HYBRID HOOK 17
Abbie woke up and looked at the clock on the bedside table, it was ten o'clock in the morning. She yawned and stretched and the aftereffects of her hot night with Hook were there, all over her aching body.
He wasn't lying with her anymore and that wasn't a surprise, I already imagined that probably after the previous night in which they said goodbye, I would hardly see him again. She was resigned and would not cry over something she agreed and wanted. I wanted a lot.
The memories would never die, she would think about Hook forever, she had fallen in love so fast it really hurt, but she would get over it. She was aware that they would never work out, Hook hated humans and would never trust her even though she only gave him reasons to know that she wasn't evil.
Today she was leaving HybridFalls . I would thank Breeze for everything and ask her to thank the others involved who helped her and allowed her to stay.
Considering herself strong and resilient, she managed to face life living in prison with Markus being molested and also her brother's betrayal. Somehow he was going to make him pay for the harm he'd done to her.
His cell phone had been in service for a week, Adam had already paid for it when he was a good brother. Abbie never imagined he would sell it back, it really hurt.
She remembered his credit card, she had an additional one that she could buy online and thought that when she got her cell phone she would buy a lot of things to sell and get money for at least a place to sleep for a few days.
She knew she could trust only one person, Megan, her cousin and childhood friend was reliable, they always exchanged whatsapp messages when Abbie couldn't leave her brother's basement but never got to tell her her true story with Markus, had fear of putting her in danger.
But now she had to.
Megan had lived alone since she was eighteen, her mother lived in another country and her father died of liver complications from drinking too much. She kept the house and worked as a telemarketer for a credit card company.
Abbie took a shower, dressed in the best clothes they had brought for her, combed her hair, brushed her teeth, and left the room.
“Hi, Abbie. - Breeze said smiling as soon as he saw her.
- Hey, good morning. She gave a graceful smile.
- Are you okay? Come eat something. I asked them to bring lots of fruit for when I woke up. Abbie was touched.
- Thanks. Wow, you guys are so cool. She walked over with her purse slung over her shoulder.
- Will leave? Breeze asked.
Abbie got an apple and a papaya to cut.
- I'm leaving. Could you lend me that money? Then I'll somehow manage to pay you back.
- Clear. But are you sure? Will it be safe?
“Yes, I'll turn around. Abbie sliced the fruit and began to eat.
“I'll send a message to someone to accompany you and give you the money. Save my cell number in case something happens and you need help.
Abigail ate the sliced apple and two more small papayas, then asked Breeze to call the person who would escort her out and hand her the money. A few minutes later, she was chatting away with the hybrid female when the doorbell rang.
Breeze opened the door and Abbie was right behind her, Blade walked past her.
“Hi, Abbie. It looks adorable today. The male smiled at her.
"Hey, Blade, huh?" She returned the smile, remembering him on the day of the rescue.
“Yes, I came to accompany you. Here's the money. He handed her some notes.
- Thanks. — she counted and had 100 dollars — I didn't need that much but I promise to return it. Thank you. He gave Breeze a heartfelt hug.
“No need to return it. Watch out, Abbie, and please, if anything happens, don't hesitate to call me, I'll send you help.
“I won't hesitate. You are amazing. Thanks a lot. She gave the female another friendly hug and left with Blade.
"Are you sure you want to go?" the male asked as they walked to the elevator.
“Yes, I need to sort out some things. I'll be fine. — so I hope.
The two walked together to a black jeep parked in front of the building, Blade helped Abbie into it because it was a little tall and he climbed into the driver's seat.
“You're Hook's friend, aren't you? Abbie asked suddenly.
- Yea.
"Do you know why he's like that?" So cold inside?
— He told me a little about what they did to him but he didn't say much, he never told anyone the whole story.
Abbie felt sorry for him, whether or not she understood that he must have suffered hell to hate holding humans so much and whether to even think about getting involved with a human or trusting.
But still they spent the night together twice.
— I'm not going to ask what he told you, I know it doesn't concern me and if I ever find out what happened it will be through his mouth.
"You like him, don't you?"
“I do, but I'm not going to grovel for him, not when I have no reason to. He has already made clear his contempt for human beings, he makes a point of emphasizing it. He said something about a human female he trusted and betrayed him. He must think I'm going to do the same.
“He has his reasons Abbie, I tease him sometimes and tell him to move on and forget the past but only he knows what he's been through, I suffered but Hook suffered more.
“I understand and I don't judge. I hope that one day he can get rid of this trauma. I also suffered a lot, a man abused me but I still gave myself to Hook because I trusted him, I knew he wouldn't hurt me. I put my trauma aside because I wanted him and it was him, I don't know, I felt different about him.
— I believe that if he gave in and touched you, it is because he feels the same way, but he is too proud.
“Don't even get me started, he's the king of pride. Abbie smiled, remembering Hook grumbling and teasing her.
I would miss him.
— One day he will wake up to life and maybe it will be too late. He never stayed with a female after we were rescued. You can be sure that he has feelings for you, otherwise he wouldn't have to avoid you to control what he feels.
“We parted last night. He was upfront from the beginning about his hatred and that nothing but sex was going to happen between us. But I'm an idiot and I fell in love, do what... - she shrugged.
Abbie felt sad and her last thought let her down even more, scenes like these where the man or the woman goes after the other and asks them not to leave only happens in movies and books, she knew she would never have that with the man she fell in love with.
“We're here. I'll call a taxi for you. — Blade said parking the car at the rear gates of HíbridoFalls — It's quieter here and you won't suffer harassment from people who are bothering you at the front gates.
- Thanks. I wonder if these people don't have what to do.
“You can be sure not. — Blade took the cell phone and typed something — In ten minutes it will be here.
“Thanks, Blade, you're very kind. Abbie gave him a graceful smile.
A few minutes later the car arrived. Abbie left the gates after saying goodbye to Blade and got into her car. He took a long breath, looked at the great gates and his eyes filled with tears.
“Goodbye, Hook…” he whispered.
