A 'Chat' with the witch

Adira stepped back and stood beside her mother.

"I guess it's time for you to leave," Elphaba said.

"Lady Elphaba, won't you talk with grooms?" Eudora asked with confusion. If she spoke with brides then she shall talk with men too, right?

"Men are stupid people. They are not as smart as women. They won't understand the things I say," Elphaba said.

"You won't know without telling us," Zaros said suddenly.

Maximus also wanted to refute her but he knew he has to shut his mouth in her presence. But she wondered if Zaros and Eudora were fools. Loke, seriously one should know that they should shut their mouth when they are in other people's territory. And especially talking with a witch is the hardest thing. If their words provoked the witch then it would be a bad thing. She may place a curse or let them suffer. This wasn't good.

Do they think they were invincible?

These vampires….

And from Adira's actions, he could say there was something wrong with this man. He needs to be varied and get to know what's happening with them.

Elphaba gave raised a brow at Zaros before chuckling.

"Since, you want to know… I will tell you. You are a blind man who couldn't see the truth and hates the victim. And now again for your selfishness, you are creating another victim not knowing what the future beholds. Use your brain not fangs," Elphaba said with her narrowed eyes.

Zaros was shocked when he heard her words. It's as if she knew everything about him.

Elphaba smirked at him and turned her head towards Maximus.

"Use brain along with the heart. The heart makes you ignore things but the brain doesn't," Elphaba said and turned her head.

Unlike earlier, everyone heard the words she said to men.

"Now, everyone leaves except the brides and bride mothers," Elphaba said.

Everyone left leaving the four women with Elphaba. "Serene first, everyone waits outside," Elphaba said.

"My Lady," Serene said.

"Unveil the things to Adira. It's time for her to know," Elphaba said.

"When shall I?" Serene asked to hope to ask a perfect time to unveil.

"I will send Sansa when it's time," Elphaba said.

"Call Lady Eudora when you leave," she added.

Serene nodded and left.

Eudora entered the hall gracefully and looked charming like ever.

"Earlier I haven't said. But I will say now. You are more graceful than the tales that were spread across the world, and you are more beautiful than the stories that described your beauty," Elphaba said.

"I am flattered by your praise, My Lady," Eudora said with a small smile.

"She is innocent," Elphaba said.

Eudora furrowed her brows at her words.

"I am talking about Victoria," Elphaba added when she saw her furrowed brows.

Eudora was surprised at her words.

"I know it, My Lady. I know everything. But I am not commanded by the god to reveal everything. But trust me. She is innocent and a victim like your other daughter but got burnt for everything. She became a scapegoat for the things she didn't do," Elphaba said.

"Who is guilty?" Eudora asked.

"That is for you to find. Trust your instincts while finding," Elphaba said.

"Thank you, My Lady," Eudora said.

"Can you call your daughter while leaving?" Elphaba said.

Lenora entered the room after Eudora passed the information to her.

"My Lady," Lenora said. She has many things going on her mind.

"If you were not a dead person, I would like to listen to the things that are going in your head," Elphaba said with a chuckle. Even Lenora chuckled.

"I wish I wasn't a dead person," Lenora added too.

"I know. You are more than a dead person," Elphaba said.

"What does it mean, My Lady?" Lenora asked.

"You will know when the time comes," Elphaba said, making Lenora feels confused.

"Keep Ophelia with you before you send her to Valorine. She will guide you," Elphaba said.

Lenora was confused again. She wondered what was wrong with this woman. This woman was confusing.

"You may leave," Elphaba said. Lenora turned around to leave.

"Call your sister-in-law before you leave," Elphaba said when Lenora was about to turn the doorknob. Lenora nodded and left.

"My Lady," Adira said as she entered the room.

"The most dangerous place is the safest place," the witch said to her.

"You talk too many riddles, My Lady," Adira said.

"Solving riddles makes life interesting. And the Lord loves interesting things. I entertain the lord, My Lady," Elphaba said.

"A lord who gets entertained by people's suffering is not a lord, My Lady. Looks like you chose the wrong lord to serve," Adira said.

"I do as lord command, My Lady. My Lord is never a wrong choice. We are all standing here because he let us live on his land with his blessings," Elphaba said.

"But the land belongs to nature," Adira said.

"Indeed, and nature is the lord," Elphaba said.

"But nature isn't one. It's two. It's formed of a man and woman. There is no lord. You are lord to yourself," Adira said.

"We have opinions. And it isn't necessary to agree with others' opinion when you have one," Elphaba said.

"Indeed," Adira said.

"You want to know something more," Elphaba said.

"I wonder if you can hear my thoughts," Adira said.

"I can't but can read. For some reason… I can only hear only selective people's thoughts for some odd reason. But I can read faces. Expressions can give away a lot. And you are more expressive than anyone. Conceal them well," Elphaba said.

"My brother. She is too smart than anyone I came across. Will he be fine?" Adira asked.

"Trust in your moon goddess. She never makes a wrong choice," Elphaba said.

Adira stared at Elphaba for a second longer before saying, "I will take my leave,"

Elphaba just nodded her head to her before giving a small smile to her.

Elphaba was amused at this girl. She is too smart for herself. Daring to defy a witch when everyone chose to be silent is like a death wish.

She wondered what this woman will do in the future.
