Drunk talk
Arthur had not expected that Livy would still be wearing the watch he had given her even at night; expensive watches of the highest quality and of course, that was where the bug was placed.
'Sister-in-law, you're drunk! This is only the third cup.' Dave's panicked voice came from the recorder.
'I'm no drunk.' Livy babbled.
'Yea, yea, a drunk person will not admit that they are drunk! I haven't told you everything and you are already emotional. Are you really jealous, Sister-in-law?'
'Don't call me sister-in-law! I told you call my name! My name is ... Liiiiivy.'
Dave let out a 'tsk, tsk, tsk' with dissatisfaction on his lips.
"All right, Livy. Well. Don't be jealous, ok? I've said that in the past. In Boss' heart there is only you now.'
Right after this last sentence, no one said anything more. There was the sound of clinking glasses, as well as the sound of water being poured into a glass. There was faint laughter echoing, but it seemed to be coming from other people around.
"Where exactly are they? The pub?" Arthur looked up.
Evander almost closed his eyes, hearing this, he replied, "No. It's a hotpot restaurant near the university."
Aside from the bug, Evander had also arranged bodyguards according to Arthur's orders. Since they found out that Dave took Livy out, Arthur ordered them to follow him. Dave wasn't a man with bad intentions, but Arthur was just wary of things that weren't desirable.
And what is it?
Hotpot restaurant near university provide liquor? Does the university know about this, but doesn't act?
Arthur heard the drunken conversation again in the earphones, but it was entirely trivial words. He said coldly, "Move the restaurant, you choose the best grounds. If the owner refuses, at least ask the owner to remove the liquor from their menu. Or just buy the restaurant at a high price."
Evander smiled, as if he had expected this. "I will arrange it."
Seeing how firmly Arthur handled this, Evander knew that this was all because of Livy. This girl was quite formidable, she could in an instant make the indifferent Arthur bother himself over these kinds of things. Arthur usually wouldn't look twice at a small problem in front of him, this time he even very neatly arranged everything. It must be because he really cares about Livy.
Ever since the marriage contract was drawn up, Evander thought Arthur just wanted to pull Livy out of her misery.
Apparently, right now that's not the reason.
Granted, Arthur had chosen Livy himself as a wife candidate, he didn't say it, but Evander knew that Arthur had been very considerate when deciding this.
Evander closed his eyes again, and relaxed on the sofa. "What about the dorm guard?"
Arthur's hand moved slightly to turn down the volume on the recorder. "I'll have someone monitor her. If she's still looking for trouble, get her out."
Bad gossip about Livy had already spread. He thought it was natural, he intended to close this matter and silence everyone. He didn't expect that someone had such a sharp mouth, and was deliberately bothering her.
Arthur was dissatisfied.
Even though he is still a new investor in the university, his name is among the top contributors there. Thus, he was in a powerful position to co-organize inappropriate things. Just show some evidence and name an order, everyone else will obey.
Today the power of money is above all.
"You go home. The job is done." He said.
"Oh?" Evander opened his sleepy eyes. "A bit tired today."
"There's a guard downstairs. Ask him to drive you, don't drive when you're sleepy." Arthur turned his chair around, facing the window whose curtains were open and revealing a beautiful garden beyond.
Evander who saw the back of the chair, grinned. "Well, I won't hesitate then."
Half an hour after Evander left, Arthur didn't move from his chair. He was facing the garden, but he could not see the garden at all due to his poor eyesight. The voices in the earphones were still audible, so he focused on them.
In conclusion; Livy was drunk.
Dave could handle it, the bodyguards were also there. Arthur just waited for Livy to come back and then he would sleep.
Just as he heard the sound of wind coming from the recorder, he knew that Livy had walked out of the restaurant. At this time, his phone rang. He needed to bring the phone up to his eyes to see clearly who the caller was, which turned out to be Livy.
His eyebrows slanted in confusion. He picked up the call but didn't speak right away.
On the other side, voices cackled, "Hello, hello? Arthur ... where are you?"
"Hmm?" Arthur shifted in his chair. "You're drunk."
That was not a question, it was a statement.
"No, no. What do you mean drunk? No drunk!" Livy was babbling.
"You're drunk ..."
