HYBRID TIMBER 27
Timber was sitting in a chair next to his friends Smoke, Harder and Brute. Standing were Stone and Runner. Jack Nobel had left that matter for them to resolve as he was having a meeting with the government on other matters that would contribute to the good of the Hybrids.
Miles Eron, in charge of public relations for OOH, and Brenner Smith, leader of the human task force who worked in partnership with his people to rescue New Hybrids and capture Medicinne employees still at large, were present via a speaker phone call.
“I'm sorry about that. Timber said, sounding sincere.
- You feel? Brenner asked a little wryly on the other end of the line.
— Yes, for getting my friends and the OH (Hybrid Organization.) into possible trouble, of course. Not for rescuing my female, I would do it all over again, exactly the same and still make sure the shots don't just go high if necessary. Timber shrugged.
“You were rather reckless, shooting up into a church full of humans who hate us. They are accusing us of terrorism and kidnapping. Runner warned.
Timber glared at him and he looked unruffled, not a scowl or disapproving look on his face.
“Look at that headline. Stone held the phone out to him and he wanted to laugh but stopped himself.
There it was written that a Hybrid kidnapped a woman on her wedding day and that groom and mother were begging him to return the girl.
“That is clearly a lie. He stated the obvious.
- We know. The public relations team proposed that they do an interview to disprove these accusations. Stone said.
“As long as Eva isn't in danger, I'm fine with that. Can it be via video call? Timber said, not wanting to mention out loud that he was afraid of what happened to Ellie and Runner.
He would do the same as the male did to protect his female, he would step in front of any bullet for her without even hesitating, however, he feared that a bullet could be accurate and wound his mate without giving him a chance to protect her.
- Good. We can see the possibility of the video call. Stone nodded.
- Then? What will my punishment be? I would like to make it clear right away that Harder, Smoke and Brute were not to blame for anything. I take full responsibility. He hurried to clarify.
“You'll be transferred to the human task force unit led by Brenner Smith, you'll work with them for a month on missions to capture Medicinne employees still at large. Stone said.
His mind had an alert that made him snarl.
"If you want to consider me going without her." I'll work without any problem, but Eva goes with me wherever I go. Timber made it clear, snarling.
- I warned. — Miles Eron commented on the call.
"She stays and you go." It's a way for us to stop these males from acting irrationally and impulsively. Brenner Smith said.
"Who do you think you are to want to order that?" I wouldn't have the courage to try to take my female away from me if she was here in front of me. No one will take me away from her. I will fight anyone who tries. Timber got up angrily and headed for the door.
“Calm down, male. It's safer for her here. Smoke exclaimed, getting up and heading towards his friend at the door.
"It's safe for her by my side, I would protect her with my life." Timber felt his heart ache at just the thought of having to be away from her again.
He even felt some difficulty in breathing.
“We would also protect her just because she was your mate. Harder assured.
“Runner? — He looked at the only male there who would understand his fear — Would you let them take Ellie away from you?
“Never and I don't agree with that. he snarled.
"Kill me if you're going to make me stay away from her, I'd rather die than spend a day without her." he proclaimed aloud and turned the doorknob.
— Timber! We're not done here. Stone roared.
“It's over for me. Eva is everything to me and I will never allow any distance between us! If I broke into a church and threw it in the air, I don't regret it because I know it's with me now and then I'll be punished exactly the same distance as why I did what I did? He felt emotion stuck in his throat, his chest ached and his eyes watered.
“No one will take you away from your female, I give you my word. - Runner assured, I understand the male - But you need to sit down and give us the report of events. We need to be ready for any retaliation.
Timber took a deep breath and sat back down, agonized and nervous, all he wanted was to go back to his dorm and hold Eva in his arms. She was there, she knew it was safe, but she had the need to make sure of it with her own eyes, to be with her and be there for her after everything she'd had to go through alone.
