Naughty cat bite
As Arthur was tasting the soup, he suddenly said, "Is this chicken soup?"
"Yeah," Evander replied, "It will keep your body immune with ginger and red dates."
Arthur ate more slowly and enjoyed the soup. He remembered that Livy really liked chicken soup too. She likes almost all chicken dishes; laying hens, broilers, turkeys and others.
"Did Dave have everything ready?" asked Arthur, remembering the day, that there were still two weeks left before he left the country.
"You should be observed for a week. Two days before departure, you should do a thorough check. That's what Dave said."
Livy heard this conversation while glancing at Arthur. Even though she didn't join in the conversation, she understood what they were discussing.
Two weeks before Arthur's departure abroad for surgery—meaning that her exams are very close. Tomorrow she has to go back to the dorm again and focus on studying.
Arthur downed the whole soup and said, "I'll do it."
"Glad to know you were so cooperative," Evander replied half mockingly.
Livy also wanted to ask something, but she still didn't dare to make a sound since Evander exposed everything that happened while she was drunk. Apart from being embarrassed, she also felt that the effects of her drunkenness were really bad. Not only did she throw up on Arthur, bit his arm, she was even talking nonsense and stuff.
She even mocked Arthur as a pervert in front of everyone!
Luckily everyone was so drunk that none of them heard the crap. However, as a result, they were exposed to the sap because of her actions, she felt guilty now.
"Where's Dave?" Arthur placed the empty bowl on the table.
Evander shrugged. "Didn't you kick him out?"
"..."
"If you don't kick him, it means he's back in the hospital," Evander continued.
Arthur was expressionless as he looked ahead blankly. "He seems busy lately."
"The hospital is becoming known and every day many patients come and go. He also has to take care of your medical record for discussion with doctors abroad. That's only natural." Evander took sweet soy sauce and poured it on the soup.
Seeing how Evander added too much soy sauce, Livy didn't blink. This man is truly a sweet tooth.
"And he said he didn't want to be a doctor." Arthur deliberately brought up this topic without being mocking.
Instead, Evander scoffed. "You should know why he returned."
"..."
Evander had expected that Arthur would not retort if he said this. Indeed, there is a big reason why Dave returned to the medical world, even though all of his life's sufferings started there. Dave is doing all of this for Arthur, to help him get back on his feet.
In the past, Dave was the son of a famous hospital owner. Almost all members of his family are in the hospital business. His father, mother and even his two older brother and sister are doctors.
As for Dave, he's just a free man, he doesn't want to be like his family, but ended up going to medical school. At a very young age, he graduated with the best grades—even though he has the ability, but almost all of his grades are the intervention of his father.
That's what Dave doesn't like about his family, which relies on privilege to achieve success.
His real dream is to become a soccer player. Because his family strictly forbids it, young Dave flees into the streets meeting up with his soccer-playing friends, only to have his family hurt them all in some sneaky way.
From that he forgot his dream and hid as far away from his family. Just when he was about to starve to death and was stranded in the streets, Arthur and Evander found him. Without saying much he took him to the headquarters which used to be just a small old basement.
They both also knew how much Dave owed them. So he felt he would do anything for them—especially for Arthur.
On the other hand, Livy didn't know why since they were discussing Dave, the situation didn't seem right. Until the two returned to the room, Arthur just sat on the but bed and was silent.
Before thinking about sitting down, Livy said, "I'd better go back to help them tidy up."
"Stay here," Arthur said in a deep voice.
The man's magnetic voice was like a rope that pulled her tightly, making her obey and sit up. "Are you mad at me?"
"I'm tired."
"Huh? Yeah, I-I know. I made too much noise last night and who knows what time you brought me to this room with such difficulty after I was drunk." Livy shifted restlessly on the other edge of the bed, not daring to look at him, even as the bed creaked behind her. "B-But believe me, I accidentally got drunk last night, I don't know who traded my drink for beer, hmm, could it be Dave? I don't think so."
With a slight smile, Arthur said, "Evan traded your drink."
