Amy just left and Heather was peeling an apple in the kitchen when her mom called. She said that her dad wanted to talk to her. She walked to her bedroom to take the call. This was the first time that her father would be talking to her since she left Australia. She sat on the foot of her bed as she griped her phone. There was silence for a few seconds. Then she heard her father sigh again.

"You remember my former business partner and friend Henry don't you? The one who moved to America ten years ago?"

"I do. Did they come back there?" she asked.

"Yes. He recently got divorced .His daughter Layla chose to be with her mother in Los Angeles while Adam opted to be with him. They were here last night. Adam was asking about you."

She nibbled her fingernail. "Daddy, I am not interested in him."

"Adam is a good man. He just finished his management course and he is planning to start a business here. He is going to be good for you."

He remembered a mischievous teenager. He had brown hair and green eyes.

"He looks so different now. I gave him your number. He said he will call you."

She groaned in frustration. "Daddy you shouldn't have given Adam my number." she complained. Her eyes widened when she noticed that her dad already hung up. She sighed and got off the bed and turned. She gasped when she saw Blake. His folded arms were on his chest as leaned on the door frame. Oh my! Did he hear everything? She asked herself. "S-Sweetheart.. have you been there long?"

He didn’t answer her. His eyes were like slits as he looked at her.
