HYBRID HOOK 38
Abbie looked out from the balcony of the apartment and sat down in a rocking chair, rubbed her stomach with one hand and looked at her cell phone for the tenth time in the other. She had sent Hook a few messages that went unanswered, but she knew he must be busy and didn't have time for that.
Even so, it had been a few hours since Hook had last called or answered. She looked at the picture of them on her phone's wallpaper and sighed loudly. It was almost midnight and I wasn't sleepy. She needed to sleep and be rested for when her husband arrived, but she couldn't, her heart was tight but she refused to think of anything bad happening.
She got up and went to the kitchen, grabbed a small bottle of water and went back to the porch. Megan was already sleeping in Blade's old room and only she wandered around the house with insomnia and longing for Hook, this dependence on him sometimes scared her, but she knew they would never be apart.
— Dad must be on his way home or without time to use his cell phone, he must also be tired. I hope they all went well and they got that bastard Markus…” Abbie felt the baby kick.
She smiled stroking her belly and then widened her eyes realizing that her baby kicked for the first time. His heart burned with love.
"You kicked!" I don't believe. His father would be so happy, he was crazy about this. She took out her cell phone and wrote him a message.
"Our baby kicked." She wrote emotional and ended up yawning.
— Yeah, I think sleep knocked. - she said to herself and got up going to the bedroom.
He lay down on the bed and pulled Hook's pillow that smelled wonderful of him into his arms. He breathed in the scent and it felt empty without him at night.
- Please God. That nothing bad happened to him. I don't know if I could stand it... — he muttered before closing his eyes to try to sleep.
The next day Abbie woke up very early with Megan knocking on the bedroom door, she got up hurriedly and opened it, Blade was also there with her, his dark gaze and slumped shoulders, Abbie immediately fell into despair knowing that something had happened to Hook.
- What happened? he questioned.
“Hook was wounded. Blade spoke and her knees nearly gave out.
- As? It's serious? She approached Blade, struggling not to break down, tears already blinding her.
— Calm down, you're pale and you're pregnant, you need to calm down. Blade spoke and Megan held her upright.
"Is he very bad?" Where is he? Take me there now, please. he asked with tears in his eyes.
“He's having surgery to remove the bullet in his head. The words stabbed at her heart.
"You should have let me know right away, I should have been by his side." My God, does he have a bullet in his head? she screamed in terror.
“Calm down, no one can be by his side yet. He'll be fine, he's strong, and the healing drugs will speed up his healing process. He would be more worried about his reaction so I have to make sure his female doesn't have a heart attack when he wakes up and the first thing he asks will be about you and the child.
She cried more.
"Just take me to him, where is he?" At the medical center? she asked desperately.
- Yea. I'll take it, but stay calm.
“Abbie, it's going to be all right. We will be with you all the time. Megan said in an attempt to comfort her friend.
“Yes, Hook is a strong male and we heal much faster than ordinary humans. The important thing is that he is alive.
"Yes, he's really strong. - She smiled remembering him - Damn... I had a bad feeling. It doesn't matter now, I want to go to him. I wait for the surgery to end, I just want to be there for him.
"I would also want to be by your side." Megan said looking at Blade with compassion.
- I get it. I'll take it.
"Do you want to take a shower and eat something first?" Megan asked tucking a strand of Abbie's hair behind her ear.
"I'm just going to brush my teeth and use the bathroom." Can you leave my meds on the table? Thanks. She ran towards the bathroom.
An hour later, she was sitting in a padded chair in the medical center's waiting room. Her hands were sweaty and she was restless, she had already cried but she thought that the best thing for her baby and her partner was that she was calm.
My husband is strong and will heal fast. Said that followed by a tear, her heart was in pieces.
A gray-haired doctor suddenly appeared. Abbie got to her feet quickly and Blade helped her as her belly was already big.
"Are you Hook's mate waiting to see him?" the Doc asked.
- Yes it's me. he replied promptly.
— I'm Dr. Harvey. He's fine, the healing drugs are already taking effect in his organism, he hasn't woken up yet but he should soon, he's out of danger and you can go in to see him now.
“Oh, thank God. She almost collapsed with relief.
- We will. - The Dr pointed to the corridor and then they entered a room.
The sight of Hook motionless, pale and haggard on the bed made tears blind her. A bandage covered most of her long dark hair. Her gaze dropped to his bare chest where the monitor's links were attached.
“Oh, Hook… My love. She hurried to the side of the bed. Her hand shook as it gently cupped his face and kissed his bare chest. "Is he really out of danger?" ” Hot tears streaked her cheeks.
“Yes, we gave him special drugs designed to help hybrids heal faster. He hasn't woken up yet but he will. He was shot in the head which nearly killed him, it caused swelling in his brain but it's getting better in the meantime. she nodded.
His fingers stroked Hook's chin.
"What about sequels?" Will these medications help?
“We think so. They did an exam half an hour ago. My son and I, who is also a doctor, found that there was no bleeding and no accumulated fluid. The swelling has also gone down. There's nothing that tells us there will be consequences, especially given the drugs used on him, but we won't know for sure until he wakes up.
She leaned over him and laid her head on his chest, her fingers touching a few strands of his long hair that were free of the bandage around his forehead. He was alive and he would be fine, she was here with him and she wouldn't leave his side.
“I'm here, Hook. We are, you like to feel it, look...” She took his hand lightly and brought it up under her blouse. “Can you hear me? It needs to improve for us.
“Someone has to stay inside the room with you. He may be aggressive when he wakes up as a result of the drugs in his system. We don't want him to hurt you. - the doctor said.
- I stay. He is one of my best friends. Blade spoke from the doorway.
- I stay with you. Megan said.
- Very good. I'm leaving now, call me anything. - the doctor said and left.
- Thank you people. Abbie said and returned her gaze to Hook.
He could have died. I might not be with her anymore. At that moment, she was absolutely certain that she didn't know how to live without him.
She climbed into bed with him and fitted in next to his body, he was big and the beds fit for them, so she fit next to him, fitting perfectly with him.
She spent the next few moments touching him and talking to him. She would never let him leave her side like that again.