"Well, Evander—of course he is! Why didn't I think that he could be that sneaky? No, no, don't get me wrong, I don't mean to say he's sneaky, but ... ah, why am I even talking about him? Actually what I mean is …” Livy paused for a second as she was trembling and her heart was racing. "Actually I mean, I really accidentally got drunk and bit you—even threw up, so I ..."
Just as she dared to look back, her words trailed off, and she saw him fast asleep in bed. She let out a breath she unconsciously held back.
Her expression immediately softened and she smiled. This man's sleeping face was really addictive, making all kinds of coldness melt away, becoming warmer in an instant.
She rose up slowly, pulled the folded blanket and covered his body with it.
"I don't know until what time you were busy because of what I did last night. I'm sorry."
Livy apologized from her heart. Apart from being embarrassed, she actually felt guilty; she broke his taboo on getting drunk, then got into trouble, and let him take care of her all night. Even when the sun had not yet risen Arthur was already busy. How could this man not be tired?
'Yeah, let him sleep.'
In the end, Livy decided to leave. She came down from the second floor of the headquarters to find the workers who were still very busy and helped them.
Half an hour later, she returned to the room with a towel and warm water that one of workers had prepared. She got to the bed slowly and found Arthur still sleeping in the same position. Then she pushed aside the blanket after previously placing the basin on the table. But before she finished pulling the blanket, her hand was grabbed first and she who wasn't alert immediately fell onto the bed. Right next to Arthur, slightly on top of him.
Livy held her breath nervously. "You ..."
Her sentence stopped when she was pulled in a warm hug.
"Cold. Don't move." Arthur muttered.
"But I have to—"
"Shhh." Arthur's finger was placed on her lips, slowly his patterned eyes opened glazed. "Sleep with me."
Livy couldn't answer or refuse, because when his finger left, his lips replaced the finger on hers. Then they engaged in a struggle with each other, chewing each other so passionately.
After their hot kiss broke off, her lips immediately pouted. "You always kiss me all of a sudden!"
Arthur deliberately closed his eyes with a smile. "If I ask permission first, will you give it?"
Livy was very embarrassed and did not answer.
Arthur's arms moved around her shoulders and their forebodies touched. The man's head was tucked into her neck, so the sharp ends of his hair made Livy laugh.
"Arthur, let me go. It's still early." She complained.
"What do you think I'll do, hm?"
Arthur's warm breath brushed against the skin of her neck and ears all at once. It made her helpless.
"I didn't think anything of it," said Livy, even though she had actually thought that Arthur would do 'something'. "When will we be back?"
In that embrace, Arthur opened his eyes. "Are you bored here?"
"I'm only asking because I don't know what to say."
Hearing this ridiculous excuse, Arthur secretly found it amusing. He pulled away from their embrace and planted a kiss on her forehead, then got up to sit. For a moment she felt lost when the warmth left her. Honestly, she loved it when Arthur hugged her and she was still not satisfied.
Just as Arthur was about to rise up, his phone rang. He looked at the contents of the incoming message and his expression turned cold.
Livy noticed the change. "What's wrong?"
When he saw Livy, his eyes softened again. "We're going home now. Shouldn't you go back to the dorm? I'll take you."
'Why the sudden rush to kick me out? Did something happen?'
Her mind immediately gave ugly speculations, she quickly pondered sadly.
Arthur took his jacket, not to wear it himself, but he put it on Livy's body. This made her look up.
"Maybe because it's in the mountains, it's colder. Better not catch a cold." After putting on the jacket, Arthur rubbed her head. "Come on."
Livy obediently let her hand be grabbed. In order to hide the blush on her face, she lowered her head all the way.
"Boss, are you ready to go back?" Kibe came from the front to meet them on the stairs.
Arthur nodded. "Where's Evan?"
"Second boss left a while ago. Said he had to get back to the office soon." Kibe explained while opening the door.
The driver was waiting in front right when they came out, because the driver had actually been ready since morning. As soon as he saw Arthur, he immediately moved.
Arthur paused to say to Kibe, "I won't be here for long, you take care of things and report to Evan. Don't throw a tantrum."
"Yes, Boss." Kibe chuckled, then glanced at Livy embarrassedly. "Little sister-in-law, you don't want to stay here a little longer? Everyone likes you, you should stay for a few more days. Let's have another party like last night, ok?"