"Arthur, can you come get me?" Livy stopped to hiccup. "I want you to pick me up now."
"Who are you with now?" Arthur's tone was cold. His hand tightened on his phone.
He didn't hear Dave's voice on the recorder, did Dave leave her alone?
Livy replied in a drunken lazy tone, "There's Dave in here and some cooked beef in a spicy broth. It's so spicy ... Arthur ... my stomach hurts. Sob."
"..." Arthur was speechless.
"Just say, if you don't come get me ... I'll sleep in the hotpot pot. Are ... aren't you worried? Hmm? Worried or no? I'll be hotpot meat, y'know!"
Livy laughed to herself.
This drunken habit was so bad.
"Where's Dave?" Arthur gritted his teeth. "I want to talk to him."
"All right, Arthurrrr." Then he heard Livy scream, "Dave, he misses you so much and wants to talk to you!"
"Hello, Boss?" Dave greeted hastily.
"Why are you telling her crap? Even getting her drunk. You know, she has a curfew in the dorm?" Arthur didn't mince words.
"Huh, Boss, I didn't force her to drink. Who knew she'd be drunk in three cups?" Dave chuckled awkwardly. "You must have heard it all, I don't do anything out of line."
'Still want to defend yourself?'
Arthur's jaw clenched. He said, "Wait there, I will come."
"Eh? There's no need, Boss, I'll—"
Arthur hung up without hearing Dave finish.
He picked up the thick jacket on the seat and put it on, then ordered the driver to take him straight to the hotpot restaurant. The place was quite far, it took over an hour of travel and it was almost ten o'clock.
When Arthur finally arrived he immediately saw a standing Dave and a slumped Livy against the wall. The girl was still babbling and resisting Dave's touch, looking irritated.
"Sister-in-law, get up, let's go home."
"Let me go. Just leave me here!" Livy pushed Dave's hand away.
"Come on, Sister-in-law. Don't be like this, at least stand up."
"No. No!!!"
Dave was at his wit's end, he knew for a fact that he would be beaten by Arthur after this.
"I want to sit here, I don't want to be hotpot meat ..............."
At this time, Arthur arrived before them. Dave rubbed the back of his head, chuckling. "Hehehe."
Arthur ignored him easily and crouched close to Livy. Just when he touched her, Livy reacted and hugged his neck tightly.
"Arthur ... it's Arthur .................. I know it's you Arthurrrr. You smell so good like a flower."
Arthur expressionlessly pulled her to her feet. "You're drunk. The dorm is closed, I'll take you home first."
"Home? Which home, Arthurrrr. My house has been sold by my damn aunt ............ I can only sleep on a hotpot pot. Hic."
Dave pursed his lips to hold back a laugh.
Arthur's hands held her waist gently, but she clung to his neck so hard that they almost fell.
"Boss—"
"Stay there. You got her drunk like this, don't expect to be able to do it again." Arthur was angry.
Livy laughed. "Dave forced me to drink, Arthur. He who pours alcohol into my glass over and over ...... he's evil, right? Hic."
Arthur turned to look at Dave. His gaze was cold.
"Boss, I didn't force her. She slandered me." Dave said helplessly.
Arthur didn't answer. Ignoring Dave, he went to his car. Never mind that Dave was after him.
"Boss, I will help you."
Even though the lighting here was good, Arthur still couldn't see clearly. He was worried that both of them would fall.
"Go away," said Arthur coldly.
Dave stopped and was speechless.
Arthur and Livy continued on their way. After they made it to the car, Dave actually took off, laughing.
"Buy me some water." Arthur said just as he managed to bring her inside.
The driver understood and left.
On the other hand, Livy was still squirming chaotically. She didn't stop hugging Arthur's neck and hiccuping loudly. Sometimes she laughed. From her mouth came the sharp smell of alcohol.
Is this a high level of alcohol?
Arthur's thoughts were shattered as his face was pulled down. He felt Livy's warm breath as their noses touched. He quickly backed away.
"Sit tight."
"I'm not sitting. I'm sleeping now. Arthur ... come on, sleep together ............"
"..."
"........ in the hotpot pot."
"..."
"If I'm a meat in a hotpot pot ... then you're a veggies ............" Livy slurred, completely leaning against Arthur's body.