The stressed male then proceeded to tell everything, detail by detail, leaving out the part that Eva could be expecting her calf, because of Miles Eron's presence.
- Good. Runner nodded when he finished speaking, then turned to Miles, "Miles, can you work on this?" Whether it's a video testimonial, a press conference inside the gates and with journalists searched to the millimeter to prevent another incident like mine from happening.
“I'm more than an expert on this situation, after all, this isn't the first time a Hybrid has gone crazy over a woman. - Miles Eron replied.
“And it won't be the last. “I just want this to be over and my Eva to have peace.” We have to hunt down that church group that tortured Zest's female and wanted to do the same to mine.
- I agree. Harder agreed.
"Were you guys already mates?" Tom asked.
— It doesn't matter if a paper was signed or not. We took them as mates the moment we tagged them, so they're Hybrids too. Timber replied.
“I think the task force can do a good job capturing them. The cult members who tortured Vivian, Zest's mate, of course, and if any of those are the ones who wanted to harm their female, they'll be caught. Brenner assured.
"What if they aren't the same?" They were part of the same church, but what if they weren't the exact four people who wanted to harm my mate?
“And they probably aren't, but Timber, we can't arrest them because a human wanted to marry her and the others set it up. If they had made attempts on her life, tortured and permanently damaged her, that would be another story. Stone spoke calmly and Timber had to see reason in that, but a lightbulb went on in his mind.
— And the slander? They're lying about me kidnapping my female.
“That doesn't mean we're going to arrest them, but we're going to file a lawsuit,” Timber snarled, but Stone continued. he blinked.
Timber thought that would be enough. Either way, he would never let them be dangerous to Eva again, she would be safe with him forever.
“I just want to be alone with the male named Bruce for five minutes when they bring him in for questioning. — imposed his will.
“I don't know if that would be wise. It's personal to you and could get you out of control. - Miles Eron commented.
“Then I'll go out and hunt on my own and beat the fucker up. He didn't try to kill, he didn't torture, but he hurt my female, he offended her, hit her, disturbed her. What would you do? he asked looking at Runner, knowing that at that moment he would be the only one to understand his thirst for revenge.
“Fuck, stop using that reverse psychology, you know I'd do anything for my Ellie. All the same. he snarled.
— Fuck, be sensible and stop wanting revenge at any cost. Your female is already with you, enjoy your time with her. It is not enough? Brute exploded.
“Wait until you find your mate, your everything, your world, and only then tell me what to do or not to do for her when people have hurt her and they're out there. At least the weight of my fist this male will feel.
Timber snarled at his friend and Brute got up, the two stared at each other like they were about to fight.
— So I'll never know how to tell you, because I don't intend to become an irrational madman for any damn female, even less for a fragile human who can't defend herself! Brute hissed, and Timber moved closer to the male, intimidatingly.
“Eva will never have to worry about her physical strength because I will always be there to protect her with my life. Don't you also keep saying that you can't resist a female in danger? Don't offend my female or I'll break your damn muzzle. Brute stared at him in shock.
"Where's that docile male who isn't good at combat?" Who didn't fight Tyger because he knew he couldn't win? Do you think you could beat me? Brute challenged him, ignoring the part that he really couldn't see any females in distress.
His instincts spoke louder.
- Think. Don't underestimate a possessive male who has found his mate, bring her up again and I can show you. Offend me, not her. Eva is not a fragile and weak human, she is perfect. Timber glared at him.
"You've gone unreasonable!" Brute yelled.
- Enough! Calm down! That's not how we solve anything. Timber, go calm down and brief your female about the interview to give your side of the facts. Brute, go for a walk and clear your head. Runner roared.
Timber didn't wait for Runner to tell him twice, and in a second he was out of the office, striding quickly back to his apartment, the desire to hold his female in his arms consuming him to the point of pain. He needed her like he needed air to breathe and he hoped with all his soul that she wouldn't get mad at the possibility that she was carrying his unborn child.
