Chapter 27

When Vince returned to his castle with Gwen, he found that the primordials were no longer waiting for him. Jake was the first to leave saying that he needed to deal with something while Caleb and Jessica went to look at his at collection before he returned her to her brother home not to long ago.

Jessica had walked into her brother room only to see him almost naked and started screaming about her poor eyes and that she will not recover from what she saw. She also said that she was glad Gwen was back before she ran out of the room.

Now, Vince was contented to just stay in his home and laze around with his mate. He knew that he would need to go back to his duties soon but he wasn't ready to approach that subject yet.

" we are going to talk about you hunting eventually. " Gwen said breaking the contented silentness that she and Vince was enjoying.

Vince sighed. " yes, we would have to do that eventually but it doesn't have to be now. "

" procrastinating the conversation will not make me settled, we should discuss it now. " Gwen said refusing to shift the conversation to a later date.

Vince sat up with a sigh. Some how he and Gwen were connected on a basic scale that they thought about almost the same thing at the same time. If he had known he would not have thought about the subject. " I can't conVince you that I will be alright. " Vince questioned.

Gwen stiffens as her skin suddenly felt hot. Vince will not do this to her. This time she was ready to get physical with him and she would do anything in her power to tie him down if that was his plan.

Vince glance at Gwen face and chuckles silently. " it is just a question Gwen. No need to look like I just betrayed you. "

" it is just a question. Promise me that. " Gwen orders.

" it was. I think that you should be with me when I go for hunting. " said Vince after a while of silence that had began to tug at Gwen heart.

" really. You want me to come along. " Gwen asked with her eyes shiny with relief, that any second from now she would burst into tears.

" it is the best option. Although I will replace you with Jake when we start seeing clues that suggest we are getting closer to the finding those bastards that are responsible. "

" you still haven't seen clues. " Gwen asked Vince who sighed.

" yes, they covered their tracks to perfection and it annoying and making me feel as if my training king skills is substandard and it is seriously annoying. " Vince frowned at that thought and without thinking, Gwen leaned into Vince and used her hand to smooth out the frown and a smile tugged at Vince lips instead of a frown. She was used to doing that to him and he didn't realize how much he missed the little quirk of hers until now. " I miss you. " he tells Gwen who was still close to him since his hands were wrap poo ed around her waist, holding her body to his.

Gwen body and expression went soft. There is nothing more heart felt than when the person you love stops in a middle of a conversation he is having with you and stares into your eyes then tells you that he loves you. At that moment, he meant it and nothing will ever take away that fact even when you are no longer together.

Luckily she won't have to go through that. Vince was her mate and her forever. " love you too. " Gwen said in a soft quiet tone that was filled with it then love.

Vince kissed her then gave her a grin that almost distracted her from the conversation that they were having.

" we need to talk about the other primordials, they are the only ones talented enough to get away with anything. I studied your notes and it looks like vampires are responsible. If it is vampires then it has to be powerful ones to escape your notice and I think that it is only primordials that can escape you. " Gwen said quickly trying to get it out in one breath because she knew that Vince would not be happy with her contributions after all she might be his mate but she has just been in his life for a little while not compared to those that has been in his life for more than a millennium. Those that has been with him thick and thin and share a stronger bond than every other person in his life. Hers is debatable.

Vince left turned and went to sit on the chair as he glared at his mate. " what do you think you are doing suggesting that. " his asked with his voice like a whip. If it another person not his mate. The person would try to apologize for suggesting such a thing and leave the room quickly but his mate just raised and eyebrow at him after blinking repeatedly. She had complete faith in him that he would not harm her. And it is true. He would rather die than to touch her with the intent of harming her.

" I am sorry but you have to look at all angles. That angle is a very big angle. "

" just stop all your suggestions. They would never do that. They would never betray the vampires race. "

" and how do you know that. " Gwen questions.

" because we were betrayed by friends before. " Vince said with a sad smile.

Gwen was surprised at that. " recently."

" no. We were ten primordials and three betrayed us. The rest of us were almost killed before Courtney saved us. In anger we killed those traitors within, me leading the rest. It caused us peace but there was havoc seeing that we were friends for a while.

" I am sorry for suggesting that. " Gwen said softly.

" it is okay. You wouldn't have had a idea seeing that we erased everything about their existence. Still date the thought of them makes me so pissed off. I mean while would you create something only to try and destroy it tomorrow. " Vince said as Gwen went to meet him.

" I have not idea. If all creators was like you. I have a feeling that the supernatural world will be much better. "

"you are only saying that to make me love you more. " Vince said with a smile as he kissed her

" nope. I know that you love me enough but still, Vince try to look into it. " Gwen added as she kissed his cheeks and moved to the bathroom.
