Picnic
After five months of treatment at the hospital, Arthur finally discharged.
After three full days of observation, the doctor allowed him to do outpatient treatment.
Livy, who was staying at the hospital every day just when Evander and Dave returned to their country two months ago, was currently busy packing Arthur's things. After that she ran around taking care of the patient discharge formalities.
Before Evander left, he even hired a personal maid and driver to help Livy while in Germany. Livy felt very helpful for that.
"Let me help you," said Arthur, who had seen his little wife flying around like a bee.
"No. You sit over there."
Arthur obediently watched her talk to the nurse at the drug redemption counter. Secretly guarding her rather not fall, especially at the age of her seventh month of pregnancy.
She walked over to Arthur when she was done. "Lower your head a little."
Arthur lowered his head. A black knit cap was gently looped over his head. After that she finished and smiled. "So handsome."
His hand held the hat, slightly disappointed. "So it's just a hat?"
"What do you think?" Livy adjusted the hat and smiled.
"No."
Arthur just thought he was going to be kissed. This is disappointing!
"Oh. There's one more." Livy took a pair of sunglasses and put them on him too.
His expression was devastated. "Why sunglasses?"
"It's hot outside. It's so dazzling."
"..."
"Let's go."
Livy took the bag at her feet and wrapped her arm around Arthur's arm with the other. At the same time, the nurse came to bring a wheelchair.
"Sit down."
"I don't need a wheelchair," Arthur said.
Livy patiently coaxed him, "The passage is long, you will be exhausted. Remember what the doctor said? You are indeed recovering, but you have to be careful for a few more months."
The nurse holding the wheelchair said in German, "Sir, I'll help push you."
Although the nurse didn't know what they were talking about, she understood Arthur's expression of refusal.
"No thanks. My wife can do that." He deliberately use English as he coldly refused.
Livy grimaced, expressing a word of apology through her demeanor. The nurse was fortunately not offended and immediately let them go. He sat staring straight ahead, saying nothing. Some X-rays and hospital files are in his lap at the moment. Meanwhile, a big bag is on her shoulder.
When he realized that she was having a hard time, he offered, "That bag, let me carry it."
"It's okay. I can."
"That's heavy. Put it here. You don't have to push me."
"But ..."
"Shut up and obey."
Livy was left speechless after Arthur used these words. She was used to it by now and was not offended.
They arrived at the parking lot lobby. Livy put the bag on the floor and locked Arthur's wheelchair. They waited for the driver to drive the car until it was right in front of the lobby. Even she would open the car door just to help him get in slowly, then put on the seatbelt too. Her hands are highly trained.
So, this is what it feels like to be cared for.
In the car, Arthur took off his glasses, his gaze never left Livy's small face. Even though he could only see that face from the side, he was extremely happy, because he could finally see that beauty now. His little wife is not only beautiful, even her skin is smooth and fair. There is a small, almost invisible mole near his nose. Very cute.
He felt he would die to see this forever.
"Did you forget anything?" Livy looked at him in confusion.
"Yeah."
"Oh, what is it?"
Livy didn't get a satisfactory answer because a hand first pushed her head to the side. She suddenly felt a wet sensation as his lips pressed against hers.
"Third kiss of the day," Arthur said innocently.
Now it has really become their routine. Every time they did something each they would kiss the other party and say these nonsense words.
But this crap is so precious to her.
Feeling the kiss wasn't bad, she finally kisses him back, but only on the cheek. Then his finger rubbed the former thin kiss. His gaze is gentle. This momentum is so fitting to do things out of bounds. And she began to think that it was not possible to see that flawless handsome face.
"You've been waiting for this since earlier, right?" Livy averted her eyes as soon as her thoughts ran wild.
"If I knew that being hospitalized would let you take good care of me, I would choose to go to the hospital every time."
"Yeah, and otherwise I will die young from a heart attack every day." Livy answered angrily.
"You're angry?"
"No. Just remembering some bad stuff."
This is honesty.
How time slowed down once Arthur fell into a coma, and after he recovered, it completely unknowingly flew by for nearly five long months. That's quite a long time. But the feeling of her broken heart seeing her husband helpless was still very fresh in her mind.
