Looking for the little wife
"Livy disappeared?" Matthew who received this news from his informant was somewhat surprised.
"That's right, sir. She disappeared since this afternoon and has not been found."
Even though Matthew had expected something to happen, he didn't expect it to be this fast. Luckily he only needed to light a small fire with a lighter, the gasoline would have doused in the small fire and it had now grown bigger. He actually found it funny that Livy would get triggered by a game he made.
"How did it start? Tell me." He asked enthusiastically.
The informant is a spy sent by him to sneak into Arthur's house, until he finally manages to become one of the bodyguards overseeing daily activities. This one spy is very slick and shrewd, he really likes his intelligence.
It's only been a few weeks since the spy came in. He already feels like he has a lot of Arthur's secrets.
In the end, the spy told everything; how Livy met Gwen today and left in a bad mood immediately after the meeting. Then she didn't return home, but went to the dormitory, then to her campus yard to sit until it started to rain.
The spy added that he deliberately distracted Livy's bodyguard. So when she left university and where she was going, only he knew.
"Then where did she go?"
"She went to a hotel quite far from the university, and seems to be preparing herself to go far away tomorrow."
This answer really did not expect him at all.
"Going far away? Where?"
"She booked tickets for the fastest train for tomorrow, the destination is Mr. Finnegan's hometown many years ago."
Matthew laughed lightly. He remembered that Livy had been a neighbor of the Finnegans in the past before they moved in.
"Then don't let them find her, do everything you can to prevent them. I might still be able to instigate her a little more."
Matthew tapped on his phone. Looked like he has a great idea now and he couldn't wait to get to it. Then he hung up the phone with satisfaction.
"Brother, you want to go overseas for surgery, right? See if you can go if sister-in-law isn't with you." Matthew grinned, he laughed loudly in the room alone.

In her dormitory, Sarah didn't know why she has an uninvited guest in the pouring rain outside. Without further ado, they even asked about Livy's whereabouts, apparently not tolerating any answer.
"I really don't know where she is. Why should I lie? Why did I hide her? If something happened to her wouldn't you guys—"
Evander slapped the table causing Sarah's defense to cease.
"Where's Livy?"
Sarah's eyes moved restlessly. This question had already left the man's lips three times, but each time it came out, the tone used pressed even more on her soul inside. She was terrified.
Usually she considers a man named Evander to be quiet and mysterious. But the quiet man now looked serious and scary. She had met him several times, this was the first time she had seen him without his glasses on and his hair a bit messy.
Lightning flashed outside and caused flashes to flash from the windows for a moment. This made the atmosphere even less better.
Why was this like in the movies she watched?
Like when criminals raid a house to kill the host, or when a kidnapped person faces a tense situation between life and death!
No, no! This was not the time for her to be thinking about this kind of thing. Livy is missing! She must find her!
The table slammed again and her heart almost jumped out of shock.
"S-Sir, I don't know where Livy is? What exactly happened to her? Where has she gone?" Sarah answered nervously and panicked.
Evander let out a rough breath and sat down at the table. "Did you meet her today at uni?"
"No. We're both off starting today. What's she going to campus for?"
Evander's head turned in the direction where Arthur was, seeing him also surprised. He remembered Arthur saying that Livy went to university to check her exam results.
"Then, did she have time to contact you today?" asked Evander again.
Sarah shook her head.
Evander noticed this girl's expression, and he didn't think there was a hint of deceit in her eyes. Slightly disappointed, he stood up, without even looking at Sarah he approached Arthur and whispered to him.
"Let's go."
Arthur had made his way to the door first, and before Evander could leave, Sarah took his hand.
"W-Wait! You haven't told me anything. Exactly what happened to Livy? Where did she go?" she asked.
Evander's eyes stared in astonishment at his tightly gripped wrist, then glanced at the young girl's face. With a gesture, he pointed his hand with his chin.
Sarah immediately released his hand quickly.
"Livy is missing," Evander said finally, unbuttoning his shirt sleeve. "If you could please contact her close friends. Or who she met at uni today."
Evander's gaze was cold and sharp, making Sarah look down nervously. "But class is off today, are you sure she's going to uni?"
"That's what I want to know too. Did she really come or was she just lying to Arthur."
Sarah gulped.
Before she could answer again, Evander turned around without waiting for her to speak and she didn't dare to stop him anymore.
Outside the dorm, Evander saw Arthur on the phone and approached him. By that time he had finished the call and his expression was getting unkind.
"Who called?"
"Livy can no longer be traced. Her simcard is really damaged." Arthur clenched his cold fists.
Evander opened his black umbrella. "Get in the car first. We'll go look for her again."
In the end, one night in the pouring rain passed without any promising information. Everyone who was deployed was going to and fro in vain. Since it didn't stop working all night long, everyone must be tired. So did Evander.
As for another matter, Evander even asked someone to report what Matthew was doing today, because Arthur had suspected that Matthew was involved. But his errand boy reported that Matthew had been at home all day, he had only gone to play in one of the bars. The owner of the bar even confirmed that he was drunk and picked up by the driver in the wee hours of the morning.
This made Arthur's suspicion of Matthew shake a little.
The day after the rain, always leaves wet marks on the ground and leaves, after which the cold air welcomes. Evander took the warm coffee that the maid provided and approached Arthur.
"You rest for a bit, if there is any news regarding Livy, I will let you know." Evander handed over the coffee.
Arthur ignored him.
"Do you know any possible places for Livy to visit?" Evander put the coffee he was holding onto the table.
Asked a question like this, Arthur fell silent. Where is she going to visit? Where? Eventually he realized he couldn't think of a possible place. He was slapped with the hard fact that he didn't know much about her.
He massaged the bridge of his nose wearily. "She has no relatives or friends apart from Sarah."
And her aunt is left. Even if she does run away from him, is it possible that she will come to her aunt? It is impossible.
"What about the place she worked before? She worked part-time at several places, didn't she?"
Arthur immediately looked up at this question, he seemed to remember something. Without answering Evander, he immediately contacted someone.

