As I return to my table, my thoughts kept turning to Alea and what she was saying to me. That only I could make her happy. How can she think that? That was so wrong. She knows who I am. How can she think that I would be able to make someone happy.
Eyes were on me until I sat. It was clear to me that everyone now knew who the woman I was talking about was. However, I didn't care. I grabbed my silverware and started eating.
My empty plate was just being cleared away by a waitress when suddenly an employee jumped up from the table in a frantic manner, causing a glass to fall on the floor and shatter into thousands of pieces. When I looked, I immediately recognized that it was the table Alea was sitting at before. And Alea wasn't sitting there.
A woman screamed and waved her phone around before I realized that her hands were covered in blood. I immediately felt uneasy. The woman and the guy who threw the glass on the floor ran. And I knew immediately that something had to be with Alea. They were the same employees she spent her break with.
I got up and walked quickly to the exit. Every step I took closer made me tremble inside. And then I saw her...
My girl lay motionless on the floor. A pool of blood next to her. One guy tapped her cheeks and yelled her name. The woman stood by and screamed incessantly.
I was shocked. Standing motionless. My only look at Alea. What happened ? is she dead No this can not be.
I quietly heard voices. More and more people came. "An ambulance, an ambulance!" they shouted.
"Mr. Silva... Mr. Silva, please help us" Only now did I notice the woman in front of me and I finally woke up from my rigid state.
I ran to Alea and knelt down next to her. I checked her pulse but couldn't find one. My eyes widened and I looked at the man next to me in shock. He looked stunned too.
Then we heard sirens and before we knew it the paramedics came running. We immediately moved to the side so that they had enough space. They too felt the pulse and quickly realized that there was no longer a heartbeat.
They unpacked the resuscitation device and began to apply electricity to it "charge to 200" shouted a paramedic. Then the resuscitation began.
Nothing. No heartbeat. Just the sound of a continuous signal. And the monitor also showed a continuous line....
"Charge to 300" came the doctor's voice again. "All gone" and again Alea's body jumped in the air as the paddles of the resuscitation device hit her chest.
No reaction. She just lay there. white as chalk. your eyes closed The body lifeless. I was shaking, cold and sick. These feelings I had inside me to see you like this. Knowing that I could lose her. That she could die It took my breath away. I've never cared about anyone like that before. I've never been so scared in my life.
"Charge to 350" the voice broke through my thoughts. The doctors left no stone unturned. But even this powerful electric shock didn't get her heart to beat."
The doctors put the paddles aside and began manual resuscitation "Last chance little ones, come on, come back to us," the paramedic said while pumping her chest.
I closed my eyes and clasped my hands. Please please God, I know I'm not exactly a child of God and I really belong in hell, but if you really exist then please, I beg you, let Alea live. Don't take my girl away from me. I swear to you on everything that's sacred to me, I'll never make her cry again. I will make her happy as she wished. I would give anything for her. yeah damn I love her. I have always loved her. I just didn't want to admit it and now don't let it be too late. Please. I want to tell her. To tell her beautiful face how much I love her...
And then I felt a tear run down my face. I cried. THIAGO SILVA actually cried.
I opened my eyes again.
I will never forget this sight in my whole life and I knew she would die today. Then I would die with her.
The doctor gave everything again and resuscitated 30 times in a row. But her body remained lifeless. He let go of her and shook his head...
