Begum doesn't want to see Sultan

Sultan POV

She fell asleep after drinking the medicine and I cautiously moved her on the bed. I patted her head a little feeling sympathetic with whatever happened to her. It wasn't her mistake at all. I was worried about what had happened else.

I didn't know who was behind all this but my best guess was my stepmother. I didn't know when would she stop plotting against me.

I stood up from there and sat peacefully on the couch. I called someone as I needed some important letters from my chamber to work.

I didn't want to leave her alone so chose to stay with her.

I was just about to open the first letter, I heard the anklet bells and stood up. My sight fell on Zeenat Begum coming inside the chamber. I could see the worries on her face as she entered and looked at me.

"Where is she?" She asked.

I knew she would react like that if she got to know about her.

"She is sleeping on the bed," I said.

She walked and I walked after her.

She looked at her slightly parting the curtains and almost shouted at me.

"What was the need of shifting her to a different chamber?"

"She insisted Zeenat," I said.

"But Rafiq, You know she is not safe here. Ammijaan doesn't like her. You know she doesn't want you to get settle. You have to keep her safe and alive." She said showing concern in her eyes.

"I know Zeenat. That's why I am taking care of her by myself." I said.

"Be serious Sultan, My delivery is close and you know if I give birth to a boy Ammijaan won't let her stay alive. She is the one you got married for the god sake. You have to love her and you have to make her Queen. Why don't you get this simple thing." She said.

"Zeenat, I know everything and I don't have any problem in giving all this kingdom to your baby. And you know this is our baby. So, someday he will become the real king." I said.

"Real King? You know he will never be a legitimate real king. Only you and your seed will be the legitimate king." She replied.

"He will become the next King for sure. I won't be making any babies with her" I said and almost finished the conversation.

Suddenly I felt some movement on the bed and we both looked at Begum.

"Are you okay?" Zeenat asked sitting beside her.

She straightened and I said.

"Careful"

She looked at me and gave some flat expressions and nodded.

"I am good Zeenat Begum but why did you take the harm of coming here. You should have called me." She said.

"No, I heard about you and came running here. You have to extra careful here" Zeenat said to her.

She nodded her head and replied.

"Ji Begum Sahiba... How are you by the way?" She asked.

"I am good," She said, stood up, and continued. "And you learn to be a powerful girl. You have to be queen someday."

I looked at Gulaab who thinned her eyebrows and looked at her.

"I need to go now," She said and diverted her gaze to me.

"And you take good care of her Sultan," She said.

"I am trying my best, Zeenat," I said and smiled.

She smiled and walked away from there. I didn't know what to do. I was happy claiming her child mine but she might be planning something else.

Suddenly my attention was caught by Begum as she was trying to stand up from the bed.

"where are you going?" I asked and was about to hold her hand.

She weirdly signaled me to stay away and said "No thank you!"

What? What the hell?

"But, you can ask me. I am here to help." I said.

She walked towards the couch and was trying to fill the glass of water from a jar.

"You will hurt yourself. Please let me do" I asked slightly angry taking a jar from her hand.

"I can do it by myself," She said irritatingly.

What the hell happened to her suddenly. Ignoring her for a moment, I filled the glass for her and gave it to her.

She held the glass in disgust and sat on the couch. She drunk the water and chose to stay silent.

I felt as if something changed in her instantly. I didn't know but everything seemed before she slept and suddenly arrogance and anger.

"Are you okay?" I asked her and she didn't reply.

I sat beside her and she diverted her painful gaze to me.

"You should go from here," She said.

"What?" I asked as I couldn't believe my ears.

"What happened suddenly. Did I do something?" I asked looking at her with concern.

"No" She replied instantly and lowered her gaze. I was deeply looking at her as she inhaled a breathe and again looked at me.

"Sultan, Please listen to me carefully" She requested looking into my eyes.

"Okay," I said.

"Why are you taking care of me?" She asked.

"Because you are injured" I replied.

"Nagma is also injured. Are you staying with her and helping her too?' She asked.

"What a stupid question? Why would I stay with her. She can take care of herself." I replied.

She inhaled another breathe and my sight was fixed on her face.

"I can take care of myself too. Why are you staying with me? We decided not to see each other and you know it's just not working." She said little irritatingly.

"I am not getting you. What is not working? We decided that we will not get attracted to each other and we will not do anything. Right? I am just taking care of you." I said.

"But there is no need of taking care of me. I am not a baby. There are thousands of people there to help me. I don't need you around me." She said looking away.

