!... All right, I'll do it, just move the gun away from her," Edward said.
"What!!... Edward NO!" cried Cassandra.
"Sweetie, I have to; please don't make it any more difficult for me."
"Excellent, now... Come with me," smirked Sofie. Her fingertips were hovering over the trigger.
As Juan came running behind, Edward noticed Mark looking at him with wide eyes from the other side.
"Aren't you going to come with me!?" Sophie inquired impatiently as he approached them slowly.
"Let her go now, the cops are here!" yelled Anthony.
Sofie places her gun in her waistband and her hands around Cassandra's waist. "F*ck!" she exclaims as she slams into her. Before she landed on her face, Edward reached out and grabbed her.
"Oh my God, Cassandra, are you okay?" Edward asked, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her to his chest.
"I'm fine now," she says, her eyes welling up with tears. "That's fine, I've got you," he says as he wipes her tears. She wraps her arms around him and buries her face in his chest. "It's all right, let's go home," he says as he pulls away. They turned to leave, only to be stopped again.
"Hey Edward, I almost forgot about your gift," Anthony smirked. In a matter of seconds, he drew his gun, aimed at him, and fired without hesitation.
When Edward heard Cassandra scream, his breath became stuck in his throat.
BANG..!
Everything ceased to function. There was nothing but the sound of the heart beating. He looked down, expecting pain to strike, but it never did.
Edward's eyes widened as he realized what had happened. Cassandra took a place directly in front of him Her back was turned to him. "Ahh..." she moaned. Edward then heard two more gunshots fired by Mark and Juan. Anthony and Sofie died on the spot.
Cassandra moaned, "Ahhhh. E-Edward."
"No... no, no, no," he said, removing her blood-splattered hand from her stomach. Her pristine white shirt was splattered with blood.
"Cassandra...."
