" I can't believe he thinks it is okay for him to decide what I get to do. " Jessica rants as she changes into another outfit.

Gwen rolled her eyes at Jessica although she couldn't see her "Jessica. You know how he is. "

" still I don't understand why he still sees me as incapable of protecting myself. After everything we have been through, I can't believe this"

" hmm. You mean just the same way I can't believe you are still ranting about this even though you have been with him for more than a thousand years. " Gwen offered dryly

Jessica paused in her ranting as she glared at the door which Gwen was standing on the opposite side. This was not fair, well what was she expecting. Gwen would never side anyone against her mate.

"you should be ranting too about him being in charge of your life" Jessica pointed outing a calm voice.

" I should but I am not. I know that if he is in charge, he will pick the life that will benefit me the most. He will protect my interests and make sure that we will be together. Another reason why I am so crazy about your brother. "

"I can't believe this. " Jessica grumbles.

" he is my mate. what do you expect. " Gwen asked with humour on her voice.

Jessica came out of the changing stall and glared at her brother mate. " have you guys fixed a mating ceremony yet. " Jessica asks to divert the conversations because she knew that the former conversation she was having with Gwen would not be won by her.

" we will after this whole mess is figured out. Besides, I have a feeling that Vince will not be able to go away for a while now and believe when I say, I want us to go away for a long time after our official mating. " Gwen explained

"well this mess better clear up quickly then because I suspect you would start doubting the bond soon. "

" I would never... " Gwen started with an immediate denial but stops then corrected herself. " not on purpose but Vince would sense it then he will reassure me. "

Jessica was about to reply when's she caught an unnatural glint from the sun and she quickly threw Gwen out of the way she drives away from where they were standing. Not a moment later, a small explosive was thrown where they were standing.

Gwen got up quickly as she searches for Jessica. " Jessica. " she calls when she saw Jessica surrounded by paranormals who looked like vampires, something was covering their faces.

Some of the vampires turn to look at her then started moving towards her when Jessica growled then started to fight but even with her supernatural talents, she never trained to fight multitudes so she was getting over powered slowly with the plenty vampires who were rushing to fill their brethren space when they fell at the hands of Jessica.

Gwen steeled herself and force her body not to recoil in fear when the vampires approached her, she was barely an immortal, still a baby vampire that her mate refuse to allow her be taught how to fight and the only thing she could do was to mess with others psychic and that take concentration and she would be stupid to do that here.

Gwen slowed her breathing and tried to focus on the attack. She also couldn't alert Vince since she knew for a fact that they would try to kill Vince and she didn't want Vince to go into a haze which would happen if he came and saw the two closest people to his heart fighting for their lives.

" if you remain calm and docile, we won't hurt you. " one of them spoke to Gwen as she gently release her body tightness.

"really? " Gwen asked in a tiny voice that was filled with vulnerability. She had to make them think of her as weak and pliant.

" yes, really. " the Vampire said as he reduced his defensive stance and moved to Gwen with easy swagger think that she won't fight him.

As soon as he got close enough to Gwen, Gwen used her knees to kick him in between his legs and when he fell on his knees, she took his head and snapped it. She looked to the others with her eyes flashing red and it made the rest hesitate for a second before they rushed to her and this the fight commence. She received just as much as she gave, but she made sure that very of her move counted, that was until they black handed her and she fell on her side. She watched Jessica on her knees as Jessica spat out blood, looking messy and covered with blood. Gwen could tell that something of the blood was Jessica's since she could see Jessica eyes dull a little. Jessica didn't have much time left, she realised.

With that realization, something broke inside her and she screamed out her rage at what was happened. As she screamed, the vampires started to cry in anguish, trying to flee from the Gwen and Jessica.

Gwen didn't know what was happening or neither was she listening or hearing anything, she was lost in her head, screaming out her pain and rage. She didn't stop until she felt a hand on her shoulder, she saw Jessica with her ears bleeding and she stopped screaming suddenly devoid of strength." Jessica... " She muttered with a smile as she felt the world move beneath her as she fell, fully exhausted.

Vince slammed his phone receiver down, he wasn't the one who get angry over something like this but he couldn't help the frustration he was feeling at Courtney. He also knew that it wasn't her fault. He knew that if anybody had told him to leave his mate during the first week he met Gwen he would have killed first and asked for the reason later. And it still didn't help his mood that Gwen was not with him now. The primordials need to hold a meeting and that would not be possible if they were not complete.

" could you get her. " Jacob asked in a bored tone.

" you know the answer since you were evedropping on the conversation. " Vince answers Jake with a glare. He was nothing the mood to act as if everything was sunny in his world.

" it is not evedropping when you can easily hear what is going on without straining yourself. " Jacob drawls as he sits up with a grimace on his face. " although I would have preffered to see her mate first would hearing both of them having sex. "

" where are you going. " Vince asks Jake who started to walk away.

" I have a hot date this evening with some succubus. It has been a long time since I felt numb because of pleasure. " Jake responded.

" tell me you are joking. " Vince gritted out, unable to believe that Jake wanted to put himself in harms way like that.

" I never joke when it concerns sex. " Jake said completely serious.

" and you want to be weak after that kind of sex now even though we don't know what is going on and which race to trust. " Vince asked unbelievably

" yes because they would not try to do anything of that sort with me. I will kill them and if I can't, they know I have people to avenge me. "

Vince opened his mouth to tell Jake just how stupid he is acting right now when he felt the air shimmer and then he smelled his sister blood. With supernatural speed he ran towards the scent of blood with Jake at his side and when they got to the sitting room they saw his sister badly bruised and his mate unconscious in her arms.

" I am sorry. " his sister choked back her tears as Jake starts fussing over her and demanding what happened.

Vince stood there for a second before he let out a mighty shout laced with compulsion. "come to me. " calling other primordials to his side.
