A deal
“We didn't invite you here,” Shania said coldly, avoiding Christian's gaze. Danny left his chair when Christian walked around the desk and occupied the chair.
“This is my building, you are my employee,” Christian said with a grin and shifted a little, so he could cross his leg over the other.
“Hey, don't say that…the lady just came to ask for a favor,” Danny said, trying to stop whatever war was about to erupt between Christian and Shania. Both seemed angry enough to pounce on each other
“And she has to go through me…tell me, Ms Shania, what can I do for you?” Christian asked more professionally and waited for her reply. Shania cleared her throat and shifted from side to side and turned her gaze to Christian. He was so full of himself, she hated him more than anything,
“I didn't come here for you, and you are not my boss… Danny is” she said sarcastically, Christian came out of nowhere and caused so much trouble. She could tolerate Danny but not him
“You work here, I'm the boss so if you think I'm going to tolerate disrespect, then dream on,” Christian countered back coldly. His face held anger as he shifted his gaze to Danny
“You know what, I'm done here…,” Shania rose to her feet, grabbed her purse and phone and cat-walked away angrily…talking to Christian was irritating and time-consuming. The man was unbearable. Shania slammed the door shut and left from there. It was best she dealt with other things.
“I'm dealing with your sh*t,” Danny spat out immediately after they were alone. Christian's eyes shone with hate as he glared at Danny talking nonsense
“Just keep up, don't touch what's not yours,” Christian made a low growl that had Danny letting out a sarcastic laugh as he shifted from side to side. Both his hands rested on the desk as he bent down a little,
“Really? Are you that fucked up or do you consider me a toy Ace,” Danny said coldly, slamming his fist on the table? Christian didn't react, but leaned back to the hair and crossed his legs gracefully. His lazy eyes darted around them making Danny even angry
“Ace, for goodness's sake leave me out of your madness. I'm done here and if you want me to open my mouth, then come clean,” Danny remarked disdainfully and sat on the chair angrily, of course, both men knew exactly what they were talking about. Christian didn't argue but went into deep thought while Danny stared at him with rage
“This crap is interfering with our work… you better stop it now or both of us will have losses,” Danny said after a while of silence in the room.
“I know, I need three months,” Christian muttered and looked up at Danny with a serious expression. Danny's eyes widened in shock, he wasn't so pleased to hear him
“I'm not okay, you are insane… I can't do it anymore… I have a business to run…don't drag me into your insane ideas'' Danny said with a tap of fingers on the desk and averted his eyes from Christian.
“Do you happen to remember how I helped you in the past… or have you forgotten… I'm sure you don't want me reminding you of what you owe me?” It was a slap to Danny's face and immediately, his head tilted to look at Christian in disbelief. Christian ignored Danny's glare and rose to his feet, this was between them. He didn't expect Danny to blow it, or else things would get angry
“Ace, I don't think you understand what's at stake,” Danny reminded him in case he forgot what happened the last time he played the game seriously. Christian didn't mind as he grabbed his coat
“Does it matter, your job is simple…distract, obey and act innocent or is it too hard for you,” he already made it clear, and he wasn't willing to go through it again. Danny was troubled as he sat there silently. His eyes fixed on one place
“Pathetic dog,” Danny muttered, having nothing to say, he was hell-damned knowing he owed him a favor. And Christian rubbed it in his face. Christian let out a chuckle and adjusted his coat. Stopped for a while and stared down at Danny
“He-he, so now we are on the same page…get to work champ, I'll see you later…and by the way, I'm inviting you somewhere,” Christian remarked with a smirk and walked past a fuming Danny.
“Son of a b**ch,” Danny muttered disdainfully and sat there thinking to himself. The door opened and closed with a loud bang.
Christian left the building, he didn't even get to where his car was when his phone vibrated. Taking it out of his pockets. He fixed his eyes on the glowing screen and found a message from someone he wasn't expecting…but a smirk appeared on his face as he read through
(“I agree, I'll stay away from Christian…when is our next session”) immediately he read the text, his eyes darkened, and for a while, he was just reading the same message over and over again as if he didn't understand what was written.
He didn't reply right away but took out his other phone and dialed Travis's number. Glancing around the place, Christian strode to his car parked just near the exit, tossed the phone inside answered the one connected to his ear
“Trav, arrange for a trip,” Christian said as soon as she entered the car and settled in the driver's seat. He had a lot to do. A woman to hunt and stop from showing her body to any other man.
On the other hand, he was fighting against time, to save his company from going bankrupt. He only had three months, his father gave him.