Being reminded about the party again, Livy didn't know what to say.
Luckily Arthur immediately pulled her closer to him. "I just told you and you immediately threw a tantrum."
Before Kibe could defend himself, Arthur immediately pushed Livy into the car and he followed after. He opened the window slightly and said, "Tighten up the guard in the cellar. Don't let that incident happen again."
"You can rest easy, Boss!"
The driver started driving the car and they came out of the port area to walk along the asphalt road which was quiet and cool. On the right, Livy could see lots of dense trees that went straight to the mountain and on the left there was the sea. From this distance, the main harbor looked small, but large ocean ships still appeared to her eyes.
Inhaling the scent of the sea, she felt a little calm, making her miss the beach sand a little.
It had been a long time since she'd gone on vacation to such a place, maybe next time she could take Arthur along to play on the beach with Sarah too. At least she would wait for Arthur's eyes to heal completely and she would take him anywhere she wanted.
"Sir, where are we going?" the driver asked from the front.
Arthur replied without hesitation, "Straight to Livy's dorm."
This tone, Livy felt an inexplicable chill. For some reason she felt that Arthur seemed to be suddenly irritated. When she glanced at him, he showed a very cold expression on his face.
'What else? Is he mad at me or something?'
It's hard to guess Arthur's expression, sometimes it makes her feel uncomfortable. She sometimes thought that he would be mad at her if he showed this expression, but she had no idea what wrong she was doing.
What was it about last night's party that Arthur was finally mad at now?
Livy ventured to say, "I ... sorry about last night, if you feel upset, you can scold me."
Hearing these words, Arthur widened his eyes slightly. "Why are you apologizing? I'm not mad at you."
Somewhat hesitant, Livy looked up. "You really aren't mad?"
Sure enough, when she saw his expression again, his tense face had turned into one of confusion. This way, he looks friendlier. She was nervous. Her clenched fists slowly opened.
"Judging from my attitude, do I look mad at you?"
Livy didn't answer.
Arthur took a deep breath, pulling her head against his shoulder to lean on. "I don't know why you think that way, but I was never mad at you. Never."
Never ...
True, Arthur was never angry with Livy, on the contrary he would reprimand her if he had any dissatisfaction. Usually he just tells her not to do something he doesn't like, other than that he won't really get mad.
However, to be honest, her negative thoughts also stem from her suspicions.
There are too many things that she doesn't seem to know about Arthur, so she always ends up thinking the wrong thing.
Livy remembered something. "Didn't I bite you? Did it hurt?"
Arthur frowned.
Livy pulled her head and opened Arthur's sleeve, not sure where she had bitten him and she checked everywhere. There appeared to be a visible mark on the right arm.
"A naughty cat bit me, but it didn't hurt at all." Arthur smiled.
It turned out that the bite was almost gone, not even blood or bruises remained. "This cat is so cute, right? Do you like it?"
"Love it."
"Strange! You really like this cat, but you will take its away from you!"
Arthur knew that his little wife was feeling a little annoyed and ruffled her hair. "Did you maybe not want to go back to the dorm?"
She. Don't. Want.
"I'm talking about cat."
"Yes, but the cat I'm referring to is the kind that I'm not allergic to. It's so cute and adorable. Especially when its drunk." Arthur teases her on purpose.
Damn! If she kept being reminded about that party again, she would really go crazy.
Seeing Livy worried, Arthur said, "In the future, you can't get drunk anymore."
Of course, she won't get drunk. Is she crazy to expose how embarrassing she is when she's drunk?!
No, Livy is even very allergic to alcohol now.
Livy let go of Arthur's arms and crossed her own arms. "Fine. But you also have to promise me, don't let Evander use underhanded methods to frame me again."
Arthur thought for a moment before replying, "I'll give him a punishment."
On the other hand, miles away, Evander suddenly sneezed. His glasses slipped down, he slightly shivered.
"Mr. Zamiel, are you sick?" asked one of the employees in the office who brought the work file.
"I had a party in the mountains last night, it was freaking cold there. I was apparently sick and needed some time off."
Evander shifted in his chair, feeling uneasy.
... to be continued ...
