Quarrel
Livy felt an intense headache as soon as she opened her eyes. At first she couldn't process what was happening or where she was until she heard voices all around her. She tried to look ahead, but her eyes weren't completely clear yet.
"Mrs, you've finally awake." A woman's voice finally became clear.
Once again Livy tried to look ahead. Two women who were wearing the same light blue uniform and hat, smiled at her.
"You ..."
"Drink this first," said one of them, helping her get up and drink.
After drinking, her throat became clearer and she could see them more clearly.
"You are in the hospital now. Do you remember what happened?" the woman asked kindly.
Livy shook her head.
"Someone found you passed out on the bus and brought you here. Luckily the baby in your womb is fine. No need to worry."
"W-What? The ... what?" Livy was confused.
Perhaps because she had just woken up, she still couldn't comprehend what they meant and she was even more confused.
"The baby. You're pregnant and you're one month pregnant. Did you just find out, Mrs?"
"..." The baby? One month pregnant?
"Doctor wants to do a complete examination of your body and the procedure requires approval from the family." The nurse continued, "I didn't find your ID card with you. So do you remember the number of any of your relatives?"
Livy didn't fully hear what the nurse said. Her heart skipped a beat hearing that she was pregnant. Her hand instinctively touched her flat stomach. She's pregnant? Did it really mean she was pregnant and there was a baby in her tummy?
"Mrs?" The nurse called.
Livy looked at the nurse. "T-This, a-are you serious? I ... I-I'm pregnant? I'm actually pregnant? You mean there's a b-baby in my t-tummy?"
The nurse smiled. "Yes. The test results stated that you were positively pregnant. Even though you inhaled this strong chloroform, luckily it didn't affect your fetus. But for now you are advised to rest completely."
Chloroform?
After a while, she finally remembered what happened. Someone suddenly smothered her with a handkerchief spiked with sweet scent while she was on the bus. It was an unknown woman.
But who is she?
"May I know your name?"
"Uh, I'm ... Livy Hayes."
"Fine, Mrs. Hayes. We need the family's signature for the examination papers, can I have your husband's contact number please?" The nurse prepared paper and pen.
Hearing the word 'husband', her heart throbbed again. She had almost forgotten this, that she still had Arthur. The news of her pregnancy should be heartening news, will Arthur be happy? Does he want this child?
After all in their heated situation, she didn't want to see Arthur right now, was there anyone else she could call?
After going through some hard thinking she finally just gave Sarah's number.
"May I know what date it is today?" she asked.
"The fifth." The nurse answered kindly. "Anything else you need? Do you have any nausea or discomfort in your stomach?"
Livy quickly shook her head.
"Okay, I'll call your family first. You get some rest. Lunch will be here in a bit."
After the nurse briefly checked her IV and withdrew, Livy immediately remembered the date Arthur left the country. Shouldn't it be on the fifth?
What about him now? Has he left already? What's more, did he already know that she was pregnant?

Soon Arthur got the news that on the day Livy left, she had met Gwen. The speculation in his head was now increasing. Before they split up, he and Livy get into a fight, only when she left, she didn't come right back. Since she'd met Gwen, he guessed they must be talking about something.
"Don't you know that they met?" Evander was tired of all this, wanting to drag Arthur away immediately, but he was also curious.
"Don't fvcking care. Never mind that!" Dave who answered, looked irritated.
Arthur asked someone to check on Gwen's activities first, he couldn't be careless to meet her in person.
"I don't know," Arthur said holding his phone, waiting to hear back. Deliberately ignoring Dave.
"Boss, no matter what, you must still leave today. Tickets cannot be cancelled!" Dave pounded the table. "I told you let me take care of sister-in-law, you go quietly. If she is found, I will bring her directly to meet you. Are we clear? Don't force me to do anything to drag you away!"
Dave always gets underhanded when Arthur is stubborn, so Arthur finally answered him, "I can't go without her. I have to make sure she's okay."
"I'm sure she is fine." Evander straightened up, tapped the pack of cigarettes. "I think today we will find her."
"How sure are you?" Dave snorted.