"... I don't want to sleep in a hotpot pot," Arthur answered purposely.
Livy giggled, her hand reaching up to pat Arthur's cheek, her eyes opening and closing heavily from the effects of the alcohol. "Then where shall we sleep, hmmmm? Hm? Hm?"
".................."
"You did not answer!!!" Livy's eyes were angry, pressed her finger against Arthur's nose, her alcoholic breath filled the car. "I ... I'll sleep on your lap, veggie."
Before Arthur could answer, her head immediately leaned against his.
She smiled. "Rub my head. Rub it."
Arthur said nothing and rubbed her head. Livy's hair was so silky and soft, even though it was messy, it could still be handled. Gently, Arthur wiped the sweat off her forehead, Livy muttered happily.
"Go to sleep. I'll wake you up when it's time."
Livy opened her eyes again, saying suddenly, "So handsome."
"..."
"You're so handsome, man."
This must have been some drunken rant, but Arthur got on with the game, "You're so cute."
Livy's eyes blinked slowly.
After a few moments she sat down again and took something from the pocket of the chair in front of her. An old and shabby teddy bear. Her expression was so happy it was like finding a treasure. Then she reached into the bag, and took out everything that was in it.
Now the items stored were instantly messy.
"Don't make trouble," Arthur said.
Of all the items, Livy was attracted by the doll. "Why? Did your girlfriend give it to you?"
"I don't have a girlfriend."
"Of course you have ....." Livy paused, looking down. "... because you are so handsome. Many people like you."
Arthur stared at her silently.
"Even I like you ..." Livy continued.
Time seemed to stop for a few seconds, only seconds were so long and slow. Without a smile on his face, Arthur asked, "You like me?"
His expression was blank.
Livy looked up in annoyance. "Why? You think I'm lying?" Then she turned her face again. "I know everything, that you have a girlfriend. I want to express my love for you to turn to me. You must like me too!"
"You're drunk."
"And don't you think drunk people are very honest? Huh?" Livy replied.
Arthur's hand tugged at the seatbelt hook, not completely ignoring her. He said, "Dave said some shit to you."
"He's not lying!" Livy grabbed Arthur's shirt collar angrily, but then her expression turned somber. "Leave her, will you? Pleaseeee. Whoever you like just leave them, I ... I like you and want to be with you."
"... What do you like from me?"
Livy was silent for a moment then let her hands slip weakly from Arthur's collar. "I don't know."
Her hands held Arthur's cheeks instead. She moved his face left and right. "Because you're handsome maybe."
The answer was very stubborn.
"Here," her finger pointed at Arthur's lashes, "these are long and thick. Very nice. Your eyes ... unique pattern."
"It's flawed." Arthur deliberately answered.
Livy shook her head disapprovingly. "It's just a little, you are so handsome." Her fingers moved to his eyebrows, nose and lips, explaining one by one, "Your eyebrows are also thick and beautiful. You have a sharp nose ... your lips are so thin and sexy. Smile, come on, smile."
Arthur's lips smiled because of Livy's finger pressure.
Livy was satisfied. "Maybe that's what I like ... you believe? Hm?"
After all the drunken remarks, Arthur was barely speechless. Livy's hand had slipped down and she closed her eyes.
"You're kind too, so kind," Livy slurred through her eyes closed. “You treated me gently, and kindly … you prepared a well-equipped study room as well ……………”
Arthur stared at her. Unknowingly a faint smile appeared on his lips.
"I will believe in drunk people from now on." Arthur said in a deep and heavy voice.
Livy tilted her head. Noticing that there was a smile on Arthur's lips, she stretched out her hand.
"I like you ..." Livy's face went forward.
Before Arthur knew what she was going to do, her face was very close, and slowly soft lips pressed against his. Arthur's eyes widened.
It wasn't a forced kiss.
But the smooth, springy texture made his nerves stop moving in an instant. Eyes blink slowly, while his hands clenched. In that position, he did not refuse.
Why didn't he refuse?
Arthur didn't understand, even if he had the answer, he wouldn't believe it. These lips were so intoxicating, how could they be supple and soft at the same time?
At that moment, Arthur, lost his mind to turn the gentle kiss into a deep and lustful one.
... to be continued ...