Both fell silent. The car's engine finally started because a car behind them reminded them to hurry up.
She stared at him. "Even if you're not sick, I'd be willing to take care of you for life. You can't say things like that, even if it's just a joke. Ok?"
"Yes, Your Highness."
Livy snorted.
***
"I'll accompany you." Arthur said firmly.
Livy put on her shoes and said, looking in a hurry. "I was just going to buy lunch and some necessities. It wasn't long."
Arthur still had a face of disapproval.
"When I picked you up at the hospital, didn't you see I was fine going anywhere? I was only seven months pregnant." Livy approached him.
With all his might Arthur was not melted with that pitiful face. While in Germany, they rented an apartment that was not too big. Evander could have bought a house for them, unfortunately there were none near the hospital. There is only this apartment. Also the distance from the apartment to the hospital is not far, so their choice finally fell on this place.
Because this apartment is quite close to the hospital, the location is very strategic, the traffic is very busy during rush hours. He was worried about letting his little wife squeeze herself out in the sea of people shopping at the restaurant. What if someone accidentally pushed her?
"We can order food online. Where's my phone?" he asked.
Livy remembered that Evander wouldn't let her give Arthur the phone if he asked. "I don't know where your phone is."
Arthur immediately knew that she was lying and guessed this must be Evander's doing.
"Then give me your phone."
"But the food I want to buy can't be ordered online," she said.
Arthur sighed and stood up. "Then I'll accompany you. If I'm with you, it's safer. Evan says there's a nice spot around here. We can go too. We can have a picnic."
Picnic? What's with this sudden idea? Great idea at the wrong time.
Livy doesn't mind going on picnics or anything else at all, what's a problem now is that Arthur just got out of the hospital. Is it okay to travel like that?
"T-That's ... if we had a picnic at this hour, it would be really hot." Livy gave reasons to refuse.
"You don't want?"
"Well ..."
Arthur suddenly grabbed her waist before she could react and pulled her forward. She easily fell into his lap who was sitting.
"W-Wait. Wait. I have to get up. My body is heavy." Livy panicked.
But his hands gripped her waist tighter. "Don't move."
"You just got out of the hospital. Why are you so careless? I'll get up, I'll—"
Livy cried as her body leaned forward more and more, unconsciously their chests collided with each other, but it was a bit difficult because of her bloated stomach. She who was panicking before, gradually fell silent, she could hear the loud thumping of her heart in her ears.
Arthur's hand crawled on her back, his cheek pressed against the narrow shoulder.
"Livy ..."
Arthur's voice was heavy and magnetic.
Livy gulped.
"The place Evan recommended has hot springs, beautiful lakes and valleys. You don't want to go there?" said Arthur in a half whisper.
She felt warm breath brushing against her neck, as well as cold hands slowly moving up against her exposed skin. She was then pushed. She was forced to stare at the face in front of her, who was so handsome and seductive.
"Don't you want to go there?"
"But you just—"
"Stop refusing to say the same reason. I have fully recovered. You worry too much. Five months is too long. Can't I recover that long?"
He finally let go of her waist and this opportunity was taken by her to quickly stand up. But her body spun as a great force tugged at her and instead she sat down in the chair he had been sitting on earlier. Meanwhile, he was above her.
This position ...
Livy pursed her lips nervously. "Arthur, you ...you can't do this to suppress me."
"I can."
The next sentence that she would throw out was silenced with a hard kiss. Right. He kissed her hard, not letting her lips go as he chewed them with a bit of force. This man's body was obviously bigger than hers, she felt very oppressed and she was helpless. In the end, only able to follow the game.
In the next four minutes, the kissing didn't stop. Their brains were hot because there was no incoming oxygen supply. But at this time Arthur's ferocious tongue was still stubbornly playing with hers, she also had no intention of stopping him.
It was only when they were both out of breath that the kiss was released. As a result, her pale lips had become swollen and red. Her eyes were full of tears.
Arthur was secretly satisfied.