"100 percent."
"Fine. Since Evan is so sure, then I have to drag you right away, Boss. You forced me." Dave got up, tensed his arms and neck, and approached Arthur.
Arthur automatically stepped back, but Dave didn't give in to come closer, so Arthur immediately kicked him down.
"Shit! The dying man's kick could still be this powerful."
Arthur was very upset and ignored him. At the same time, his phone rang, he immediately answered while watching Dave's movements. The words of a bodyguard on the other side immediately shocked him.
"I will be there." Arthur hung up, grabbing his jacket hastily.
This made Evander move. "What's wrong?"
Arthur didn't answer because he had already run outside. Dave ruffled his hair. "I don't know! Let's follow him!"

"Livy!" Sarah opened the door of Livy's ward in a panic, and ran inside. She scanned Livy's body from top to bottom. "What happened? Someone from the hospital called me saying you were here. Are you hurt?"
Seeing how Sarah was panicking, she must not have heard a full explanation and left immediately. Her hair was even messy.
"Sorry, for bothering you with something like this."
"Nonsense," Sarah answered half angrily. "You scared me. Tell me, what happened?"
Livy's eyes moved right and left, choosing the right answer. "Looks like I was robbed."
"Robbed? Then are you hurt?"
"I'm not hurt at all. But my phone and wallet are gone."
"Do you know the robber's face? We have to go to the police."
Livy stopped her. "Wait. No need to call the police. There's nothing important in the wallet except an ID card and some money. I don't have much with me."
If this is really a robbery, Livy really regrets that the middle-aged woman actually did it. But when people are in financial trouble, when their common sense dies, they can do anything. She secretly felt sorry. The woman looked not much different from her mother's age. She didn't want to prolong the problem.
"Then you were taken to the hospital means you're injured, right?" Sarah is still after her.
"I was exhausted and passed out on the bus."
Sarah stared at her in disbelief. Livy tried to avoid Sarah's gaze as best she could, but because Sarah was here at this moment, her heart sank again and the tears she'd been holding back fell again.
Sarah was shocked to see Livy cry, she approached Livy and hugged her by the shoulders. "Hey. It's okay. You're safe with me. It's okay if you don't want to tell me, okay. Don't cry. I'm here."
This hug made Livy cry even more. "I-I ...."
"Shhh." Sarah stroked her hair. "Now, now, it's okay. I will accompany you."
Livy felt that she had been holding back her tears for so long, once she started crying, she couldn't stop at all. Now her nose hurts. She didn't want to be here, but the baby needed rest. She's pregnant now. At least the baby is innocent.
The doctor said that the chloroform used was quite strong, so that she would feel fatigue for a few days, which made her womb weak. So the doctor advised her to take complete bed rest in the hospital and she could only agree.
But on the other hand she couldn't stand to linger here, sooner or later Arthur would find her.
"Then you rest first. I'm going to see the nurse to ask a few things." Sarah smiled gently at her.
As Sarah was about to leave, Livy took her hand and she looked at her with a face filled with tears.
"I won't be long. I'll take care of the hospital administration. Just give me fifteen minutes."
Sarah had not gone two steps and Livy held her again.
"Livy—"
"Sarah," Livy cut her off quicker, "I'm pregnant."

Arthur's bodyguards reported what he heard on the phone connected to their boss. It just so happened that Arthur had arrived at the hospital in question by driving nearly an hour at full speed. The driver who was driving his car felt his heart almost pop out.
Arthur immediately got down and ran, he bumped into a few people, and immediately slowed down.
Dave and Evander got out of another car and caught up. They don't have time to wonder why they are going to the hospital. It's just that they don't feel good.
Remembering the floor and room numbers the bodyguard had mentioned, Arthur got on the elevator. He moved restlessly as the machine ran up, every second, he felt that this time was burning him alive. He was terrified.
"Livy." He muttered several times.
Just by hearing that Livy was hospitalized, Arthur felt like he almost died on the spot right then and there. Now he understood why Livy was so sad when Arthur was hospitalized and didn't tell her at all.
