The alarm rang out from beside her, the following morning and see tossed back on her bed, raising her bed cover to cover her ears.
It didn't seem to help in putting out the noise though, so she reached to put it off.
Her eyes were still sleepy as she sat up to look out through the view of the beach. That was one of the reasons she'd preferred her aunt's place to her mom's. She woke up to a beautiful scenery morning.
She crawled out of bed and was about to stretch, when she froze on seeing the familiar Maserati parked outside. Was she seeing things? She wondered as she raised a hand to massage her sleepy eyes, before peeking outside through the window again. And she decided she wasn't seeing things, on seeing it again.
She raced out of her bedroom, like someone possessed, down the stairs, and out of her aunt's apartment headed for her aunt's workshop, with tons of questions running through her mind.
What was he doing there seemed to be the paramount question with a question mark.
He was looking over the pictures of her and her aunt when she was much younger, with her aunt watching him, by the time she walked in.
"Auntie Freya." She called and her aunt's head whipped towards her, almost when Demir turned to look at her.
"You're here."
"Did you sleep well?" Demir asked and she turned back to him.
"What are you doing here?"
"I was learning pottery from your aunt." He replied and she tore her eyes, to look at her aunt
"He was here this morning, saying he was a close friend of yours. He said he wanted to learn pottery, so I was teaching him a few of my special know-hows."
Seriously? She cringed as she leaned to whisper something in her aunt's ears
"You don't know him. You should have been careful and confirmed it with me, first."
Auntie Freya turned to look at Demir, before turning back to Tahti. "Isn't he your friend?"
"He is, but..."
"Then, it's fine. Let's eat."She interrupted and faced Demir. "Do you want to join us?"
Demir's eyes moved to Tahti and she told him to reject the offer, by shaking her head from where she stood behind her aunt.
"Sure." He replied, with a smile and her aunt turned back to her.
"Are you doing anything?"
"No." She replied, upset he hadn't listened to her.
"Then, you two can catch up. I'll prepare breakfast." Auntie Freya said and made to leave.
"Auntie Freya, where are you going?" She mouthed, wondering why her aunt was leaving her alone with someone she barely knew and her aunt threw her a wink, before she walked out.
Good Lord, she rolled her eyes with a sigh and spun back to face him.
"What are you doing here?"
"I came here to see your aunt." He replied and she scoffed.
"Stop joking around."
He raised his hands to take off the apron he was wearing and folded it, before he walked towards her.
"We didn't get to finish."
Finish what? She wanted to ask, before she recalled the previous night's incident.
"Oh, just forget about yesterday."
He looked away for a minute, as if he was considering the weight of her words.
"By that, are you saying last night didn't mean anything?"
"It was a mistake." She replied. "We both had too much to drink last night, didn't we?" She asked and he sighed.
"Well, if that's how you feel." He said, a pained smile crossing his face, which told her he felt that the time they'd spent was nothing. "By the way, are you and Josh dating?"
It was her turn to draw the line.
"You don't have to know. It's none of your business."
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips and she was surprised to see that kind of reaction.
"Hey, you're so cold. You really hurt me, just now."
Hurt him? He'd hurt her countless number of times and she was just returning the favor and he dated to complain.
Well, she didn't care.
"Demir." Her aunt called as she walked in and Tahti was surprised she already knew his name.
"I'm sorry, for interrupting your discussion, but...is there anything you'd like to have?"
"I'm sorry, but I should get going." He replied and she turned to him.
He was such a coward, to leave all of a sudden, just because she'd supposedly 'hurt' him.
"You're not going to have breakfast? It won't take long."
"I have other plans." He replied as turned to Tahti. "It's too bad, though. I loved your home-made spaghetti."
Tahti's head sharply whipped round to look at him. Why in the world, did he have to add just that? Her aunt would be able to add two and two together, to figure out they were more than close friends.
"You tried my home-made spaghetti? How? I only sent them t Tahti and her cousin." Her aunt replied, with a glance at Tahti's way.
He smiled and faced her aunt again. "Can I come and learn pottery during the vacations?"
He asked and Tahti couldn't believe what was going on. Was he thinking of familiarizing himself with her aunt? That wasn't possible.
"Of course." Auntie Freya replied ad Tahti turned back to her aunt, wondering why she had accepted to teach him.
"He's pretty talented. If I teach him well, he might turn out to be a better assistant than you." Her aunt said on noticing the look of surprise she had on her face.
"Auntie."
"I'll take my leave, then." Demir announced and turned to her. "See you in Los Angeles."
With that, he walked out of the house.
"Take care." Her aunt said on his way out, before she turned to her. "You should help set the table." She said and spun to head for the kitchen, leaving Tahti, who turned to watch Demir get into his car.
Breakfast was served outdoors for the crew, that morning and everyone cheered on seeing the simple breakfast of toast with scrambled eggs and peanut butter.
Janine's eyes scanned round the table, on lowering the peanut butter, with a frown as she noticed there were about three short.
"Isn't Demir eating?" She asked and Ramiel turned to her.
"He left."
"Already?" Janine asked.
"Yeah. He said he had other plans." He replied.
"What plans?" April asked.
"I'm not pretty sure, about that. He didn't tell me."
"What about Tahti?" Jasmine asked.
"She went to her aunt's place." April replied, and her head whipped round to look at the empty seat of the third person, who wasn't seated with them, but afar off looking at the tides.
"Hey, what about Derek? Isn't he eating?" He said and April turned to look towards the bank where he was seated. He had been the one who had dumped her the previous night, so there was no way he was possibly mopping over their breakup.
"I don't know." She sighed as she dragged her eyes away from him. "I guess he's not feeling too well."
"Gosh, I feel awful." Jennie cried out, from where she was seated back to back, with Sol. She had been whining about her hangover, ever since she'd gotten up that morning.
"Jennie, do you even remember last night?" April taunted.
"I remember playing the drinking games..." She was saying and Sol's ears pricked up as she held her breath to hear what she was going to say.
"...but I don't remember a thing that happened after that."
"I wonder why she drank so much, yesterday." Herley muttered.
"Sol was the one who took you in last night and washed you up " Jasmine sighed. "How will you live without Sol?"
"You should get a grip on yourself, when drinking." April said and Herley turned to her, with an arched brow.
"Look who's talking. Without Derek..."
"Shut up." April said, with glared daggers.
"Alright." He replied, with a fake smile and April turned to look at Derek, one more time, before sighing.