Seeing his aggressive treatment like this, she seemed to be looking at an unknown man. Although it wasn't bad, but she wasn't used to it.
"W-We can have a picnic today."
Arthur smiled and got up from above Livy, not saying anything.
The next half hour they were ready with the supplies they bought from the online food store. Livy also made several sandwiches with minimal ingredients in the fridge. Then they got into the car. The driver was already there.
Out of habit, Livy opened the door first so Arthur could enter. Arthur frowned at this treatment, displeasure flashing across his eyes. He grabbed the door, closed it again, then reopened the car door and let Livy enter first.
Livy was at a loss for words.
"Come in."
Livy gave up and entered first. She remembered having kept a hat and glasses in her bag, then took them out and put them on him. No matter how her husband protested.
After that, Arthur told the driver the name of the place he was going to, which apparently was a tourist destination. The driver was a native German and during the trip explained that there were many destinations they could visit other than that, he would be more than happy to take them.
Arriving at the lake, they rented a trolley to carry picnic equipment. Near the lake, they saw a wide meadow with willow trees along the way. Some of the fallen yellow willow leaves piled under the tree, as if left on purpose by the janitor. Then at the end of the lake itself, there are tall mountains that cast shadows on the surface of the clear water.
Livy saw some people cycling around the lake. "Is that for rent or can we bring our own?"
"It's rented."
"Oh." Livy nodded. Her eyes flashed when she saw the cyclists and wanted to try it too. But forget it, it must be tiring.
Then she spread out their spring rug and placed all the equipment they had brought on it.
"This place is bustling," said Arthur, taking off his glasses.
"You don't like crowded places, do you?" Livy took the glasses and put them back on him.
"I like."
Then Arthur took them off again and threw the glasses away.
"..." Livy gave up fighting this man.
"Because you're here I really like it." Arthur teased with a wink.
Livy's face immediately turned red and couldn't cover it up. "Have you been here with Evander before?"
"Nah."
"Then how did Evander know a place as good as this? Did he just see it on the internet?"
Arthur watched her pouty lips and found it funny. "Maybe Evan has been here before. He often goes abroad when he's bored."
Livy sighed. "Rich people are annoying."
Not wanting to think about it, she took the sandwich she made and gave it to him along with warm soy milk. She stabbed the straw first in the plastic cup.
"I was wondering this one thing. So Evander isn't really your assistant, is he?"
"He is," Arthur answered.
"Isn't he a rich man? Why is he an assistant? He doesn't have to inherit the company or something? Like in dramas?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Just curious."
Arthur saw the crumbs in the corners of Livy's lips and used a finger to brush them away. "You eat so messy."
Livy looked down in embarrassment.
"So how? Was that a question I shouldn't have asked?" She asked still curious.
"You don't need to bring that up. You can ask if Evan is here."
Seeing that Arthur was so reluctant, it seemed that this wasn't something that Livy was allowed to know—or maybe he was reluctant because he didn't like her talking about other people.
She asked another question, "Then what about Dave?"
Arthur just opened his mouth to take another bite, but stopped when he hears this again.
"Why do you want to know about Dante too?"
Arthur's voice was very calm, but somehow Livy could feel a hint of dislike.
She deliberately continued, "They are very good to me, am I really not allowed to know about them?"
"No."
This answer was unexpected.
"Why?"
Arthur's dark eyes stared into hers. That gaze was full of strong intimidation and being oppressive, she felt helpless. Arthur, when the color in his eyes was there, he truly had a glare that could kill.
But then those sharp eyes softened, followed by a tone full of ultimatum, "Because you are not allowed to talk about other men in in front of me."
With that, he stole a kiss on her lips.
She was dazed for a moment before blushing. Then realized that her guess was right; that Arthur doesn't like her discussing other people.
"B-But they are your close friends. Is it still not allowed?"
"No."
'Evander, Dave, you should know how mean he is to you guys.'
Livy laughed clumsily inside her heart.
She had secretly thought of ways to discuss other men in his presence the next time, only to see his jealousy. She felt this kind of life was what she needed with him, no problems, no burdens.
... to be continued ...