This feeling of annoyance is so very uncomfortable.
Even after he heard Livy's health information stating that she was pregnant, his blood ran hot. He is full of adrenaline of happiness as well as panic.
Livy is pregnant! She's pregnant with his child! His flesh and blood!
Arriving on the second floor, Arthur looked at the room numbers one by one, trying to squint his eyes to see the numbers clearly. Until he entered the one room in question.
Person who was inside immediately rose up startled as soon as the bedroom door was kicked open. He immediately petrified at the entrance. Right. Livy was indeed there, in a hospital gown, a blanket over her shoulder and an IV. He couldn't see clearly from this distance, but he knew it was his little wife.
Even though he ran like the day was drawing to a close, by the time he got here, his feet were firmly nailed.
After discovering his strength, he approached his wife, who was as surprised as he was. "Livy ..."
Livy looked away. "Why did you come here?"
Arthur tried to touch her, but her movements indicate that she was rejecting him. He remembered that he almost had a heart attack when he heard that Livy had been rushed to the hospital. Even Sarah knew about this and accompanied her here. How come he doesn't know anything? And now Livy even turned him down.
"Are you okay? You hurt somewhere?"
"..."
Arthur sighed. "Tell me, is that true? You ... you're pregnant?"
Livy still didn't answer, the tears that she thought had dried were now flowing again.
"So you already know, huh?"
This time Arthur was silent.
"Oh, of course you know. How could you not know with so many bodyguards stalking me, right?" Livy said sarcasm. "What does this pregnancy have to do with you anyway, huh? Does it matter to you now?"
"Livy, what ..."
"Do not touch me! I don't want to see you. Please go away!" Livy said sharply.
She really wanted Arthur to be here and woo her, but facing him head on made her remember the intimacy between him and Gwen, also how the two had secretly met behind her back. With all that concrete evidence, she couldn't prevent her heart from being stabbed by a sharp wound.
"Are you still mad about the bugs? I'll explain why I use it, I'll explain it all to you." Arthur's voice softened.
Right now the most important thing is getting Livy to his own hospital and keeping her safe. After he found out that someone was trying to hurt her, he was furious. He still didn't know who the culprit was and he couldn't be careless. Especially when he found out that Livy was pregnant, her situation needed extra attention.
"Livy ..."
"No. I don't wanna know anything anymore. I've had enough. So could you please go?"
Arthur had already prepared himself for this rejection, because he already knew what was going on.
"Is it because of Gwen, right?" Arthur stared at her.
Livy looked away, holding tightness in her chest. Sarah was out, she couldn't ask for her help to throw Arthur away. But she didn't want to see him right now.
"I have nothing to do with her, believe me." Arthur said, trying to convince his wife.
Livy shook her head, her tears fell.
"If you want to know what my relationship with her is, I'll take you to meet her. She would make it clear that we are not in any relationship."
Livy froze.
Meet her? She found this funny and she was disappointed.
"Then why did you play behind my back by meeting her several times, Arthur? You did it secretly. If you have nothing to do with her, why are you keeping this a secret?" Livy was panting, she didn't scream, but the emotion that overcame her was draining her strength.
Arthur, "..."
"I know what you did with her, I know everything." Her voice trembled. "Why are you doing this to me? Why did you do such a cruel thing?"
"..."
"You can watch over me, because you think of me as your prisoner, right?"
Her eyes hurt from crying, and every time her tears fell, they felt hot touching her cheeks.
"You don't actually love me. Your words were just to cheer me up." Livy muttered to herself, laughing with tears on her cheeks.
"You You misunderstood.. I—"
Livy raised her hand, preventing him from continuing. "Misunderstood? You love Gwen, you hugged her and asked her to meet you then come back to her. Where's the misunderstanding? You married me because I look like her, anyway."
Arthur didn't understand why Livy could say this. They do look alike, but that's not the reason.
"Livy, listen ..."
"It's you who should listen to me!" Livy finally screamed and her chest hurt because it was hard to breathe. "Since you only loved him, there's nothing to continue. Let's deal with the divorce."
... to be continued ...