The next morning, Livy left to wait for the bus terminal that would take her to the train station. She had booked the fastest train ticket back to her mother's residence. Even though her old house had long been sold and may have changed ownership, Livy didn't care, she just wanted to go there to have a look and cool off.
After a short breakfast, she went to the counter and checked the bus departure. She saw where the previous taxi that had dropped her off had gone towards the exit gate of the terminal and sighed. She was feeling a bit tired today and had a headache, at breakfast she even threw up her food again.
Great. Hard day and she had to fall ill.
Livy tightened the hoodie she was wearing, covering part of her hair, her body shivering slightly. She chose to leave here because she did not know where she should stay. Even though she had Sarah, she also couldn't ask for her help. If Livy was Arthur, she would have gone to Sarah to inquire about her whereabouts. So, Sarah is not the best choice to ask for help at this time.
Then where will she go?
Livy thought about this the whole way, until she finally thought of visiting her parents' graves.
The announcement from the speaker shouted the departure of the bus from the parking lot, and the voice echoed with the car engines and the bustling terminal. Livy immediately gasped and stood up. Feeling that no one is watching her now, she got into one of the buses, and took a seat at the very end. Tighten the hoodie and mask again.
"Miss, does this bus go through Terminal 13?"
Livy looked at a foreign middle-aged woman who suddenly sat in the empty seat next to her.
Terminal 13 is the last terminal for other bus destinations that have a different direction from the current bus. It usually takes three hours to get there and this bus is almost gone because it's full. Livy immediately shook her head.
"Ma'am, you got the wrong bus."
The woman looked worried. "Then which bus should I take?"
Livy stared at the woman who looked confused and seemed to really not know the direction she was headed. So Livy removed her mask and looked out the window to see the bus that was supposed to be going to Terminal 13.
"See that bus? It's got blue trim in the middle. That bus will take you there." Livy pointed towards one of the buses.
From her position, the woman could not see. "Which one?"
Livy patiently pointed at the bus again, but without her realizing it, a handkerchief suddenly covered her mouth and nose tightly. Before she could break away, she smelled a sweet scent on her nose and widened her eyes.
'What the ...? What happened?'
She was in the very back seat, no one could see her because she was at the very end. No matter how hard she kicks her legs, it's all in vain. Too long inhale the scent, slowly her head began to dizzy. The world began to spin uncontrollably before her eyes.
And she lost consciousness.

"Arthur, I made sure that Livy was seen arriving at one of the bus terminals." Evander reported.
Arthur put his phone down. "When?"
Evander was silent for a moment before replying, "It was nine past five this morning, before she got on the bus that had a destination for the train station. She booked tickets to the place you mentioned."
Her parents' old house. Right.
Livy really went there! Maybe she wants to visit her parents' graves.
By now it was an hour past lunch time, meaning she left five hours ago.
"Is she at the cemetery now?"
There was a short sigh. "I've sent someone there, but there's no one. The cemetery has no surveillance cameras."
Arthur immediately became concerned.
"What about Dave?"
"Should be there by now. I'll call him."
"No need. Lemme contact him."
At that moment Arthur called Dave's phone in a hurry. Every second he felt his anxiety was increasing, but at least there was a bit of light from Livy's departure.
"Hello, Boss. I just arrived." Dave was out of breath.
"How?"
"The house is still there, but I can't find sister-in-law. This house has changed ownership. The bodyguard who tried to ask the owner of the house said that no guests have come since yesterday. The owner of the house was at home all day and didn't see anything strange either."
This made Arthur sigh softly.
Livy didn't come to the cemetery, nor to her old house, even though she took the bus to go there. Then where did she go? Does she have other relatives?
Impossible. Arthur knew all about Livy's background and family, there are no other relatives around.
Where else is she likely to go?
By evening, they still had not found any other clues. Everyone in charge of this search was getting tired from going from one place to another with nothing.
"Boss, the tickets have been booked, you go first tomorrow. And I will look for sister-in-law again, I will contact you if I find her." Dave had the nerve to say this, but even if this thing happened to him, he also wouldn't be going abroad while his wife had not been found.
However, making an appointment with a specialist in Germany is not easy. If they canceled the surgery suddenly, in the future those doctors would no longer be able to trust him.
Dave was also in a difficult position.
"I agree with Dave," Evander said.
"I told you to postpone my departure for a few more weeks." Arthur stared ahead blankly.
Evander and Dave exchanged glances, and then Dave became irritated. "Boss, you can't be like this. Promises made can't be broken easily. They won't trust me anymore."
"Then find another place," Arthur replied flatly.
Dave slammed his motorbike keys on the table in annoyance. Didn't want to argue.
On the other hand, Evander understood that Arthur doesn't want to go. Since the beginning, he agreed to do the surgery because Livy managed to persuade him, now that her whereabouts are unclear, Arthur doesn't want to do the surgery anymore.
"It's late. Everyone is tired. You two get some rest first." Evander mediated between the two. "Arthur, you can think about it again, this surgery is important to you. I hope you arrive at a good decision tomorrow morning."
"..."
"And about Livy, let me try to find her tonight."
Arthur stood up. "I'll look for her."
Both Evander and Dave stood in surprise.
"Don't stop me." Arthur said firmly. He left both of them. He should at least make one last attempt, before the day ends.
... to be continued ...
