What is his father doing?
After the big party that night, the quiet days that everyone had been longing for finally arrived. One week passed just like that with a warm and harmonious atmosphere in Arthur and Livy's new house. Now it's time for them to get to their respective routines.
"Remember my message; don't work too hard. At least don't strain your eyes too much. You just recovered, right?"
Livy spoke as she walked around preparing Arthur's work shoes and bag. There was a comb hanging from her matted hair, and an apron over her body.
Since there were no maids, the house was so quiet, and she was so busy taking care of everything. At Camile's house back then, she was used to doing this kind of bustle, so she didn't mind.
"The bread is ready." Arthur told her.
Livy turned to the table and saw the bread being cooked in the toaster. "Ah."
Arthur shook his head, got up from the chair to approach her and took the comb in her hair.
"I told you I could do it myself. You can get ready to rest now." He combed his wife's hair slowly. "Aren't you tired from last night's activities?"
The activity Arthur was referring to was doing 'that'.
Hearing this question slide on his lips, she blushed.
Putting the omelet on her bread, she replied, "I-I'm not tired. I want to serve you anyway, so this is what I'm doing. I'm happy to do it."
Livy turned around and showed her stiff smile.
This stiff smile was strangely sweet in Arthur's eyes, and so sensual. He lightly put down the comb and pulled Livy's small waist closer until she was startled. They stared at each other, with their hearts pounding against each other, they cut the distance bit by bit at a slow tempo, before finally closing their eyes and their lips intertwined.
They kissed.
The kiss they had this time was deep and wet. During that struggle, she instinctively put her hands on his neck, tasted the hot tongue that sometimes felt like a thirst quencher, immediately lulled her. It's wet, it's also delicious. At that moment, Arthur lifted the small waist, so that Livy's entire buttocks landed on the dining table. Still deepening the kiss, his hand slowly removed the contents of the table, his other hand entered between her clothes. The owner groaned. When the saliva splashing in the air started to get intense, the oxygen inside their heads was exhausted, both of them felt dizzy.
Finally, they broke away panting.
Livy's face, which was chaotic and blushed like this, was always very beautiful in Arthur's eyes.
"You may serve me, but you also have to think about yourself. Come on, sit down," Arthur suddenly carried his little wife from the table.
Livy immediately hugged his neck in shock.
She sat down at the messy dining table, she saw the jam jar had been rolled upside down on the table and the bread knife had been pushed into a corner. She took the jam and knife with an embarrassed face, it must have been Arthur who pushed them away when she came up to the table.
When the two eat together, Arthur actually has no appetite. He just looked at Livy who was munching on her bread with a smile and was actually enjoying that pretty smile for himself. He felt he had to keep that smile going, on the other hand, still thinking about what he discussed with Evander.
Arthur finally gave another bodyguards to keep Livy secretly. During that time, he did not find anything strange and suspicious.
What's wrong with that? Did Matthew really go and disappear?
If that's the case, that's great, but he was still uneasy that the whereabouts of Matthew and his stepmother are still unknown. Because of this, he thought it might be better to go see his father and find out a bit what was really going on.
But come to think of it, didn't he want nothing to do with his father anymore?
"Arthur?"
Arthur gasped.
"I called you several times, you didn't answer. Anything on your mind?" asked Livy worriedly.
"Nope."
Arthur wiped his mouth, left half of the bread on the counter and stood up. He grabbed a coat and put it on. At that time he saw Livy standing too, this time her hair was neatly combed.
"I'll go now," said Arthur, walking ahead of Livy to the front, grabbing the car keys in the glass cabinet.
Hearing this, Livy was confused. "Wait. Are you going to drive the car? Isn't there a driver today? Don't drive yourself."
Livy had never seen Arthur drive a car, so she thought he must have forgotten how. Moreover, his eyes had just recovered, she was afraid that unwanted things would happen.
Arthur's steps stopped, so that she bumped into his back. He turned around and said, "I'm fine, if that's what you're worried about."
More or less, he knew what his little wife had in mind.
"Um, okay."
Even though Livy said so, she still had doubts in her heart. She walked Arthur to the front door and stared at him uncomfortably.
"Does stepping on the gas pedal require strength?" She asked when Arthur opened the car door.
Arthur was confused by this question and only answered with a short 'yes'.
"Then it would be great if you started driving cars again."
Arthur still didn't understand, his forehead furrowed deeply without commenting. Unknowingly, she actually wanted something so simple, seeing him driving really well and the two of them in the car, the atmosphere must be fun.