"And this is the best thing for us. You just go away from here" She continued looking at the other side and this attitude of her ignited the anger in me.

"There are thousands of people to kill you there too," I said in a harsh tone and she stood up from the couch.

"I don't understand, why do you even want me to keep alive. Why do you even interested in me? There is no point in talking between, there is no point in meeting each other. We are enemies and You and I know that you can kill me to get Hind and I also won't hesitate in killing you to protect my continent." She said and I stood up from the couch.

I wasn't understanding why she started all of this again. What did she want?

"I want you to keep alive because I married you," I said.

She laughed.

"Hahaha, yeah, I know what Marriage. It is not a marriage, it's what you got against your foolish plan." She hit the last nerve of patience in me and I replied.

"That was not a foolish plan. I would be the King of your Empire by now. And I know very well who ruined all this. But I wonder, your brother is the King of Hind. Don't you even trust his abilities in fighting?" I asked.

She hesitated a little.

"I do trust his abilities but I didn't want him to indulge in a war with you," She said.

"Why? Either your brother is defective or you?" I said in anger.

"I don't want to talk to you. I just wanted to say, we can't stay together. You have a wife, you are going to become a father in a month and there is no point in you staying here with me." She said looking at the other side.

I inhaled a breath, walked to her, and stood in front of her to say "What point do you want between us?"

She lifted her gaze and I could see water in her eyes.

"I am asking because I do not want any point between us. You got a happy life and I am happy in living life alone." She said.

"I don't feel any resemblance in this and me helping you. Give me a valid point to not help you." I asked.

"Sultan, Please if you stay here. I will develop a feeling for you even knowing that nothing can happen between us." She said.

"Ohhhhh, So you are feeling attracted to me. You could have told me straightly without bringing the fight." I said.

"I am bringing the fight?" She asked taking a step forward to me.

"Yes, you initiated a fight," I confirmed taking a step ahead.

"Ohh, Please you initiated a fight in the first place. You came to my Empire and plotted against my brother." She said and took a step forward coming closer to me.

"And you agreed to the wedding even without knowing me. Pretty brave." I said.

She was looking at me while I continued.

"So, tell me. Didn't you feel afraid that how would I behave and what will I do with you?" I asked cupping her chin with my fingers.

"I told you so many times. I am not afraid of anything, Not even death. The one who lost hope of living doesn't scare of anything." She said looking at me.

"Then why are you afraid of staying with me?" I asked.

She looked at me and hesitated. "I am not afraid in staying with you but you are"

I thinned my eyebrows listening to her and asked.

"I am not afraid. what you mean actually?"

"I mean you are coming close to me and you don't want it. You love someone else and you still trying to save." She said.

"I love someone else doesn't mean I won't take care of you. I told it before and I am telling you this again. You are my responsibility." I said looking at her.

"Fine, but after I heal you promise you won't visit my chamber ever." She asked.

I thinned my eyebrows and didn't understand her but that seems the good thing to do. If she wasn't feeling comfortable seeing me. Why would I do that then?

"Fine, I agree," I said and looked at her.

She nodded and I took a few steps backward.

I didn't understand her sudden change in behavior. I wondered if she heard me and Zeenat talking. I needed her, to be in the position of Sultan of this Empire.

I didn't know what to do. My life had become the puzzle now. I couldn't accept her, I couldn't leave her. I didn't know what was going to happen next.

"Can I go somewhere for a walk?"

My attention was caught by her suddenly. I looked at her and said.

"Yeah, Come I will show you the royal garden here," I said directing her to the Royal Garden.

"Wait a moment," She said and I looked at her. She picked her dupatta from the bed and placed it on her head neatly.

I didn't know why it made me smile a little and said.

"Don't worry, there won't be anyone there. That garden is for the royal people only."

She nodded and we both started walking.

I guided her to the way to the way of Garden. We walked outside the chamber and I told her about the palace.

"Here," I said showing her the gallery to the Garden. It was a long, decorated gallery connected to the huge hall.

Taking the left from the hall, walking from there came the huge Royal garden.

"It's beautiful" I looked at her as she muttered.

It was almost evening and cold breezes were feeling so pleasant.

We both entered the garden and there were countless plants and flowers there.

"Oh My God! It's so beautiful. You know I was wondering if I can see the flower garden ever again. We also have a huge garden like this in the Mahabaleshgarh." She said and I was looking at her smiling face.

Suddenly, she looked at me and asked.
