Chapter 30

Courtney felt Vince rage as she tensed then drew away from her mate with an annoyed sigh. Why did Vince had to throw a fit because she refuse to leave her mate. When she sees him, she was going to punch him right in the face for this asshole move he just made. How dare him try to compelled her. He doesn't have that right.

"where are you going. " Ashley asked Courtney in a sleepy voice.

Courtney sighed as Ashley rolled to look at her. She would love nothing more than to pull off the few clothing she just put on and crawl back to Ashley arms but the compulsion wouldn't let her. Oh Vince was going to get it as soon as she saw him.

" I have to see Vincent. Lay back baby, I will be back very soon. " Courtney said as she kissed his forehead and put on her leather skirt and zipped up.

" I need to see Gwen too. " Ashley said as he sat up and rubbed his eyes.

" Vincent is angry. I don't want you near him when he is angry. " Courtney said.

" that is good since I don't want to be near him, I rather be near Gwen and this way we will kill two bed with one stone. Or else you prefer me visiting her when we should be in bed. " Ashley asked as he cocked one eyebrow and waited for his mate to answer. He also decided that she needs to start having other clothes apart from leather since whenever he sees her in her leather wears, he wants to do nothing more than rip the clothes from her body and spirit her to his bed.... Well her bed, it didn't matter who has the bed as long as the bed was sturdy enough to endure him doing the horizontal dance with her.

" fine. You win. " Courtney growls in frustration as Ashley smiles then started to get ready. Courtney knew he was right, she wouldn't keep him from his friend neither would she keep him from hers but right now she would prefer him being safe and she had a feeling that Vince rage was not directed at her but that doesn't mean that he might not lash out.

" am done. " Ashley said as he stood close to his mate, frowning when he saw the worried look in her unfocused eyes which she quickly hid then she smiled at him and he smiled back. Knowing that she was trying to hide something from him and he knew he didn't want to push her to tell him now.

" okay. " Courtney said as she wrapped her hands around him then he bent his head to kiss her just as she teleported them into chaos.

Courtney raised her head to see Vincent growling and looking be completely inhumane, saw Jessica looking like death and drinking blood from a blood bag, nobody was worried about finesse that minute and blood was hanging on her skin. Courtney eyes rested on Gwen the exact moment, Ashley eyes rested on her too since she felt his body go stiff.

"Gwen. " Ashley breathed and tried to move closer to Gwen but Courtney held him back the exact moment Vince released a growl.

" don't go near her. Not in the state he is in. " Courtney tell Ashley who tears his eyes away from his friend to nod at his mate before glancing at Vince who was watching him to see if he would move close to his mate again.

" what happened. " Courtney asks.

" those annoying little pests we have been ignoring for the sake of peace. They finally attacked us. " Jake snarls with anger morphing his face to one they have never seen before. Courtney knew that Jake was just like Vincent when it comes to protecting the wanderer in their midst, she never knew that it was this bad.

"no, it wasn't them. " Jessica said as she stops drinking.

Vince stops pacing as he face his sister. " explain. "

"these were vampires. " Jessica said.

" but vampires are not suppose to know that you are one of us. How did they find out. " Caleb asks

" I don't know but they were many and they clearly didn't want to kill us. Their orders was to take us alive. "

" great now we have vampires banding up against us even when we face this external threat. " Elijah said in barely concealed disgust.

" I think these vampires are part of the group that attack other races. " Jessica said and when they all turned to look at her she explained. " they were not comfortable with their style of attack that was what made them fail. They always go for killing shots but at the last second change their attack. "

" okay. We need to hold an official meeting. " Caleb said.

The air shimmer as Matthew appears. " they are gone. " he spat in anger.

" well they refuse to stay when Gwen turned on her psychic scream. " Jessica said as the primordials quickly turned around to look at her.

" are you certain. " Vince asked in wonder as he glanced at his mate.

" I know what I saw and I know what I heard. When she started scream, I could feel her hate, fear and rage at those attacking us. That was why they all ran. If they had stayed , they might have killed themselves. " Jessica added.

" if they ran away, why is she unconscious. "

" she is always unconscious when she discovers a new ability. " Ashley said as they all turned to look at him.

" do you know how to wake her. " Vince asked Ashley.

" yes, blood. Then she needs to regain her strength by sleeping.

"then we convene in three hours. Get ready. " Vince orders the rest as he scooped Gwen up in his arms and took. her away from the room while Courtney obedient to Gwen to get the full story of what happened.

Courtney knew that, the peace they had have also shattered. Nothing and nobody will be safe until the people who hurt his mate died in his hands as he watch their life blood drained out of them.

They just awoken the savage monster that sleeps inside of Vincent.
