HYBRID HOOK 37
Hook was stressed and tired of waiting. They were in big teams inside black SUV'S surrounding what would be Markus Mason's address so it wouldn't be noticed. Brenner Smith, the leader of the human task force, gave permission for him to lead the men inside the car he was in, these were Timber at the wheel, Zest, Blade and Black ready to invade when they gave the order by radio.
— Hell wait. Hook snarled. I would have been inside already, and if Markus was inside I would have forced him out.
- I agree with you. Black said and Hook looked at him coldly.
“You wanted my female. he snarled.
- I did not want. I just wanted to be friends and keep her company because she was alone in the bar. he explained, but Hook snarled at him again.
“Timber also wanted Tyger's female. Hook growled. "What's the matter with you people wanting the other's female?"
"I didn't know it was his female!" Timber defended himself.
“Let's stop this shit. Hybrids do not steal other people's mates. Zest said.
“Abbie wasn't your mate yet Hook either, and I didn't want anything immoral with her. If it comforts you, I've never been with a female before. Black revealed and all the males inside the car shot him an incredulous and surprised look.
- Are you serious? Timber asked first.
“Yes, and I'm not ashamed of it. - he said even though his face was slightly flushed - I'm very sincere and I've never had a female offer sex to me and I've never felt attracted enough to any of them to want that.
"So you have a romantic soul?" Blade said smiling.
- Like this?
— The most romantic and sentimental people only have sex if they feel special about their partner.
"I guess that's it then." I wanted to feel special towards a female, but it never happened.
“What if you find the right female and don't know what to do? If she is bad at sharing sex she will look for another male. - Timber said in an amused tone but Black growled.
"Is this likely to happen?" he questioned a little pale.
- I think so. Timber continued to smile.
“I know a great place to change that if you want. You can look at the women there and decide if you're attracted to any, if she's attracted to you too, you stay with her. Or you can just learn something from them. Humans are more sensitive and docile, so I think it's a good idea. Zest suggested.
“I appreciate your idea. I've never had much contact with many human females, nor has it been that long since I've been free.
“And you're great with humans despite that. Blade said.
“My captivity wasn't all bad. There were some friendly jailers.
— Because it's no use feeling attracted to a female and not knowing what to do with her. Timber teased again.
“I get it, Timber. - Black said getting tense.
“We can give you some pointers, or you can ask her what she likes if you don't learn anything from the women where Zest wants to take you.
The car radio began to sizzle, drawing the males' attention.
"Prepare to invade." Everything has been silent for many hours. Brenner's voice was heard.
- At last. Hook growled.
He was the first down and into position. They were a few yards away from the large residence, so they sprinted to the spot with Hook at the head and the rest following.
Hook approached the house with the team, gesturing for them to split up and circle the house. The other teams were also closing in. A loud sound immediately went off. They were paralyzed trying to identify what it was and where it was coming from.
“This is Brenner Smith. They were waiting for us. We are under attack.
More shots began to fire, Hook ducked behind a bush and began firing in the direction the shots were coming from as well. Each hybrid male did as well, until the shooting ceased on the other side.
“Back me up. I'm going in. - he said.
“Brenner didn't order this. Blade said.
- Screw this. Because of this delay we are being attacked. We were the ones who should attack by coming by surprise. Hook growled.
“There's a helicopter in the back, and we think Mason plans to escape that way. Travis Bummer shouted over the radio.
Hook, who was at the back of the house, looked around the immense garden for a helicopter and found it.
- I am seeing. — he said seeing men dressed in suits hidden behind the pillars of the house.
The shots started again. A loud alarm sounded. They weren't sure what that meant. Shots were exchanged and some of Mason's men were hit. Hook managed to take down five men and slowly closed in on the helicopter with more men covering him. He spotted a human male behind others dressed in security briefs and immediately knew who it was.
- Bastard. He snarled angrily, shooting again, knocking down two more who were protecting Markus.
The human tried to run but Hook managed to hit him in the leg, he screamed before falling to the ground.
At the same moment he realized that someone had shot towards him and hit him so hard that he fell to the ground. He was wearing a bulletproof vest, but the shot hit him in an unprotected place, he felt the back of his head burn and a sharp pain began to grow.
His vision began to blur and all he saw around him were figures. He didn't know how much time passed but the shots stopped, his body was immobile, he couldn't move, but he felt a terrible sharp pain in his head.
“Hook! He heard Blade's voice and felt two fingers on his neck measuring his pulse.
He struggled to open his eyes but they seemed too heavy for that. He turned his head in a lot of pain when he saw Markus Mason being lifted off the ground by Zest and Travis Bummer, a sense of accomplishment came over him despite all the pain.
Blade was shouting orders for the paramedics to hurry but Hook felt drowsy and weak, the only thing he could think of was that he was dying, he felt nothing in his body but an excruciating pain in his head.
“Hook! Keep your eyes open. “Blade asked as the medics checked the wound on his head. You can't close your eyes. Breathe. That. - Blade tried to keep his voice controlled so as not to show that he was desperate with the possibility of losing his friend.
Hook struggled not to close his eyes, too weak to try to focus his vision, and the only thing he could think of at that moment was Abbie and her cub. What if he didn't come back to her alive? He would never see his child born, never say I love you to her again. Agony crushed him with every breath he took as he fought not to close his eyes. His head felt like it was in pieces.
His female's pair of beautiful brown eyes filled his thoughts and the memory of her face was all that kept him fighting to stay awake. He couldn't break the promise he made to her to come back alive and safe. Abbie would be destroyed if anything worse happened to him, it could even endanger their son. He had to be as strong as possible for his family.
Lost in thought he barely noticed that he had been moved onto a stretcher and taken into Markus Mason's helicopter, they would seize the opportunity and use him, if they didn't get to HybridFalls in time, Hook might not resist.
"We're going home buddy, hang in there." Blade said.
Hook tried to move his lips to say something, but his voice wouldn't come, his mind not seeming to be actively working. He took a deep breath, thought about Abbie again she was his strength and for her he was capable of anything. So he managed to say:
- If something happens to me, take care of my female and my son, please... - he asked weakly before the darkness wrapped around him.
