Chapter 24
It's been a minute!
Eight months have passed.
Nothing alerting has happened.
Adrianna still haunts Manuel's dreams.
Her beauty face, luscious lips ....
All what Manuel's waiting and longing to see again.
Eight months of searching.
Adrianna has eased off the idea that Manuel wasn't looking for her no more...
Adrianna
Another boring day of work, home, and sleep. Minus work today. A common routine, unless I'm going out for my appointments.
The highlights of my days are when I see Lora, Shawn and Roger. Another friend in the neighborhood, who lives with his on and off boyfriend and loves to buy gifts for the baby. I think he does it just to tweak that he wants to be the godfather of the baby boy in my stomach.
I look at my belly that has swelled 4 inches more just few more weeks to go and I can finally hold the kicker in my belly. I sigh dramatically as I finish washing the last dish in the sink. Today I had the day off and thought that I'd go and peek around for more things to put in the nursery.
I turned off the light in the kitchen. And walked into the bedroom. I grabbed a clean top paired them with fitting jeans and my white converses before heading out. Once I ensured I locked the house door, I walked to the drivers seat and put on my seat belt before driving off.

Manuel
Dammit! I have to stop thinking that any pregnant black woman I come across is Adrianna. Today I got slapped just for that, I controlled myself from beating the woman.
Anytime I think I get close to Adrianna, I don't I've looked over every state on the East Coast/Middle Eastern of this country and nothing.
It would take me another two months to dig deep in the states on the West Coast. I've gotten any and every help I can get. Team no sleep, and when I do get the chance to sleep all I see and think is Adrianna.... and my baby.
So many bloody questions to ask and shit I want to do to her when I find her...
I'm afraid of her what I'd do to her when I find her.
"Where is Liam?" I asked Dean who was walking besides me.
"In the administration office going through security tapes, and the other men are as well doing the same thing." Dean informs me.
We reach the administration office and which is the last room down the hall.
I barged in rudely and walked to the computer monitor Liam was working on.
Liam brought his attention to me and his face stood with fear making me question.
"What is it?" I gritted out.
Liam gulped and faces the computer towards me, showing me a footage of a cheap ass car rental shop with their unclean fucking footage of Adrianna picking up a car.
I can feel the nervousness radiating off of Liam not Dean since he was use to my anger issues.
"I need you to find any and every thing you know about this scene. I need the cars tag plate and where the fuck it is NOW!
I said fearlessly.
I don't know how many more days I can handle with Adrianna being this far from me.
Adrianna
I shiver in fear, as I turned the corner to get to the next alley to the frozen food section. After picking up a few clothing pieces for the baby. I made a quick stop to the local grocery store. I swear I was beginning followed earlier but brushed it off because I know how I get when my paranoia kicks in.
Anyways I pay my grocery's and make my way to my car. Wrapping the sweater around me as if i'll feel anymore secure.
As I'm putting my keys in the engine, BANG BANG BANG someone knocks hardly on my window scaring me. My reflects kick in and I pull out my pepper spray. "Adrianna are you seriously gonna pepper spray the godfather of you child!"
I let out a heavy sigh when I realize it was Roger.
I pulled down the windows.
"What in the f-ing world is your problem?! Do you know how scared I am right know you could have caused something bigger than just a scare, I'm pregnant Roger damn!" I said scolding him I may have came out a little harsh..
"Girl chill!" Roger said laughing his head off as if the situation was funny. "I've been following you all day I see why you may be paranoid." he said rolling his eyes. I looked at him wide eyed. Like what the fuck is this dude crazy. "No, I'm not crazy I just wanted to make sure you were okay...."
He was trailing off as if he was hiding something. "Roger what is?"
"Can I get a ride I walked like ran actually because .... forget about it can I get a ride, we technically live in the same neighborhood and.."
"Get in before I change my mind." I proclaimed.
Once we got to my house since Roger wanted to chill at me we unpack my car and head to the door. Approaching the door I realize that it's cracked open a bit like, I did have a spare key under the flower pot but only Roger knew about it . I look at Roger, Roger looks at me.
"I'll go check it out don't call the police yet it may be a false alarm. I'll be back stay here." Roger says in a hush voice.
"If you don't come back in 30 seconds I'm gone Roger okay, I got two lives to save." I rub my belly as I say that.
Roger smiles than disappears passed the door in to he dark house.
I shift my left legs weight to my right. I'm getting scared, "Roger, you good?" I ask pushing the door in and taking a step. "Roger I'ma leave you if ...."
"SUPRISE!" thinks stated flying at me and I closed my eyes tight. Breaking down. If I wasn't pregnant I'd be beating the shit out of people
right know.
I look around the room to see both Lora, Shawn, and Roger with a blue cake in hand smiling.
Awww they throw my a small baby shower even though I didn't ask for one or want one.
"Don't cry dear." Lora came hugging me giving me comfort at least I know I have a small group of people who care about me.
"Guys, I don't know what to say no ones every done this for me. Thank you."
"No let's go eat that good looking cake!" Roger says already getting a plate. I laugh, a laugh that felt alive, than I felt water tricking down my pants like water being pours down my pants.
The whole room got silence.