Arthur leaned forward, kissing Livy's cheek gently. "I'll tell you when I get there."
Livy smiled because of the short kiss. Her husband is really very sweet.
"Be careful on the road," Livy's gaze lingered on Arthur's dark car door, unable to see inside when he got in.
As soon as the car left, she finally entered her house back. When she suddenly felt someone watching her, she looked back briefly and saw no one. Strange. Why does this feel like when Arthur's bodyguards are around the house watching her? But that was impossible now, because she didn't have bodyguards anymore.
Is it just the feeling?

Arthur didn't actually go to the office to work. Everything he said to Livy was just an excuse. He actually intended to secretly investigate the matter of his father's company and he had already called Evander to help him.
They met right in the building of his father's large company which was currently full of demonstrators, most of whom were employees of the company itself. Evander said that those demonstrating were asking for their rights which had not been paid four months ago.
Even seeing the big dirty building pelted with trash and eggs, as well as the scrawled graffiti on the walls and glass, Arthur knew a lot of things have happened.
Arthur did hear that this big office had been demonstrating since two days ago. Reportedly, employees are forced to work hard to deal with problems, they continue to work overtime without proper pay. Their bosses only promise to pay their salaries. At first they were still able to hold on, but it seemed their patience had reached its limit.
"Is my father coming?"
Evander, who had just entered the car, shook his head. "Two days ago, the main house was confiscated by the bank. Your father left there shortly after."
"Where to?" Arthur frowned. He thought about where his father might have gone, but he couldn't come up with an answer.
His mother used to have many siblings, but his father was the only child of his grandfather and his grandfather's family was not very close to his father. He doubted that his father will go there.
Without saying anything, Evander just stared at the calm Arthur and slowly handed him the photos.
"..." Arthur saw his father's face in the photos and it was in a familiar place in his memory.
"He seems to have come here a few times since last week. I haven't told you because I wanted to prove it in person first."
Arthur gritted his teeth. "What did he do?"
"Just sit and be still." Evander answered cautiously, glancing at Arthur's expression before continuing, "The guard investigated the guard of the cemetery, and the guard said that your father also came several times in these five months."
Arthur didn't look at the photos anymore. Why? Why did his father come to his mother's grave? His father had not thought the grave existed since the emergence of fake DNA suggesting that Arthur was not his son. That was dozens of years ago. Even when his mother was still alive.
Why?
Why is his father there now?
"The guard reports that he has been seen in that place since yesterday and he was still there this morning." Evander didn't really want to say this, but he finally did.
Because he didn't get any answer from Arthur, he took the photos Arthur had neglected and put them in a paper bag.
Then he asked, "Are you going there?"
***
At that time, without any words coming out of Arthur's lips, Evander already knew the answer when Arthur immediately drove the car to the place in the photos.
His mother's grave.
When they got there, Arthur stopped his car right at a place far from the cemetery area. He didn't do anything, just kept quiet while squeezing the steering wheel. But his jaw seemed to harden. Evander didn't say anything either, he watched as a guard he ordered was hiding in a certain place and was sure that what the guard reported was true.
While they were silent like that, suddenly there was a small commotion in the cemetery.
Someone ran out of the cemetery gate in a panic, as if asking for help. Both Arthur and Evander sharpened their eyes and wanted to know what was going on. Even the bodyguards who had only intended to watch over, finally approached that person.
Since Arthur was in the car, he had no idea what they were talking about.
"Hey, you!" Evander opened the glass and called out.
The bodyguard who was still hiding turned his head and was startled. "Second Boss ..."
"Is Luther still there?"
"Still there, sir. He hasn't looked out since yesterday. He even brought a big suitcase with him," the bodyguard replied.
It was still early at the cemetery, there shouldn't be many people there. Evander said again, "Look what's going on inside."
Before the bodyguard left, another bodyguard who had previously gone to check on the situation, had returned in a hurry. He looked freaked out.
"What's wrong? Something happened?" Evander asked feeling uncomfortable. He then glanced at Arthur who felt the same way.
"Boss, you happen to be here. That ... that person ... he tried to kill himself."
"That person? Who is that person?!" asked Evander impatiently.
"The one we're watching; Mr. Finnegan. He ... he's bleeding because he cut his own wrist. The guard told me."
Both Evander and Arthur were shocked.
Before Evander could think of anything, the door beside him opened. He turned and saw that Arthur had run out. Evander tried to call him, but the man kept running towards the cemetery. He had no other choice but to go out and chase after him.
“You two, come with me too!”
... to be continued ...
