HYBRID TYGER 25
tyger
I run on the left side of the trees while Timber runs on the other side, the denser vegetation now blocking the wind and not preventing the scent of the perfume the wretches have thrown from covering Emily's scent, but I still smell it, faint but I feel it, and also the smell of the wretched humans who made the fatal mistake of taking my female.
Without ceasing I run following the trail of crumpled leaves. It's getting dark but my vision is very good at night, so I'm not worried. I watch Timber growl and take it as a warning sign for something.
- I smell fear. Her fear. They are close. My chest tightens and anger burns through me.
- Damn. - grunt.
My hearing can pick up voices, Timber hears them too and slows down just like me. I focus in the middle of the trees and finally manage to capture two men walking side by side, one thin and the other more robust and with my Emily on his back.
The sight of her like this, unprotected, limp, vulnerable, tied up, being carried around like any other object and with something covering her head makes anger boil in my veins.
- I'm going to tear these motherfuckers apart. - I hold a fierce roar.
- Let's round them up. - I nod and we run.
I leap in front of the men snarling and baring their fangs in a frightening fashion, the stench of dread filling my nostrils. They try to turn on their heels to run, but Timber stops them by landing, snarling.
I take the human who is not with Emily, I hold him by the shirt and throw him away, he hits his back on a tree falling unconscious and then I look at the coward who holds my wife, he slowly puts her on the ground, her legs shake and your fear stinks like shit.
- You're not so brave facing a male, are you? Do you prefer to attack defenseless women and take them against their will? Motherfucker! I grab his shirt collar and punch him in the face with my fist.
I mount on top of the asshole throwing punches, I see red and nothing at that moment is able to contain my fury, until Timber pushes me away.
- You can't kill him. At least not yet, we need to find out who they work for and for what purpose they were taking the female.
I take a deep breath in an attempt to control my nerves, I act irrationally and I'm grateful that Timber brought me back to rationality.
- I still want a date with those bastards. - I speak.
- You sure will. Take care of her. - he looks at Emily.
I feel miserable for having let my anger and desire for revenge speak louder and not having helped her before anything else. I'm a bad male for her.
I rush to take her in my arms, there's a bag covering her face, I immediately remove it and analyze it for injuries. Her face is pale, her eyes are closed and I smell blood, I turn her head to find two bruises on the back, her hands and feet are bound with thick rope. A roar rips from deep within me.
I immediately tear the ropes that bind her and massage the broken skin.
- Take her out of here, I'll take care of these idiots. -Timber says giving me a look of anger followed by compassion as he analyzes Emily.
- I will - I assure - But first I need to try to wake her up.
Fear is a feeling I haven't felt in a long time and now it gnaws at my chest leaving me almost in misery at the thought that this female might never open her eyes again. I push that thought away and make movements that encourage her to wake up.
We all receive first aid training and that includes basic resuscitation techniques.
- I have you now Emy. - I open her lips and blow air with mine inside her mouth - Wake up, please. She is safe.
I do this several times, check her pulse and it's weak but still there.
- You will never leave my sight. - growl - Never.
My heart races as her eyes open very slowly, she blinks countless times and then a grimace of pain makes her clench her teeth. Relief courses through me. Our gazes meet and she looks in disbelief at what she sees, tears filling her eyes.
-Tyger ...-she whispers.
- I am here. - I crush her against my chest, never wanting to let her go - Hold on to me, will you be able to?
- I think so. Her voice barely comes out.
My grip on her body is tight as I start to run out into the woods. As soon as I step outside to find cops and hybrids clustered in front of the bar, Creek quickly walks over to us with tears in her eyes.
- Thank God... Is she okay? - question.
- I don't know, she needs a doctor, they hurt her. Bring the jeep, quick!
Creek runs without a second thought, meanwhile kissing the top of the female's head in my arms ignoring everything around me, all the questions and stares before I tell everyone to fuck off. All that matters to me is safe with me now, Emily is all that matters to me.
Creek to the jeep next to me, I climb in quickly, keeping my arms around Emily the entire way to the hospital. At the end of the journey, I get out of the car and enter the hospital, two of our nurses are already waiting and Dr. Mandy appears with a worried look on her face.
They motion for me to take her to a room at the end of the hall, and I go in and sit her on the exam bed.
- Thanks Tyger, I think you can wait outside now. - the dr says.
- I want and will stay by her side. - decree.
- And I want him to stay, please... - Emily asks and my heart warms.
I lay down next to her giving her a smile and intertwine our fingers.
- All right, I should have learned by now that no one can separate companions even for a room. - she laughs.
- Oh, we're not mates... - Emily replies shyly, a lump forms in my throat.
- Right. - Mandy gives a surprised look - I'm Dr. Mandy and you, what's your name?
-Emily Gordon.
The doctor examines Emily's face and the back of her head with her gloved hands.
- There is no deep wound, thankfully. It was enough to draw blood but it won't take stitches. We'll wash the wound and give you some medicine. Does it hurt anywhere else?
- No, only my wrists and ankles burn the skin.
- Please lie down. - she does and is examined carefully - Nothing is broken, the bruises will heal soon with an ointment that I will prescribe. Do you feel dizzy, short of breath?
- No.
- Very well, you can sit down and now we will clean these bruises.
Minutes later, Dr. Mandy has tended to all of Emily's injuries, on her head, wrists and ankles and the back of her thigh.
- I will give you an antibiotic in a vein for pain and inflammation, however I must inform you that it will affect your contraceptive use.
- I do not use.
- No?! The look of surprise on the woman's face made me swallow hard.
- No, let's say... Well, I didn't need that and as everyone knows hybrids can't have children, I think there are no problems. - I feel the blood drain from my face as the doctor looks at me.
- I assume they had sex.
- This is none of your business, doctor. - I speak.
- Since I am a doctor and a woman, it is my duty to warn my patients about all risks. Will you say or do I need to do this?
- Say what? Emily looks at me with pure confusion on her face.
- You look really confused. Tyger must not have told you. I'm going out so they can talk. - Trail warns leaving the room.
My heart is racing and my hands are shaking, fear takes hold of me again, fear that she will reject me, that she will be mad at me for putting her in a situation she couldn't choose because she didn't know the risks.
Meda, I should have warned her about the consequences and she should have used condoms too. I'll never forgive myself if Emily hates me for it.
